For those of you who were disappointed by this series, how Penny was never a well developed character, and how it ended, let me recommend you this:
.
What could have been, son-goku5.
.
WAY BETTER than the actual show. It takes place THROUGHOUT the show, but has real and better character development for Penny. It's mostly from Penny's POV, and it also gives her more depth by showing/including her family from Nebraska as well as her family. It definitely made me feel better about how disappointing the last five seasons were. The show should have just ended with Leonard and Penny getting married. Also this story puts Penny in moments where she wasn't. (Vegas and Camping Trip where the guys were Tripping while Camping; she gets high too. Also, there's a huge twist that makes the show honestly look dumb in romantic story telling. There's also more Penny vs Sheldon in it, to the point that Sheldon messes with her job and she messes with his schedule. Penny also doesn't become unlikable in it, and remains her before she got married self to the end. Her fate in this story is also a lot better. And Leonard's proposal is WAY better in it. They also show Leonard interacting with her family more often (they also show him asking for her parents blessing, which is a very well written moment) and he even tells Penny he's jealous of her for having nice parents. Leonard also gets REAL character development in this story too. He grows up and acts less nerdy but still remains a nerd (for example he missed half a day of Comic Con to take care of Penny when she gets a headache. That's what I call maturity. And when Raj uses the whip sound, to make fun of him for taking care of her, Penny gets all mad for them making fun of Leonard and she even mentions his problem with Emily and the Iron Maiden. When all he's doing is something thoughtful. What's best about this story is that while they do act like their sitcom selves, Leonard and Penny develop more realistically like REAL PEOPLE. READ IT! Also the author is German, and I think he's a physicist, because he writes science dialogue that's offscreen. Penny also comes to hate Beverley a lot. She also stands up for him when someone flirts with her and denigrates him at the same time, because she knows he never was able to do it his whole life. Its really beautiful. At one point she even calls him in her mind, her soulmate.
Penny and Leonard plan a REAL wedding, and they exchange actual beautiful vows, and makes it clear she wants to have a genuinely happy life with him because he at one point in the story says that life will go by and all that a person will have is a regret of not doing something. Leonard is a little philosopher in this story. He even tells Penny hes thinking about changing his name to Leonardo, cause it get rid of the word nerd in his name, but ultimately doesnt.
Penny is actually really smart in season seven and eight; she comes up with a way to trick Sheldon into giving them the apartment. You see the author writes a reason why Penny is uncomfortable with Leonard moving in with her. It is because of her asshole ex who cheated on her before she met Leonard. Penny thinks that her and Leonard also being neighbors is convenient and practical. So when Sheldon gets hospitalized in season four for weeks, Leonard in a very Chandler Bing fashion asks Penny to move in (in this story they dont break up like in season three, and their relationship starts off WAY differently) with him as a trial. Hes smart and tells Penny he knows the real reason. When they get engaged she tells Leonard they cant live in her apartment, so its either A trick Sheldon into moving out or B, find a new place, and make it our own. Sheldon is more intolerable and unbearable. When Leonard does move out, they basically show no real sympathy. Penny even tells Amy that its HER job to prepare Sheldon for when they get married since shes his girlfriend by will. Excerpt:
Amy waved it off and looked at her. Are you determined to live with Leonard after you're married?
Of course. Penny scrunched her face in confusion. He'll be my husband, why would I not?
Well, I heard the secret of a successful relationship is separate apartments. Amy hesitated, clearly uncomfortable.
Amy, did you tell Sheldon yet that he has to get used to the idea that he won't be living with Leonard anymore? Penny asked her friend.
Well.
Dammit, Amy! Penny huffed.
I haven't gotten the chance yet to approach the subject. Amy justified her recalcitrance. I'm afraid he'll run away again.
Amy, let me be clear. Penny said. After Leonard and me are back from our honeymoon, we will live together. Whether it'll be here in this building or somewhere else, I don't know yet but Sheldon will not be living in the same apartment.
Fine. Amy huffed.
Go back a minute, clothing has an expiration date? Bernadette interjected.
Yes, it's called fashion. Penny nodded as Amy picked up the red dress from the top of the keep pile.

They never should have made Penny pregnant. She should have stood her ground.
It's crazy how much Leonard does for Penny, how little she does for him, yet SHE breaks up with HIM.
The half brother was quite a shock. I'm guessing they introduced him just to let us know that Penny's version of the letter was the true version.
It's odd how Leonard and Howard were mad at Sheldon for working with the military again, when the real villain was the colonel for only bringing Sheldon back. The real shocker was that they compared Sheldon to Thomas Edison.
Raj speaking to Penny while sober was one of the coolest things ever.
I would have preferred it if Amy didn't lash out at Sheldon and he gave his original speech, but his final speech was a nice one
I don't see what was wrong with Raj and Penny sleeping together. They were single at the time.
Howard's mom's death wasn't shocking at all. Carol Ann Susi passed away in real life so it only made sense that they were going to kill off the character sooner or later
Sheldon's proposal certainly was a shock.
Beverly did nothing that needed forgiving

I knew Penny was going to get pregnant and I knew she would be a great mother because she does have parental instincts. You can tell she has parental instincts and would be a great mother based on how she treats Sheldon. Once she realized Leonard can have a child by someone else she got on board. Yeah, I knew it.
Sheldon did not sell out his friends. Shannon was equally upset about the military taking their project. In fact, he was more upset than they were. Did he betray them afterwards yes. But hes not the reason why the project stopped in the first place. get your facts straight.

Raj, must be a looser in bed, why else would he ask penny, not to tell anyone he didnt get a chance.
Leonard is an ass trying pushing Penny to say I love yiu, then gets pissy.
Sheldon looking after himself, not surprised
Amy finally getting through Sheldon, and tells him off.
I wonder how Leonard would have felt, if penny kissed another guy, and confessed, yea he would sulk, and ask why, and whst he looked like

reply

I don't think Penny being happy about being pregnant was a shock. Scenes from her teens and showing Leonard that she saved their first pregnancy test (I didn't save all of them) shows she maybe didn't think she could get pregnant. She did (sometimes) use birth control but maybe didn't trust it? (Their second date) That could be the reason she told Leonard she didn't want children. no pressure if she didn't have a child.

Another honorable mention: Amys father thanks Penny for telling off his wife at their daughters wedding after being silent the entire episode.
It wasnt so much a shocker about the character (it was his first appearance in the show) as it was about the fact that he was portrayed by Teller, the famously silent magician. For many, this was the first time we heard him speak.

Controversial opinion but the more I rewatch the show which has been a couple of times over the last couple years. from start to finish the more and more i dislike Bernadette and Amys character and I recently finished watching the show.
and I think Sheldon should have gone on a date with the person that passed the ridiculous quiz Howard made

reply

I am reminded of how significant this show has been in my life. The actors become characters that I cared for; they portrayed people who I befriended and came to love. Wow, that is acting that brought a story to life. Great television (great literature) do we rank it with Oedipus Rex and Moby Dick - I wonder.
reply

I have a tie and they both involve Amy. The first is when she unleashes her fury on the other two men who are trying to take credit for their asymmetry. Your frauds. The other is when she tells Sheldon, via video message, that she is going to break up him as he wonders what to do with the engagement ring.
reply

You missed this one. the episode when Ami made Sheldon apologize to Howard. Sheldon explained to Bernadette's father, what a good woman Ami was, and Whack! now fetch me two beers. That satisfying grin as Ami crept to the kitchen was shocking, and top three for me.
reply

#8 I genuinely expected his half brother to try and take the house or something. The fact that they kept it more wholesome and he was genuinely just curious about a part of his family he hadn't known about was really a good way to go with it.
reply

The moment where Leonard forgives Beverly for her mistreatment of him is such an emotional scene. Despite knowing that she likely doesn't deserve forgiveness, and shows no real remorse, he still chooses to do so anyway, proving his maturity.
reply

I dont care what people say, but Sheldon kissing Amy for the first time, on VALENTINES DAY no less, was for sure the most shocking moment for me. More shocking than the proposal, even.
reply

Amy making a snide remark that Howards relationship with his mother is incestuous.
It was a mixture of shocking, hilarious and in a way relieving to finally hear someone say it!

reply

Sorry but waking up to the realization you where with someone you would absolutely never consent to isn't funny. Its traumatic! It has no place in entertainment.
reply

The moment whe Leoard was dreamig (we did't know that's a dream) after first wedding with penny. In the dream Sheldo kissing Penny. I was absolutely shocked.
reply

Sorry but the narrator of this video is really off putting. No need to elongate the pronunciation of certain words. Could not finish the video because of it
reply

I WOULD say the most shocking moment in the Big Bang theory was any time that the show was actually funny but unfortunately, they never pulled that one off.
reply

Raj finally speaking to any woman in the Season 6 finale to overcome his selective mutism is considered one of the most shocking moments in this show!
reply

Why have real feelings for made-up people, it's just a sitcom not real life. Things like this should be shelved like any other unrealistic book or movie.
reply

One of the best times was when Sheldon was giving his acceptance speech and laid aside his selfish speech and steped forward into adulthood. just saying.
reply

It's the reveal Sheldon planned on proposing to Amy and nothing else is even close. Never should have been bunched together when he finally did propose.
reply

1: 51 I don't really think Will Wheaton manipulated Penny to win the bowling match. The card game, yes, but the bowling match I just don't see it: )
reply

I absolutely LOVED that Howard's half brother, Josh, is played by Robbie freaking Shapiro, Matt Bennett. I wished he was in more episodes
reply

#3 will always get me. i didn't know the actress died. that made that moment WAY sadder & out of nowhere for me. the rest are on point
reply

Cringey As It Is I Owe Alot To The Big Bang Theory and I watch cringey shows all the time like Power Rangers so I'm In familiar territory
reply

I loved it when Sheldon realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Amy and flew all the way out there to propose to her.
reply

You missed a big one. when Amy was working up to saying I love you to Sheldon for the first time, only for him to say it before she did.
reply

Mary Cooper (Sheldon's mom) and Alfred Hofstadter (Leonard's dad) getting together should have at least gotten an honorable mention.
reply

When will the elevator get fixed?
We're still working on it. Wait just a bit longer.
I've done my waiting! 12 years of it!
