My number one favorite underrated Celine song (in English) is without a doubt the title song from Unison, which I think is one of the best dance tracks she's ever recorded. It deserved a shot as a single in the U. S. but didn't get it. I think it could have demonstrated her versatility better than (If There Was) Any Other Way (which, don't get me wrong, is still a great song too. By the way, Any Other Way, for me, brings to mind Taylor Dayne's Don't Rush Me more than anything by Madonna. And I was glad to see Water from the Moon on this list - the money note at the end of the bridge sends chills up the spine.
My top five would also include Have a Heart (from Unison, Halfway to Heaven (from Celine Dion, Nothing Broken But My Heart (from Celine Dion - it was a #1 hit on the AC chart but seems to be pretty much forgotten now, and her duet with Stevie Wonder remaking his hit Overjoyed (on Loved Me Back to Life. Personally I do find her earlier English albums more interesting because they seem to feature the same sort of stylistic variety found on her French albums.
And I hate to say it but from the way Ashes is stalling at adult contemporary radio that will be another one to add to the underrated list. Which is a shame because it's a GREAT song. If it were Adele singing it it would be an automatic add for most radio stations.
Honorable mention: the first song she ever recorded in English, Listen to the Magic Man from 1985. She didn't speak the language at that point but you can't tell.
Oh, and since most of her French material is likely less known to the casual Anglophone listener, I'd make a case that her entire French-language CAREER is underrated, at least here in the United States. My favorite Francophone Celine songs, in no particular order: Une Colombe, Des mots qui sonnent, Lolita, Ziggy, and Vole (original French version of Fly.

Sometimes it is better that the world to know as less as possible about this lady as her greatest fan since the age of 5 and i m now 37 years old, just because nowadays the world is more judgemental, one song can be a hit but then one can be a flop and Celine has always been given us chill. she s not just about my heart will go one she s more than that. do not worry madame. do not listen to anyone. hello from the island of MADAGASCAR. LOVE you to bites

If I'm being honest, those songs are only underrated in the United States. Those songs are played countless times throughout the world. Asia, Africa, The Caribbean, Europe, Canada, South America. I am telling you this as a fact. The songs are only unappreciated in the US due to the change in music that occurred there.

Fly was about her cousin who died as a child due to Cystic fibrosis, which is why it was extra emotive. If you want to hear high quality under the (Anglophone) radar, check out any of her French work. They are much more authentic, emotive, and less overly produced (though I do love some of her English work.

Wow I was listening to 90s Celine Dion all week and then this list perfectly came on! I would have liked to see Nothing but my broken heart be on this list but nonetheless theres a lot of great songs here especially the top listed one
reply

Well, truth to be said, these are great picks but to be kind of exhaustive (even with honorable mentions, it would take at least 4 lists for the songs in English and the same for the ones sung in French

Think Twice is underrated only in North America. It was monumentally successful in Europe and Oceania. It is the song that made her a superstar in the UK and behind MHWGO is her most recognised song.
reply

Fly or Vole as it was in its original French version was written for Celine in memory of her niece Karine who died of Cystic Fibrosis. She truly is one of the finest vocalists of our time.

My heart will go on is way too overrated. I love almost all of her songs. My heart will go on is the one that I will always skip because I heard it too often everywhere.
reply

I listened to these songs all the time, it's such a shame that they are now underrated by the public and her biggest hits, these songs deserve more credit
reply

Rather than Think Twice and Tell Him (both are two of her biggest international hits, id put Nothing Broken But My Heart and Then You Look at Me
reply

Many of those songs were not successful in the United States but in Europe, Asia and the rest of the world yes. As for example Think Twice.
reply

Everything from 9-1 are classic. Don't make this mistake again! The only person that don't know these are people who don't listen to her
reply

Number one should be Think Twice. What an achingly good breakup song from the 90s that still makes me cry and think of my long lost love
