If youre looking for something to lift your mood and get you to hit the ground running, its time for a trip down Broadway. For this list, well be looking at those tracks from the stage to get you through whatever life throws your way. Were not saying the shows had to originate on Broadway, but at some point they must have been adapted for the stage. Our list includes Mean Girls, Hamilton, Newsies, Sister Act, Kinky Boots, and more! Join MsMojo as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Best Broadway Pump-Up Songs. 10. Dont Rain on My Parade 9. Revenge Party 8. My Shot 7. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) 6. So Much Better 5. 9 to 5 4. Raise You Up/Just Be 3, 2 & 1?

I'm a little sad Freak Flag from Shrek didn't make the actual list.
I was a part of my high school's version of it and everyone there agreed that it was the most fun song to perform out of all of them.
I think it was because it spoke to us; we were all weird in our own way, but we all loved and cared for each other in all of our weirdness, and embraced it to its fullest extent. It's actually my favorite musical I was ever a part of.

If Im looking to pump myself up, I dont use You Cant Stop the Beat, I use Good Morning Baltimore.
My Shot is way too high. Thats absurd.
Also, where in Musical Gods name is Do You Hear the People Sing, King of New York, and Prologue from Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812? What about Tomorrow from Annie? If youre not inspired by it, youre LYING.

While none of these are terrible choices, they aren't what I would have chosen. Instead of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme, I would have said Dancing Queen. Instead of Hairspray, I would have said Flashdance. Instead of the last song, I would have chosen Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Mis.

This is from 3 years ago but I don't know a more appropriate place to say it, it made me so happy to see Nick Cordero singing and dancing! When his son gets older he'll be able to watch his father doing what he loved, Rest in sweet Heavenly peace Mr. Cordero

I know this list came out before Hadestown was wildly known but if you ever do an updated version Livin' It Up On Top should be on here. I start dancing and get so pumped listening to that. Hadestown has such a good (underrated) soundtrack.

Literally every song from Newsies hypes me up (Except maybe The Bottom Line. I listen to the soundtrack whenever i need a boost. Personally my favorites for that are Brooklyn's Here, Seize The Day and Watch What Happens (Reprise)
reply

Revenge Party definitely deserves a spot on this list because the urge it gives me to dance was the thing that made me decide to listen to the entire Mean Girls soundtrack, and now I'm obsessed and on Wednesdays, I wear pink.

Not me a Dear Evan Hansen fan watching through this part of the video four times trying to find Mike Faist. You definitely have the wrong person because that person is for sure not me!

reply

I'm very late to this video but revolting children from Matilda should've made this list because holy shit I've never wished I was a part of a Broadway dance number more than that one it's just so FUN
reply

As Im in currently in rehearsals for Footloose, opening Footloose/ On Any Sunday is hard to get all the different Melodies at the end but is always just a smiling make you wanna dance type song
reply

okay guys i called it i knew hairspray would be number one! cant stop the beat is fantastic! and seize the day is not only telling you to seize the day but helping you do it by pumping you up!
reply

Me sees that Seize the Day is second on the list: well what could be better than Newsies?
Sees what number one is: youve got to be kidding me! TIME TO STRIKE FELLAS!

reply

Ok so i was looking for legally blonde musical clips and this came up and then i see mamma Mia and now this is so much better (that was a legally blonde reference)
reply

Question please please please todays top 10 list top 10 Czech (I dont think thats how you spell it) Broadway songs a number one can be a musical from something rotten
reply

Good choices. I was looking forward to seeing Kinky Boots on the list. Both the Act 2 finale Raise You Up and the Act 1 finale Say Yeah fit this category.
reply

i had a solo with dont rain on my parade i won 6th place overall with that solo! it was a musical theatre solo! i also won 1st place in my category!
reply

Anyone else here to correct them on the fact that we were dreaming about what to do with 96, 000 loooong before we were not throwing away our shot?
reply

I think sincerely me should be on the list at some point, and i also think ' Learn to do it' from Anastasia should be on this list at some point.
reply

Speaking as a fanboy and as someone who played Bobby Strong, the lack of the Act One Finale and Run, Freedom, Run! from Urinetown perplexes me
reply

Saw Billy Porter sing Don't Rain on My Parade and was blown away. I have always loved the song and Streisand singing it but he is up there.
reply

Do you hear the people sing is the song that that transitions Les Mis from a moving drama to a kick ass musical. It should have been on here
reply

cheeky and cheesy but supercali from mary poppins or at least that's how you know enchanted circle of life lion king those are too pumped up
reply

I cant believe there arent Newsie's Watch What Happens, etc. can be the best songs to play while people to rebel against oppressive systems.
reply

Defying Gravity is only an honorable mention! REALLY! The secondary title to that tune may as well be, 'Your Getting Pumped Jam'!
reply

Great list. Number 1 I def agree with.
I still feel Two by Two from the book of Mormon shouldve been in there.

reply

Sincerely Me and Fame should have been Top 6. But also, this video had me dancing throughout so I'm satisfied.
reply

I would say that Go, Go Joseph, Do you Hear the People Sing or Red and Black, and What's the Buzz
