The Real Reason Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom Bombed At The Box Office

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is another box office disaster for DC. Keep watching to find out what all went wrong. Nothing went wrong with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. I watched it in the theaters. The only thing everyone needs to be fed up with are the constant negative opinions that DO NOT MATTER. All the DC movies are perfect and equally great. There is no bad DC movie. Except, of course, the Joker abomination of Joaquin Phoenix and the second Suicide Squad abomination that never should've been made. There are people who do like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and anyone who doesn't like Aquaman 2 are GOING to respect the people who do like Aquaman 2.

Were not fed up with SuperHero Fatigue thats just ridiculous its bad movie Fatigue and bad writing Fatigue and just poor casting and bad stories. If they want to turn it around and get the fans back they need to use characters people know and love and stop with the Diversity hires and Amber Turds of the world like this movie did she was a big reason ppl didn't tune into this movie plus these ppl that DC and Marvel hire dont stay true to the source material and original comics they constantly want to interject themselves into they storytelling and it ruins these movies. Movies can still make money especially Superhero ones but they need to stop with the campy humor and get more serious go a bit darker and stay true to the original characters and storylines from the comics and just make a better product and people will come to these movies but it seems like Hollywoke doesn't know how to do that anymore. I guess they don't want to make money idk its just dumb that they've destroyed soo many IPs recently its sad.

I don't believe it is superhero movies that are necessarily the problem but their quality. When Marvel first started it focused on telling a complete story in each film that focused on the characters. The studios have shifted away from this and use films and series to build up to a larger story. Directors can't just focus on a single story but are given a chapter of a narrative that may never grow to fruition. It has gotten to a point where you are expected to go to a theater and spend two hours watching a prelude to some big event that is years away or watch a film that is paying off on plot threads from a decade ago that half the audience won't get. Why pay for a ticket when you can just wait for it to reach streaming and get all the content at once so the narrative actually makes sense.

DCEU is lame imo, a failed copy cat of MCU in the cinematic universe space.
With that said, I watched some movies in the DCEU for various reasons
1. Wonder Woman (both) for Gal Gadot
2. Justice League for being the first DCEU movie I watched before deciding it s a failed copy cat
3. Aqua man 1 for Jason Momoa seems cool dude
That s all
Then again, I would ve considered watching aqua man 2 for the same reason in Jason Momoa and since I do not care much for DCEU, it s discontinuity does not affect me since I m watching it as a standalone movie instead of a cinematic universe movie, but keeping heard in the movie just disgust the f outta me
So talking about the real reason why this movie flopped, for me, at least in my case, is her

Personally, I like these DCEU movies. some better than others. Comedy is good when offered in relivant proportion but should not be the main way (Shazam did a good job of balance. It depends if these are going to be more on the adult theme or trying to offer a family (young kids) vibe. Kind of like offering Batman (1960's TV) to The Batman or Dark Knight, which is dark and challenging as Batman should be. It is hard to find balance of large adult theme/action movies with the kids in the seats. and I do believe there should be kid friendly offerings, but when you are demanding Billion dollar box office returns as the new norm. The adults are the ones shelling out the cash or swiping the plastic.

Well, it doesn't help that there are so many influencers out there, giving their opinion years in advance of the movie's release. Studio insiders leaking information years in advance, and revealing the entire plot of the movies years in advance. It also doesn't help that these influencers view the movie weeks in advance of the release date and then give their Warning Spoiler Alert videos. I do believe The main reason superhero movies are tanking is because of all the hype given to them and negative reviews before they're released by all these influencers who are spoiling the movies for all intents and purposes.

While superhero fatigue is possible, it's has more to do with bad writing. When you look at Marvel, they've just been focusing on quantity over quality. They hire people who have no knowledge of, or respect for, the source material and/or characters. They hire people who attack and gaslight their fanbase, the actual people who support those franchises. That alone has put me off from watching some of those shows/movies.
A big, if not the biggest, issue surrounding Aquaman 2 was the fact that Amber Turd was in the movie. People probably would have given it a chance if Mera was recast with another actress.

The first Aquaman movie sucked too. People are just starting to catch on to the fact that many of these big budget Superhero movies are total garbage. Just look at The Batman or Joker. Both of these films take place outside the DCU and did very well. That should've been the hint for the studios to wrap up on the DCU. But instead they forged ahead thinking that there was till more money to be made on the horizon. That's what happens when you care more about making money than making great films. You end up taking a shit eventually.

It looks like superhero movies are over. For now. Maybe few years. People need a break. I agree. Too many superhero movies, too many stories. Way too many. I understand why people are tired. Maybe it's time for another movies now, action, comedy, horror. They could focus on this more. I didn't watch either of these movies. But I think Wan didn't know how to make a movie. Break in superhero movies is good for now. I don't think Jason appeared drunk on set. Great video

Amber Heard or any other actor is not a reason not to see the movie when they are not even in it too long. What if a friend really wanted to see it with you? What about supporting our theaters? Hopefully if you don't see this you see something else and support our theaters on top of the support they have gotten with Barbenheimer etc. However this movie was. Meh. The post credits scene is not a way to end the DCEU thats for sure.

The first Aquaman he played Aquaman and the 2nd he played himself instead of Aquaman and went Comedy and after 5 Movies of Light heartly Comedies they were pretty much let the Bombs drop. WB it worked for Marvel (No it did not you miss the Story, Action & just look at the Comedy) when you have nothing you get Nothing but Bombs. WB: But we targeted the Kids and yeah and look where that got you.
reply

Man i judt think ppl got way too obsessed with amber heard, brie larson, and Rachel Ziegler. Idk why but these women have been targets by many alt right outlets. So anytime their movies dont do good, theyll get the blame. This movie is doing well internationally but it was barely promoted. I know many ppl who didnt ecen know this was coming out. So its way different

I'd say the assessment is totally incorrect. I believe the biggest impact on movies is the state of our economy and not the characters. During a good economy, people will all go out to see even bad movies just to get out of the house. Today, going to the grocery stores is even a strain to the pocket. It didn't help to have the C-19 thing happen either!
reply

Two words: Amber Heard. If almost 5 million signed saying they won't watch it with her in it, X that by 5 to 10 times that number for those who didn't have time to sign, and they won't see it either with her in it. You're already talking about at least 20 million give or take a few refuse to watch the movie with that liar and abuser on the show.
reply

I'd give it a couple more weeks. After all it's the same director who did the first Aquaman, the release date is perfect and Miss Heard's scenes have been almost completely cut out of the movie. So it probably won't surpass the first Aquaman movie but will still be a decent sequel grossing at least half a billion dollars.

Rick Gervais on superheroes and their movies. Their (actors like Jason M) job isn t acting anymore, it s going to the gym twice a day. Do we have an award for most ripped junkie? He was saying this years ago, nobody listened and that s why we keep getting these disappointing flicks thrown at us. Nobody is listening.

Black manta was the villain until he wasn't changing the main villain into the side villain was a mistake for me that threw me off. sticking to just manta versus aqua man would have made the movie much better I think except we got a villain that came for like 30 seconds am he was dead just like that
reply

Honestly I think the reason dc s movies have been bombing is because of all the drama surrounding them like if the studio is trying to make changes to the movies constantly or pretty much shitting on them before they come out kinda makes it difficult for us fans to care about going to see them
reply

Jason Momoa was as Aquaman was a man child
This hero should have a character worth admiring. Like a true king.
Momoa as Khal Drogo was more interesting. he could have taken a page out of that experience.
Learn from JL animated aquaman
Would be nice if elon musk bought WB's DC

I still can't get over the ending. They had a chance at the end. I was getting excited for a little redemption on the movie. And then are you kidding. The dude catches the black trident, bad asss. and then aquaman throws his trident right through it and kills him anyway. What a joke.
