It's obvious that they end up together! I HAVE NO DOUBTS. Here's why:
I just started watching the series again, and you can see it already in season 1 in episode 1 and 2 even though Jess is still not there.
There are obvious hints on how the story repeats itself. for example:
- Rory's real name is Lorelai Gilmore too
- There is a scene were they are angry at each other after discussing about going to Chilton; Rory is laying in bed, she tells her mum to leave her room, she turns on the radio and a specific song plays. then you see Lorelai doing the same in the living room (she lays on the couch, turns on the radio, and the same song plays.
- Lorelai mentions several times in episode 1 how they are the same, she understands her in everything that she does or think (cause she did the same, for example when Rory doesn't want to go to Chilton after meeting Dean. After all, youre me, she tells her daughter: someone willing to throw important life experiences out the window to be with a guy.
- In episode 2, Lorelai and Rory are walking through the street, they stop outside Lukes cafe, and Lorelai asks Rory if she thinks Luke is cute; Rory tells her not to date him if not they wouldn't have anywhere to get the coffee from after they broke up. a few seconds later when they leave (they continue walking, you can see Luke getting out of the cafe looking at them in the distance (he was probably hoping they would go in, cause he wanted to see Lorelai. plus you can definitely see he has feelings for her (and vice versa, but I don't think Lorelai is really aware. yet. After that scene, the episode 2 ends! And that's how the last episode of the revival ends, but instead of being Luke thinking about seeing Lorelai, it was Jess looking at Rory.
- Rory gets pregnant when she's 32 (yes, older than her mum, but still not being the person she wants to be or thought she would be at that age. And she gets accidentally pregnant from a man who had consistently attempted to manipulate her emotionally, socially, and financially. Also being the perfect boyfriend in the eyes of her grandparents, who just think about money and are very classist. just like Christopher was for Lorelai

Jess was not her Luke and Logan was not her Chris. Jess was not as reliable as Luke and Logan was not as unreliable as Chris. Lorelai only really ever loved Luke. She said it herself in 6x22. She was never truly in love with Chris. She loved the idea of him. Being one big happy family w the father of her child. Rory, on the other hand, truly loved Logan. They had a real adult relationship, which Lorelai and Chris never really had, even when they were married.
Theres also the matter of what Rory really wanted in life. Lorelai loved the small town life, so Luke made sense for her in that aspect. Rory, however, was very comfortable in her grandparents world. She wants to be a successful journalist, so Logan, being the son of a big shot newspaper guy, made sense.
Also as much as there are parallels between Logan and Chris, there are just as many, if not more, parallels between Logan and Richard. You could just as easily argue that Rory is headed down the same path as Emily. Both Logan and Richard went to Yale. Logans family disapproved of Rory and Richards family disapproved of Emily. Logan was engaged to Odette and Richard was engaged to Pennilyn.
However, I dont think Rory is Lorelai or Emily. She is a mix of both of them, but she is her own person with her own story. Theres no telling who shes bound to end up with.
However, imo there is absolutely no way Rory, Jess, and Logan r headed down the same path as Lorelai, Luke, and Chris. First of all, Jess doesnt even live in Stars Hollow. Second of all, there is no way in hell Logan would let Rory raise their child on her own. He has shown absolutely none of Chriss unreliable, flightly tendencies. He and Rory were practically married in s7. Hes dependable and wants to settle down. Unlike Chris, who only proposed to Lorelai bc he felt like he had, Logan proposed to Rory bc he genuinely loved her and wanted to start a family w her.

Yall saying the Lorelai belonged with Chris are idiots period. Chris was extremely flaky, toxic and jealous of her friendship with Luke while they were together. He was flaky and shady throughout the entire show. Showing up whenever he felt like it, being an inconsistent presence in Rory's life AND Lorelai's. He was FORCED to be a real dad to Gigi because Sherry split. He was constantly making decisions for Lorelai without talking it through with her and so much more. Christopher was not a mature or stable man.
Luke on the other hand, was a complete doormat to Lorelai and Rory both. He cared for them both deeply and it showed, but they took advantage of Luke's kindness any chance they could and that's toxic as well. Taking over tables at his restaurant to plan the wedding although he asked her to put them back because it was his place of business, not her personal office. Calling him and asking him to close the restaurant to be at her beck and call constantly, and so much more. He just tolerated and enabled her behavior because of his feelings, that was NOT okay.
Max was just a mess all around. Knowing he wasn't supposed to date a parent but pushing her to do so anyway. Toxic, toxic, toxic!
I could go on for days about each person, but the common link and toxic factor was Lorelai herself. Rory too learned to be JUST as toxic as both of her parents. They preyed on Luke's kindness and generosity. Max was really just annoying, pushy and controlling. I hate most of the characters in this show. Luke and Jess seemed to be the most stable and solid in the end (A Year in the Life) and I found that to be the most awesome thing ever!

it's kind of fine they aren't together becuz:
jess: has his own issues and his own baggage with his family, background, and wasn't emotionally ready yet. even when he does date Rory, he doesn't treat her well. he does love and care about her but still treats her bad and makes things worse he wasn't ready or doesn't know how to be a good boyfriend since he has a lot going on.
which is why he Grews up he is ready and mature to be there for Rory.
Rory: does love jess but more focused on the Carrer first then relationship 2nd. even though she cld've break up with dean to be with jess but cldn't because of pressure of stars hallow society and of course her grandparents that got her so hesitant to and 2nd guess themselves and need to experience different things. she got worse in the revival and is making bad decisions, jess as friend is what she needed in her life, but I don't think she's good enough to jess.

Team Jess. The chemistry was always there from the beginning. She couldn't hide it anymore even though she was with Dean. Dean turned into a major hot head. Never liked him. Logan was a rich spoiled brat. And took her down this path. Logan didn't really care she wasn't in school. That was sad. He did mention a few times but no real push. He was to busy with trying to get rich quick. He did change a little in the end but then in Year and life was a jerk again. But Jess kept her grounded and could push her. She only had great chemistry with Jess. But maybe because it was real since they really dates.

Am I the only one who never liked Jess? I know he had to figure himself out but he was a very negative influence on Rory when they were together. He even went to Yale to ask Rory to come with him so that they could go away together. I don't understand why people keep defending Jess. He was always sulking. He never reciprocated his actual feeling until everything got out of hand. Even though I don't agree with so many things Dean said or did, he had absolutely every right to be jealous of Jess and be afraid that he's going to take Rory away from him which he did. I mean it's just pure instincts.

Let's talk about Rory's couples.
Jess now is to good for she but obviously is the dream couple because now he is mature, he support her and they have a lot in common.
Logan is her second best option only if he are not already married, because probably is the dad of her baby both are cheater, immature and arrogant but if they grow up they can be a perfect couple and very compatible.
Dean is the last option or the second depending on Logan we don't know if Dean already grow up and let behind all his flaws but same as Logan they can grow up together and be a good couple.

Jess was the one. She said she was in love with Logan when she went to Philadelphia to see Jess, but then she turned down his marriage proposal. Dean didn't have a shot. She was never in love with him. Only way Jess and Rory could've worked is if they were in a place away from Stars Hollow, but close enough to visit. That way, they could be themselves. Sometimes her Mom was keeping her from growing up. You have to be able to make mistakes sometimes. What you do after is how you grow. Jess wasn't perfect, but he learned how to overcome.

I am completely certain that Jess was the right man for Rory. He is the perfect example of a boy turning into a man, yes he was the way he was when they first met, but he changes so much when we see him again in season 6 and then in a year in the life. Jess is also the only one of Rory's boyfriends who knows her, like really knows her, everything he says to her when she drops out of Yale and when she doesn't know what to do in a year in the life. So yes go Team Jess.

The way I see it is that Rory's character went downhill since the moment Jess left the show. What were the writers thinking, you'd want to write a developed main character who grows and the fans can look up to but nope she became a cheater, spoiled, self-centered brat who thought she deserved the world. If it weren't for Jess's wake up call to go back to Yale or write that book her life would have been more miserable.

Jess 1. 0 was repeatedly hurtful/disrespectful towards Rory and everyone she loved. Did he have a rough childhood that explains his behavior? Sure. But people like that need to be single until they work through their issues and stop lashing out at others. Its ok to be friends with them and help them, but its not ok for girls/boys to be in relationships with volatile and hurtful people to save them.

Jess had the best character development of the entire show, without question. Hes grew so much and really turned out to be great person by the end of it all, while Rory and even Lorelei were questionable by the revival. Logan was the best, logically, for Rory, I think, but Jess was her soul mate and will always be her true love.
We all love Jess.

Rory ending up with Jess is the only outcome that makes sense. He's had the most growth and character development. I think she was her best self with him. The writers should give as a sequal to the story with Rory ending up with Jess. He is a mature and responsible man still very much in love with her

Tbh I dont think Jess would have grown the way he did if they stayed together. I feel like he would have felt like he was in Rorys shadow. They needed that time apart for him to become the beat version of himself. I almost do with they got back together when her a logan go on their break.

I think the only issue is that its Luke + Lorelai OR Jess + Rory because if Luke married Lorelai, Jess and Rory would be already related, and same if Jess + Rory were married. But I think the producer wanted Luke to be with Lorelai, therefore having Rory with Logan

I think that the perfect moment this timeline could branch off is when Jess came in and influenced Rory to get her life back together. Considering how unlikable Rory's character was in the last few seasons, I think it could be a complete spinaround of her character.

The better question would have been, What if Rory had married Logan like she should have? The world would have been her oyster, she would have a great news writer, head of the news paper and they wouldn't have had to sneak around cheating on anyone else.

Honestly, Jess is way better off without Rory. She would have held him down if they stayed together imo Years later Rory is still the same, flailing around trying to make something stick, whereas Jess has progressed way past her
