Clarence Gilyard Jr. appeared in some of the biggest action movies of the 80s, only to walk away from acting to become a beloved professor. In the wake of his tragic passing, let's take a look back at his remarkable life and career. vic: though i had the great honor and utmost respect for Professor Clarence Gilyard Jr in my time going to UNLV from 2016 to 2022 i will always remember his kind words and great sense of humor he always let lose in class and on stage. thank you fo ryou're service to our beloved school and to the country you will be missed dearly

rip clarence. i am literally shocked. i mean he was only 66 and was not ever aware he was ill or sick or anything. loved him in walker. oh i had noticed something he actaully also had i guess it would be sort of a a very tiny role in Karate kid 2. he was in that bar in okinawa where daniel broke six blocks of ice

I only knew him as Ranger Travette. I knew he played on Matlock but I didn't watch that show enough to follow his character. Walker is my all time favorite show and Travette is the perfect partner for Walker. RIP Clarence

I loved seeing him in all the roles he was in. Even remembered sim in Die Hard and Walker. I just had no idea he died, but that s kinda hard to keep up with actors everywhere.

This one hurts like all the others. Walker Texas Ranger was my mothers favorite show. She passed away in 2012. I love him in Matlock and Die Hard more then anything.
