Adolescent Sheldon Cooper isn't as young as he once was. Come Season 7, it might be time for Young Sheldon's showrunners to hang up the towel for these reasons. Jason: I don't necessarily think that the age of the actor and the character should be a problem as far as the name of the show is concerned. If that were the case then other shows like The Rookie would have had a problem after he was no longer an actual rookie. I do agree that they should consider the freshness of the storylines as far as how long it goes.

I wonder if they'll end with George's death, since Sheldon and Missy are currently around 13, and it's established that their dad dies when they're 14, so they just have one more year. I hope that they don't keep dragging it out unnecessarily.
