Harry potter was awful it had no character development except Snape i like the fan fiction better they are better writers i have seen many of them i liked the cartoon beauty in the beast the PageMaster and the Lord of the rings the best the Lord of the rings was the best of all of them and shouldve been number one I didnt really like the dead poets society or Harry Potter but Ive seen them though I dont remember much of the poet society because it was so long ago
I Read a lot wasnt always in to books when I was young I hated reading I had trouble with it. it took a long time to be able to read I have all these things in my head things are backwards so school was hard they made it worse by making me take Business courses which I really didnt understand and not allowing me to get out of them they also at my school put me in class is where the teachers didnt even know anything I had teachers who told me Jules Verne wrote war of the worlds and an art teacher that didnt know how to use oil paints i was more advanced reeding Shakespeare, wells, and Poe in middle school Shakespeare was easy to read where things like Steinback were nearly impossible I hated that they made us read that I could read Shakespeare all the time and Poe we barely read any of his works we never Read any Wells we just Listen to the broadcast of an tape for war of the worlds which my teacher said was by Jewels Vernon obviously he was not the right I listed off work state Jules Verne had done like from earth to the moon 20, 000 leagues under the sea and journey to the center of the earth I also told them that it was written by HG Wells and HG Wells also wrote the invisible man the time machine and the island of Dr. Moreao i read so much that i would carry a copy of the complete Works of William Shakespeare and a copy of the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe with me school is not education it is the end of education

You missed a rather obvious one--The Neverending Story. A book comes to life just by someone reading it, the characters become aware of the reader and address him directly, and in the sequel the reader actually goes right into the book. Sure, the movies aren't always perfect, especially the sequel, but the premise is a reader's dream.

The Big Sleep
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Catch-22
Ben-Hur
20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea
Doctor No
and let's not forget that chocolate factory book/movie.

Don't forget twilight. It's a classic story of true love, cause true love is something to fight and protect for. You can really see it from Jacob's prospective! But not in Edward's. Edward might not want Isabella to become a vampire, but he did persuaded it. Jacob =true love.

Nope! Sorry, Potterheads! The Neverending Story, or, The Princess Bride, should have been #1. Just sayin'. And it's pretty crummy of MsMojo to leave, The Neverending Story, off of the list entirely.

As a bookworm myself, I decided to watch Stranger Than Fiction earlier today, and it was a MASTERPIECE. I highly recommend it for any book lover out there. It's one of the best movies I've ever watched

I don't get the theme of this top 10. Is this about bookworm movies, movies based on books, or movies that have something to do with books?
And what about Neverending Story?

A majority of Potterheads dont like the movies cause they cut out major character development moments. Some goes for Lord of the Rings.

I hope that Matilda is included, as it introduced me to the pleasure of reading, and I wanted to be just like Matilda growing up!
