I've read all 5 of the books so I'm gonna type everything here lol
-There was a girl before teresa, she apparently escaped though.
-Teresa and Thomas had telepathic abilities, aswell as Aris and Rachel.
-Teresa and Aris never lost there memories, so wicked told them what to and not what do.
-Thomas was called Stephen
-Siggy (Frypan) was called Toby
-Teresa was called DeeDee from The Kill Order
-There were lightbulb creatures in the scorch trials you had to beat before getting into the berg.
-Thomas had to go back to the glade to rescue the immunes that WICKED put back there.
-Teresa was crushed by a rock in the books.
-Newt was shot by Thomas in the books.
-Winston's head was ripped off by a metal ball (I think)
-Chuck was stabbed, then Thomas beat up Gally.
-Alby sacrificed himself
-George (Brenda's brother, not Jorge) was one of the first to get stung, then Alby wacked him with a spear then he died
-Newt jumped off the maze walls not realising they were infinite, and broke his leg.
-The dark tunnel where it whispered Turn back you won't get sliced or something like that
-Janson=Ratman
-Sassy minho
-Minho shot Laurence's toe off.
-Newt never went inside the walls in Denver, he stayed in the berg later to be taken.
If I remember anymore, I will come back
-Sonya, Newts sister, was called Lizzy.
Keep in mind, I am not watching this video, I know everything different so yeah
-Teresa did not betray Thomas in her own will, she was forced because she thought she'd die if she didn't

Loved the books. Loved the movies. I get that movies need to be different because there's two hours to get things in. I get most of the changes except one - the Scorch was a TRIAL. That's the name of the book and the movie. In the book they had to traverse it to escape and were being tested. In the movie they just made it an area they ran around in to escape WICKED. That was a miss because the first movie was the maze trial so the second should've been a trial too. I was super disappointed though that we never got that battle at the end where they fought those creatures with the blades. That would've tied Scorch Trials in with the Grievors of the first book/film. That sci-fi aspect made the trilogy quite unique so to cut it from the film was a let down. Other than that, the movies were really good.

So I read the first book and just found it unbearable (I couldn't stand Thomas, so I decided to just watch the movies instead. I really loved them! I'm sure those of y'all that read the whole series see it in a completely different way than I do, but I thought the movies were good (not great, but good. The one criticism I have for the films is that they don't give most of the characters any personality traits. They're more like: that's the asian kid, that's the black kid, that's the girl, and that guy's British. Watching the movies kind of made me regret not reading the rest of the series, but it was a STRUGGLE for me to get through the first one. I didn't think it was worth hating myself just to get through the series. I'm kind of glad though, 'cause I got to enjoy the films for what they were.

The film adaptations is much better than the novels. No offense to the fans. That is my opinion.
This is interesting because Alby and Gally has personalities changes from the novel to film. For example, they are both mean in the novel, but in the film, they are both nicer despite Gally fearing Thomas later. I read the book of The Maze Runner and watch it and felt it was different.
I kind of felt like The Maze Runner film adaptation are a bit different compared to the novels that they are based on. I can see why critics and audiences felt that the Maze Runner films are mostly better than from novel-to-movies.

Personally I see absolutely no resemblance between the movies and the books. Only the names and basic storyline (sun flares, virus, maze, cure.
The entire plot is different in scorch trials and death cure and they even changed how they solve the maze. Not one bit was the same. Even in the first one they messed up the order of everything. It just pisses me off so much that they didnt stick to books one bit. Dont get me wrong the movies are amazing and stand very well on their own and the choices of actors was great but if ur gonna base a movie off of a book u have to at least keep the same plot.

The maze in the movie is a Giant Labyrinth and is not underground. The maze in the book is a giant square maze and is underground as the sky and the sun and night are simulations.
(Only in the book) The True Maze (also known as Group B maze) is a very cold temperature
and the people are called Icers, the maze walls are built-in ice and the outer rim (also known as the inner rings) is vertical. They escaped faster and only lost a few Icers, they are shown more capable than the Gladers.

A few things I remember one of the boys in the maze said it never rains around here it never does, once they made a map of the maze got on fire on purpose with one of the boys, later they when into the grievers home they actually saw a computer trying to put a code in it never worked then they had a red button underneath the computer, soon they saw two lab coats people the boys got very angry with them and that all I can remember from reading the first book

No one mentions the fact that there literally was no Cliff.
And I dont know if its just me, but I was sort of annoyed about how Teresa and Thomas were basically the answers to everything in the movies
And how there were no beetle blades
They also never said how Newt broke his leg: (
Dont get me wrong, I love the movies and I absolutely ADORE the cast. but I could go on with the list of things that I didnt like changed.

I have to disagree, while the telepathic connection between theresa and thomas isn't that relevant to the plot in the movie, it's almost everything in the books. Theresa isn't actually a saint in the books, and her whole purpose and goal isn't to cure humanity, it's simply to keep thomas safe. While this reasoning is extremely simple, it actually makes theresas character a lot more solid, and without constant contridictions.

- Jorge didnt decide that he would cut Minhos fingers off bc Minho punched him
- Im not sure about Jorge, bc I dont think they specified if adults could be immune, but Brenda was definitely a Munie.
- THE GRIEVERS LOOKED LIKE TERRIFYING SPIDERS INSTEAD OF TERRIFYING SLUGS
- The dead bodies hanging from the ceiling.
- RAT MAN
Theres more, but Ill spare those who really do not care

Cranks are infected humans that gradually slide into insanity. I see you haven't watched the third movie yet. Even then we're shown infected glades slowly going insane in the first movie.
(Before you tell me it wasn't out yet, the initial release date was 3 days before this was uploaded.
Kinda curious to see if you're gonna bring up the fact that Minho wasn't captured in the books.

My biggest problem is that near the very end of the Death Cure book they all head back to the maze, one of them, to rescue all of the immune people that were basically stored there by WICKED and as their running out the entire things crumbling and killing groups of people via boulders landing on them. The movie has nothing to do with the Maze.

The second movie was written by someone who had been told a synopsis by a friend of a friend who read the blurb on the back of the book. It is so different is may as well not be given the title. The third movie tried so hard to pull it all together, most evident by Jorge constantly using the term ermano every time he talked! Lol!

The thing that annoyed me most is that teresa was told to make Thomas feel portrayed in the books as part of the variables, otherwise they said they would kill him. So all she does is make him feel portrayed and then she tells him after what she was doing. But in the movies teresa tells wicked their location! I love both though!

there is a difference between book Newt and movie Newt. In the books, he is very muscled and a bit longer than the others and he has long hair.
but his personality is the same in the movies and books: kind, sympathetic, and sooo friendly
I still cant decide which Newt version i love the most. so i say; i love both

I vaguely remember the 3 books, but after watching this its mostly coming back to me. I just remember really like the Scorch Trials book & hating the movie for being so different. Like i never really liked Thomas & Brenda Im sorry, but they also make Theresea seem like a. um. female dog & almost a villain.

I personally think the Maze Runner id one of the few movie trilogies that has big changes, but are still enjoyable. Yes, they cut MANY good things from the books, but they were still able to make great movies in comparison. At least thats my opinion, I can understand if you hate the movies.

I really hate how the grievers have legs in the movies and kind of look like spiders. In the books they are described as being a hairy glutenous blob with no distinct shape that moves around by impaling the ground with spikes and rolling

I'm more of a fan of the first movie than the sequels, but I love the books more. The movies are all great in their own way, don't get me wrong, but I just wish Hollywood would tackle books properly for the sake of originality and good quality.

I recall watching this thinking That doesn't fit the description of a Griever at all! I imagined fleshy, slug-like creatures with mechanical spikes and pincers, but these Grievers were totally hollywoodised, reimagined for the adaptation.

The fact that the cranks are just dumb zombies annoyes me the most. In the book they are sick psychos and some of them are even able to think straight. I loved the cranks in the books and I was sooo dissapointed: (

Honestly I really like that both series are so different. There's elements I prefer in the books and parts I prefer in the films and to me neither is perfect but together it is such a fun series.

Ik it's many yrs later but I felt in the movie Chuck and Thomas close relationship wasn't really shown. I never thought i would cry so much reading about a character like Chuck and what happened to Chuck.

One of the biggest changes i think is that during the change between the room they stayed in after they got rescued in and the Scorch, Winston gets attacked by a blob monster, and another kid dies.
