If Mowgli had Disney budget and CGI it would be unstoppable.
Nothing wrong with CGI in Mowgli; I think its fantastic for something more like anthropomorphic beings. An example would be Argonians and Khajiits from Elder Scrolls, but for regular animals giving them facial features its a bit uncanny. It's great for storytelling, but it takes a hit on aesthetic value yes; and that's always something that should be done when the issue arises.

Nevertheless, Mogwli had a great feel and it made me learn that I had lived a lie my whole life. Jungle Book is not like the main source and instead goes and tells its bs Disney stories.

Kaa was a good guy the whole time. The gender bend is fine, because it was really a sausage-fest in the Kipling story. However, I think Bagheera is better off as female and Kaa kept as original (male) But I'm getting side tracked here, Mowgli is the superior film hands down.

Hey! don't I didn't realize you swithced the points from The Jungle book to Mowgli to jungle book BACK TO MOWGLI then back to jungle book, they're are alot more things that mowgli is better than The Jungle book, it it more related to the book, not the animated one. it has a realistic feeling alright, not everything is going to be happy go lucky, it has more facial expressions better than The Jungle book, great cast, etc. What you did there was dumb, and you put it up to ONLY 3 POINTS! So you basically based it off from your opinion. Not that i'm saying you can't have you own opinion, I'm saying you switched the points back and forth till it reached 3 points on the Jungle Book. So my final statement is that the Mowgli is just better than the Disney version, Idc if others don't like what I say. Deal with it.

Truth is.
There is no winner. Both of these young actors were EXCELLENT in their roles and the animals? Well. As a comic book guy, I look at it as. DC vs Marvel. There is no competition. One can be big hearted and near comical at times (Marvel) and the other gives you a more realistic view (DC) lol. Because let's face it. Bears dont act like Baloo haha even tho we want them too. They can but! They more likely than not will be like that Mowgli version and I love it! So for me personally? Mowgli wins because not only what I mentioned before, but also the actor is one of my favs I love that lil guy he kills it EVERY movie lol straight heart! But Disney's Mowgli is also legend so.

They just feel more nuanced, interesting and grounded, less one note like that of the Jungle Book. I like Baloo especially. He's gruff and powerful, yet fair, with a tender and lighthearted side. Ik that's not too unique but the way they executed it made him a spectacle to see, something I didn't really feel in Disney's Baloo.

Idris Elba plays a perfect villian better than anyone, Scarlett Johanssons voice is seductive when she wants it to be (I dont mind Kaa being a girl either. Neel Sethi has scars and has developed skills to avoid danger like the pack. He cleans himself like the wolves. King Louie and his monkeys were too huge, but nobody can Baloo better than Bill Murray. Favreau did amazing except for King Louie, and the people singing (the score was great on its own. The Jungle Book taught you to stay true to yourself and enjoy the time you have in places/with people, while I didnt see a message from Mowgli

Oh my gosh! I never realized there were 2 different renditions of the live action movie in 2016 and 2018. I'm one of the few people who didn't like the animated versions so I tried to watch the first live action film in but I couldn't get into it. Then I saw your video and decided to watch Mowgli on Netflix and was mesmerized immediately. I don't know what it is but to me this newer version is the best one by far. I finally got to experience The Jungle Book under the same magical spell my friends experienced when they were kids. I finally get the hype! Thank you!

Oh my gosh! I never realized there were 2 different renditions of the live action movie in 2016 and 2018. I'm one of the few people who didn't like the animated versions so I tried to watch the first live action film in but I couldn't get into it. Then I saw your video and decided to watch Mowgli on Netflix and was mesmerized immediately. I don't know what it is but to me this newer version is the best one by far. Points to Disneys version for the CGI (phenomenal) and voice acting as well, but Mowgli represented both of those almost as well. But, having read the the original Kipling Jungle Books multiple times, I was overall disappointed in Disneys version. Serkis did a much better job of telling the story from the source materials perspective and as such was much more satisfying to my hopes of having a truer version put to screen. Though quite a few differences that were disappointing. For me, Mowgli wins hands down still.

As for the CGI? While on the surface the Disney movie may be superior, I prefer the Netflix Mowgli version. Because the Disney remake is so concerned with looking Realistic the animal characters look less expressive, and it has an uncanny valley vibe by including real looking animals that talk and act like humans.
Mowgli on the other hand is very stylised, and less focused on realism. As a result, the characters are more expressive, and it feels more natural to have them talk and show emotion.

I just got done watching the Mowgli movie and I gotta say its by far better then the Jungle Book one, I can get down with realistic CGI looking animals in movies but I also like a well written story which I felt The Jungle book did a horrible job in showing because of how kid friendly it felt. Mowgli was dark and intense and I felt extremely connected with the characters through it.

i love both. both has their own unique theme. while jungle book are more dysney thing, Mowgli give us the opportunity to see how the story would be like in in reality though the CGI is a bit exaggerated for cinematic purposes. and that's why I love the way they produced these movies unlike any other, where they make two movies of same stories, same theme and that's just confusing which make most of it's audience to made critics.

Mowgli was much better in the story detail then the Disney's live-action Jungle Book I have to say because it goes more in-depth in darker tone with the animals and mowgli's interaction with the human characters as well. You forgot to mention Benedict Cumberbatch legendary performance as Shera-Khan. He was more menacing than Idris Alba take on the villain.

Keep in mind, The Jungle Book was a reimagining of the 1967 film, which itself was inspired by the book rather than based on it. Mowgli Legend of the Jungle, however, is much more faithful to Rudyard Kipling's story, has a much better cast, and actually portrays expression in the characters thanks to Serkis' use of motion capture

It's unfortunate that both of them stray from the actual book. Both change the gender of the snake for no real reason because Kaa was meant to be a bit of a father figure to him. Who was a friend of Mowgli and both don't really show the full scary scene of the snake with the monkeys.

There were so much more fights in The Jungle Book compared to Mowgli: The Legend of the Jungle. Sometimes I rewatch it all the time and it feels like the first time I watched it and the fights are epic (e. x. Shere Khan vs Bagheera.

I think I enjoyed the Disney one better cause we were finally seeing a Bengal Tiger Shere Khan run through an Indian Leopard Bagheera, a Himalayan Brown Bear Baloo, an Indian Wolf Raksha, and the rest of the Pack.
