I've been physically paralyzed from the waist down since I was 6 weeks old and I've been driving an electric wheelchair since I was 2 years old. I'm 20 years old now and I want to be a model with all my heart. (My favorite model of all time is Brooke Shields) There was a contest at the mall here in San Antonio, TX I entered it but they docked me one point because I couldn't get on their catwalk and there was no ramp for my chair. My sister who's really into photography has been helping me take pictures. I signed up for the Barbizon modeling agency I got a phone call letting me know they got my submission but they weren't looking for people with my physical description right now. They also said that it didn't matter whether I was in a wheelchair or not I could still be a model and they said I should keep an eye on my email which I've been doing. Anyway, that's my story do you think I should wait for an email like they told me, or do y'all know any other ways I can get started sooner?

As someone that goes through a lot of fashion collections online, Ive definitely notice the shift in recent years. Sadly it still mostly reflects in super-skinny models, but people are favoring girls with a different look now.
If yall want to see an amazing diverse designer, check out Christian Siriano! He uses models of all races, ages, and sizes. Hes miles ahead of pretty much every big name designer in the industry.

All people come in different shapes, heights, sizes, skin colors and more. NOBODY IS THE SAME. But everyone is beautiful in each way. I love that there are unique models, that shows you don't have to be perfect to be beautiful

I'm pretty sure alter-ego was not the correct term. As Daphne Selfe and Liu Xianping are too completely different people. I think the terms counterpart or maybe contemporary would be more accurate.
