I still cant get over the fact that people think sampling is ok in pop music. its apparently not copied its just sampled! 1! So its perfectly fine! I just. its not fine. Its lazy and lying and so many songs and artists get credit for beats and lyrics they just took from someone else. all it says to me is that these people have no originality whatsoever. And I find it so funny how its apparently so much different from plagiarism, its really not. So there.

If i ask you to create a song you will use elements of a melody you once heard without even noticing. It's 100% guarenteed. Creating new sounds is very difficult at this point in time and it is something the producers do. The artists record the song not knowing a thing about the original songs. I know i wouldn't. Either way recycling something just keeps it alive, so why not do it?

Speaking of Beyonce, honourable mention to Destiny's Child who sampled the guitar riff from Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks in their song Bootylicious. In one of the quick cutaways at the start of the music video, Stevie is seen on the guitar.

No Bitter Sweet Symphony in this list? I'm sure many people don't know that it heavily samples an instrumental version of a Rolling Stones song. I didn't know that until recently either, and I only stumbled upon this by accident.

How are you not gonna mention Genius of Love by the Tom Tom Club? That song is one of the most sampled songs in hip hop. Fantasy by Mariah Carey is almost a straight cover of the song.

All song's nowadays could be considered sample songs because they all copy other musicians mostly the classic musicians. They are all unoriginal. This is why The Beatles are better!

This all mainstream pop. not really any surprises here. Of course they sample. Don't get me wrong. I like plenty of mainstream pop. But I'm also very aware of how its made.

Sampling is plagiarizing plain & simple. how dare you say it's an art form. any true artist who had any real talent wouldn't need to steal other songs.

Every pop song since 1990 has been a sampled, lip-sync, fake piece of garbage. I grew up in the 70s when singers actually had to have talent.
