Coming from someone who prefers villains with a backstory, I still think that someone can still be really really rEALLY dang evil and classify as a more evil antagonist even with a backstory that explains why they did what they did. (AKA someone who isnt evil just for the sake of it, like what this video is suggesting the third movie includes. I get that the target audience for this movie cant fully comprehend the ENTIRE underlying message to the bad guys can be good too because we all mess up but hey, gotta entertain the parents/aunts/uncles too, right? And i know its not that deep sis but this series has SO much potential to have so many good subplots and underlying tones/themes. Lol)
For example, lets take a quick analysis of Itachi Uchiha from Naruto. He killed his ENTIRE family/relatives/BEST FRIEND and spared his younger brother, Sasuke, only because he deemed him unworthy of death. Like damn. Thats a pretty evil dude if Ive ever heard of one, and even though all my friends who have seen Naruto claim that he is redeemed-ish later on, I still have a hard time believing that (considering that I havent watched that far. Also, its a bit late for this, but SPOILER ALERT. But hey, thats the thing about villains: even if they have a backstory that explains WHY they did what they did, depending on the severity of their actions, the backstory may not be good enough to redeem them. And TBH, thats what Im want in Descendants 3: a villain who has done things even more terrible than all the other antagonists have done, but with a backstory just crappy enough that they cant be redeemed in comparison to the Core Four or Uma (who I also want to see become good. I want a Disney villain modeled after a classic, like Scar or maybe even with a facade like Lotso from Toy Story 3. Just my thoughts.

I'm also hoping that Jay and Carlos get a little more screentime as I feel Descendants 2 the male leads got a little shafted. Carlos is my favorite and I'd love to see more development on his and Jay's Side like they said in the video Jay inherit some of his father Jafar's magic since he was a genie and as for Carlos, Cruella really didn't have any magical powers so idk where they could go with him, maybe fill a stronger support role; best friend status with Prince Ben, a male confidant for Ben cause let's remember their teens and there will be things that both boys and girls will have trouble confiding in their boyfriend/girlfriend at least at first. Bottom line as two of the main characters Carlos and Jay deserve a bit more screen time.

I think that they should introduce the characters opposites such as Peter Pan, aerial, Aladin and etc. but I would also like to see Peter Pan a s a bad guy because he hated the fact the Beast and bell took away the pirates which I think was a game for him and his lost boys and also some wonderland characters I would love to see what side their on.

Yea I know Carlos and Jay have girlfriends but I felt their relationships were well rushed I love the girls separately, just dont dig them with the boys.

If people want to know the history between Mal and Uma read the books. Which a 4th one is coming out next year before the third movie. And I have a theory that Harry has a crush on Uma again read the books for that though not opposed to him being gay for Gil.

I do agree that Mal and Harry should have more scenes in the third movie. Their chemistry sizzled in the second movie. I love how in the villain song, Harry is mocking her and dear, sweet Jay is right there protecting her.

#1 is actually in the Descendants books, so if you want to know Mal and Uma's history just read them, they're pretty good and have lots of background info on the VK's and such.
