Whoever made this list obviously doesnt understand the main characters point.
10. Edgar. He was hungry for fame and didnt care if the cats suffered which proves his selfishness and narcissism.
9. Maleficent. I love her but Im not justifying her actions. Just because she wasnt invited to a party doesnt mean she has to cast a spell towards Aurora but if the citizens didnt want Maleficent there then there was a good reason why and thats because she was evil.
8. Robert Callaghan. Same wi5 Maleficent, just because his daughter didnt came back after some sort of testing doesnt mean he can go on a rampage and start commiting murder. He should be held accountable and not the villain.
7. Yzma. Ill admit that Kuzco was a brat who only wanted everything he wants which is a sense of brattiness and spoilt but at least he developed into a good chsracter after realizing the consequences for his actions but Yzma took it too far by trying to murder him which is not a good solution since there are some bad people who realizes their actions and tries to make the world a better place.
6. Captain Hook. This is a hard one. I definitely sympathize with Captain Hook and have empathy for him for Peter Pan feeding his hand to a crocodile but going after Wendy and the other kids doesnt make it better but makes it worse.
5. Shere Khan. I think that humans should be held accountable for trying to kill animals but was Mowgli the real villain? Everything he did was that he wanting to stay in the jungle and be with his friends such as Baloo because he felt that the jungle was his own homel He never thought about betraying his fiends and killing the jungle so Shere Khan is still the villain.

Ursula did helped a lot of people but that certainly doesnt forget that she cheated by flipping the boat preventing Ariel to kiss Eric and impersonating a woman by using her voice since the deal was for Ariel to kiss Eric so that she can complete her biggest achievement of her life was to explore the humanworld rather than staying a mermaid for the rest of her life. Ariel wanted to go to the humanworld so she didnt left her family for Eric, she left because she wanted to he part of the humanworld and had a dream about the humanworld. Ariel may had flaws but she isnt the villain of the story as she saved Eric from drowning which is a heroic act, saved Flounder from being eaten from the shark in the beginning, didnt cheat on the contract and just listened to what Ursula said to accomplish her dreams, apologized to her dad and said that she whispered I love you Daddy, thats how Ariels a good character and makes her not only one of my favorite Disney characters but one of my favorite characters and protagonists of all time. Sorry for the long rant since I just get sick and tired of people missing the point of the movie.
3. Scar. Scar was a master manipulator and didnt had any remorse for his actions. He killed Mufasa so that he can steal the throne then manipulated Simba into believing that he is responsible for his fathers death so that Simba doesnt come back. The. he proceeded to play the victim and puts the blame on the hyenas when Simba calls him out.
2. Hades. Hes still the villain by taking away Hercules strength and basically captured the gods and Zeus so that he can rule the world instead of Zeus.
Mother Gothel kidnapped Tangled for her hair, gaslighted her and abused her emotionally. So no, shes still the villain.
Havent seen the Incredibles yet, only seen the first half.

But Aurora's Grandpa is her dad's father. And he fears the Fairy Kingdom and declares war on it. At this time he has a son (Prins Steffan) and is King in the human kingdom. And as a child, his son (the Prince) becomes best friends with Maleficent (dark fairy race) who is also a child. And eventually the prince gives Maleficent a necklace as a gift as a sign of eternal fidelity. And they also begin a loving relationship. On her 16th birthday, Maleficent is chosen as the fairy kingdom's protector. And her fairy powers have gotten stronger. And she declares war on the Kingdom of Humans. And when the prince does not reappear as agreed, she gets to know the betrayal of man. She gets sad, and she gets love's sorrow in her heart. And when she wakes up to find that her wings have been cut off. She becomes very angry and develops a hatred for humans. And then she takes a stick and thumps the ground three times. There is also a huge thorn bush growing around the entrance to the fairy kingdom. She also visits the kingdom of humans and discovers that Aurora's Dad is the Prince who once made his promise and she finds her wings locked inside. Then she says: On your daughter's 15th birthday, she will stick herself on the stingray on which yarn is spun and fall into a deep sleep. And only the one who loves her with a pure heart can lift the curse.

For any royal staff, if you get caught sitting in the throne playing royalty getting fired would be the least of her worries, especially back then lol.
Honorable mentions: Mother Gothel was a psycho that kidnapped a baby for her own personal gain and then she lied to her for her entire life about how the world really was. When Rapunzel finally found her courage and went out into the world and ended up finding out the truth she tried to gaslight her every step of the way. That woman is a villain. Point, blank, period.

Honestly, I think a better title would be top 10 Disney villains who have a point because the title as it is makes it sound like all the villains were justified im all the evil stuff they did when Captain Hook and Ursula are good counter-examples.
Ursula manipulated both Ariel and King Triton when they were at their most emotionally distressed state to gain power and even tried to kill our heroes.
Hook may be justified in going after Peter Pan for cutting off his hand, but he still forced innocent children like the Darlings to walk the plank if they didn't join his crew and even attempt to drown the Indian Princess

Not gonna let the Mother Gothel fly. She intentionally kept a life saving flower hidden for herself, just so she can stay young forever. Then kidnapped the princess who was born with said flowers power. What was she going to do when Repunzel eventually died? She even abandoned the daughter she did have for Repunzel just to have access to flower's power. So, no she was not in fact right all along. She set Eugene up to make him look like a terrible person when he was trying to keep his former colleagues away from Repunzel.

Mother Gothel was an authentic emotional abuser and gaslighter, very similar to one I grew up with and it's taken me years of therapy to get over, so. a firm NO to that one. Just watching Tangled the first time years ago made me sick to the stomach on account of how much Gothel reminded me of my own abuser. I've read other people's comments here and it seems most of us are in agreement on that point. If you removed Mother Gothel from the list, it would be a pretty good video.

Personally, I feel that even if Maleficent got an invitation, she would've either simply thrown it in a fire and not gone or would have just stood in a corner somewhere and not say anything.
Plus I think I read somewhere that in the time period of Sleeping Beauty, for a person of high importance and/or power (like Maleficent) to not be invited to something like that was viewed as a great insult. So it kind of makes sense why she got so angry.

But they shouted while capturing him: 'he shooted Smith'. Ratcliffe defended himself by saying that he wanted to kill the chief: John Smith jumped before. Which was actually true.

Let's not forget that even though she shouldn't have taken it out on her niece. Ursula's own brother treated her like crap n drove her from his kingdom for no other reason than that he thought she was ugly. Yeah, she went psycho n vengeful against the whole ocean in retaliation. But her hurt in being discarded by her own family is really kinda understandable

U know whats interesting about super villains in general? Theyre the only ones in the story other than the hero that isnt fitting into a mold. Some characters fear them, others dislike them and some just dont understand the villain. The cool thing about the villain though is that theyre usually paving their own way much like the protagonist.

Hades got done dirty by christianity influenced modern culture. he's actually the most competent of the realms ruling brothers, a faithful loving husband to Persephone (even the original myth of Persephone's abduction by Hades paints Zeus as the true villain, helpful to heroes who travel to the Underworld and does his job really well.

This list is really very flawed. Syndrome murdered tons of people. He was in danger and delaying the help that people desperately needed from Mr incredible. Scar too I can't believe the spin on this list of villains. Just say you like villains and move on. We all like them, they just aren't going to be painted as good guys.

How is Mr Incredible the asshole for refusing to take a child out to fight a bunch of criminals? Buddy's inventions didn't work right and he almost got blown up by the first bad guy he tried to take on. He was absolutely right to be sent home. It was past his bedtime anyway. His mom was probably wondering where he was.

This is ridiculous! Ursula was not innocent nor was she right about anything. The deal she made with Ariel was just the gateway she needed and had no intention of letting Ariel become human. I could have emphasized with Ursula if she was more like the original book, but shes a villain on all fronts.

Though I can agree/understand with most of this list, I can't agree with Ursula. She definitely lies, cheats, and manipulates in order to get her way. The part in her song to Ariel where she says she used to be nasty, but has since mended her ways is clearly a lie.

I agree Hades had some good qualities. It's a blink and you'll miss it moment, but he did give Aphrodite a nice compliment about her dress before Zeus pulled him into a side hug.

The thing with Ursula, I would argue she breached the contract. Three days as a human in exchange for her voice, a kiss would make it permanent. She interfered after 2.

If you watch lion kingits the hyenas that come up with the idea to kill mufasa when their attempt to kill simba fails. So they arent so innocent either.
