Snape deserves to be #1. McGonagall is cool, but cmon! Snape /died to protect his students. /
She does also show favouritism towards Gryffindor. Not as severely as Snape, but she does routinely perform mental gymnastics to spare Gryffindor from losing the House Cup, same as Dumbledore tbh.
At least Snape is obvious about his contempt for others. And he did kind of have to be mean to Harry to protect him. It may have also looked weird if he only dug into Harry, so I assume he was generally unpleasant to throw suspicions off but also obviously because children remind him of his own unhappy childhood.

how can Trelawney be over Flitwick and Slughorn? And she didn't earn her a place at Hogwarts because of the prophecy, Dumbledor was affraid Voldemort would kill her if he didn't protect her, thats why she got hired. And Dumbledore didn't die trying to defeat Voldemort, he was just too tempted by the resurrection stone/the last deatly hollows

It is just hard not to love McGonagall. She's lowkey about it, but she's a badass powerful witch. Yet she has such a kind and noble heart. While she's very stern, she actually also has a great sense of humor. She's just so interesting and cool. Loved her appearances when reading the book. And Maggie Smith is just made for this role.

For specifically unforgettable professors, Umbridge should have been given an Honorable Mention, however dishonorable she may have been. Shes agreed by most of community as the worst, most evil character in the series, and her tenure at Hogwarts cannot be forgotten, no matter how much we might wish it.
