The original teen rom-com became a pop culture sensation and this is everything we know about the To All the Boys sequel so far. There are already two sequels on the printed page: P. S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean. So, we have a few ideas about what Netflix has in store for us. MsMojo discusses everything we know about the To All the Boys sequel. Are there any details we missed?

the old john ambrose was perfect for the role the dude who was in it for 5 seconds? okay lol. lbr they needed to cast someone who could match noah in charm and it's clear they never expected the movie to be as popular as it was and they cast the old dude for the sole purpose of fan service and never meant for him to have a bigger role and then when they found out they got a sequel they realized they actually needed to put more effort into casting him. they needed someone who can believably walk into that movie and have you actually believe would be a threat to peter kavinsky and sorry, but old bland white dude who never even got one line ain't it. jordan's insanely charismatic and the producers mentioned how they auditioned thousands of people for that role (which goes against the they wanted a bigger star argument some of y'all are making) and they landed on jordan due to how likeable he was. anyway, i'm sure some of the fandom crying about that casting will most likely change their minds when the movie actually comes out. also the casual racism some of the fans have displayed re: that casting is embarassing af.

I love john more than peter and honestly think they should be together. They are so cute in the second book and I love him so much and I think he is a better person and better match for Lara jean.
SPOILER ALERT
john and Lara Jean don't end up together, peter wins in the end and whilst it was a sweet ending in the last book I still wish john had ended up with her.

It's not that i don't want the movie to be successful on the contrary, but since TATBILB is my absolute favorite book, the movie broke my heart at so many levels but i was still happy with the casting. Now that they changed John Ambrose McClaren (and the way he was first introduced btw) i don't think I'll even bother to watch the sequel

Im so mad they recasted John Amberose. They shouldnt have gave him a face in the first movie if they didnt intend to give the role to thar actor. The new actor looks nothing like him! They never do! I just wish at this point they didnt give him a face in the first movie. Nothing against the actor just the way things played out.

That really bugs me that they casted Jordan to this role I don't know maybe he'll do a great job but part of what went great in the first movie is that instead of focusing on casting Famous people they made sure the actors had a great chemistry, and now because it's a recast it's obvious they no longer care about that.

I love this film because not only the plot or the fame that it got cause it is a child of Netflix but because the main characters and especially Lana Condor as Lara Jeans. An Asian girl definitely got some differences from a white girl.

I loved Jordan in RENT live. But I liked the first guy as John Ambrose better. But hopefully the recasting won't be that bad. Also I'm super glad that Ross Butler is coming in as Trevor, Peter's best friend. So excited for the sequel

I still cant get over the fact that Jordan Burtchett wont be playing John Ambrose. He was way too perfect and dreamy for the role. And I even just read the 2nd book imagining him as John. The world is soo cruel.

Im 23 and still love teen movies like this movie whats wrong with me probably because I was a dork as teenager and always wanted that perfect teenage heartthrob moment with the popular guy in school. Lord helo me
reply

I love this movie because the main character isn't a tall skinny white girl. It's an Asian girl (don't get me wrong, she is extremely beautiful Asian or not) but finally a movie features another race: )

Im actually happy they recasted John Ambrose. Although the original actor looked more like the book version of him, it rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. I hope this change will be refreshing: )

Yall need to calm down about the recasting. Its really not that deep LMAO the other guy didnt say anything in the first film and yall are saying that he was perfect for the role?
reply

At first, I didn't think that there was a need for a sequel. Then I found out that the book's author released two other novels. So. nevermind! Bring on the sequels!
reply

Also Jacob is way better than Edward. Edward just sorta creeps me out a little. But I also hate the way Bella acts. Kristen Stewart is awesome but I just don't like Bella.
reply

I hated the movie. Thats all, I know its hard to make a movie out of a novel, BUT this is more based on the novel, since they remove essential things from the book.
reply

I loved John Ambrose in the book he was always my favorite but now that they have an actor that looks nothing like described in the book it bothers me so much
reply

Did they switch up the actor for diversity? Ffs Im all for equality but not everything needs to be changed just to feature a rainbow
reply

I cant wait for the second to all the boys Ive loved before sequel. Im so excited for it. I love laura jean and peters relationship.
reply

can y'all please stop complaining about josh ambrose not being playes by jordan burchett, jordan fisher is great for the role
reply

While Im all for film continuity, I cant be mad at them recasting John Ambrose. Jordan Fisher is just too precious.
reply

From what i see, I think Jordan Fisher is a major downgrade. I mean the first choice to do it is a perfect choice!
reply

This is literally the first time I am seeing your face! Well, you are different than I what I had expected!
reply

Don't get me wrong. But that's not the John Ambrose McLaren that i imagined while reading the books
