Leaving town: The way I see it is that this kid, who became popular from being nobody, got rushed by these promiscuously hot girls, who actually forgot about their friendship, at the moment they saw he was on the market. If Brooke was Peyton's friend, she should have known that Lucas was unavailable for her. Brooke got herself into that mess. Peyton spend a lot of time with Nathan being mistreated by him, finally finds a guy who respects her, I don't want you. Not Lucas fault. On top of that Lucas has to deal with evil younger brother and his crazy no-show father. It's a lot to take. This take is awful. Only seen from the women perspective. Hold the woman accountable.

I agree he has done some bad things, but this is exaggerated alot. He moving in with Dan wasnt something he did too hurt the people he loved, but to save the people he loved. I agree it lead to alot of harm, but if it had went like he wanted to, deb, nathan, KEITH and his mom would be free from Dan. Him not saying godbye to Brooke and Peyton wasnt because of him, but because they probably didnt want to talk to them. He moved away to better himself, because he didnt like the person he had become. When he lied about the heart condition, basketball was his whole life, also he didnt want to let the team down. When he he was mean to Brooke, she had just been very cruel to him comparing him to Dan when she knew how much that hurts him, plus he was stressed out because of the pregancy too. He tried to be there for him and showed that later in the episode. When he used Rachel, she was totaly onboard for it and didnt have problems with it. He even told her excactly why he did what he did, before anything happened and Brooke was super confusing during that time, even shaming him for not following her rules about dating others and pointing at Rachel(yes i know she didnt mean to point at her, but Lucas thought she did) to make him date her too. I cant take this Lucas hate. Every character did bad things, and you could make the same list for any one of the main characters. And then for Brooke, everything she pulled at the booster party in season 1 (with Haleys letter, and trying to force Peyton and nathan back together so she could have lucas, lying to Lucas face about being pregnant right after getting the call that she wasnt, sleeping with Chris, going with Lucas to the banquet in s4 just to get back at Peyton (while not even considering Lucas feelings too) and most of all, completely thrashing Peyton for what she did with Lucas while knowing fully she had slept with Nathan during his on-and-off relationship with Peyton. And then Peyton, initiating all those kisses with Lucas when he was with someone else (in the motel, in the library, at tric. Also, all of the countless times she hurt Lucas. I think he loved them both. and couldnt decide for a very long time who he actually wanted. These are teenagers so they arent expected to make the right decisions all the time. Luke had a great mom but not having a father growing up, did affect him. He was sunk because Brooke & Peyton were both great girls and he couldnt decide. When he finally did decide, I loved that he and Brooke were such good friends but that was mostly because she was such a great character. Luke was my favorite character and I felt so bad for all three of them because I loved all three of them. Ultimately, I loved Lucas/Brooke the most, mostly because Sophia Bush was so damn amazing. Luke was not perfect by far but was a pretty normal teenage boy.

the first time watching this show, i really gave lucas the benefit of the doubt, i even blamed brooke for going after lucas twice even though it was obvious peyton was his otl however rewatching this show for like the 3rd or 4th time. i am realizing how awful lucas really is, now i dont agree with the people saying nathan is any better, they both suck, but i cant believe how bad lucas was at times. its harder cuz he is our main character and he means well, but boy can he be unthoughtful. like any girl hes with, his heart is with someone else

Than he cheated on Lindsey with Peyton, taking his denial of his true feelings to such an extreme that he almost married a woman that he didnt even love, which would have destroyed both of their lives, but fortunately Lindsey had the foresight to see what was really happening in their relationship and left him at the alter.

I am only on season 1 but he already sucks. Some of the things on this list are exaggerated. People act like Brooke didnt screw with Lucas in season 3 or that Peyton didnt make crappy choices either and dont say Lucas was a bad friend, he was literally there for everyone, even people outside of the main core: Skills, Anna, Mouth etc.

Nathan began as the jerk but he had a lot of character growth. But when it came to women, Lucas was more like Dan than Nathan. He bounced between Brooke and Peyton like Dan did between Karen and Deb. He finally settled down but for a while he was a real ass.

Lucas really isnt that bad. This could have been a top 10 worst things the characters on One Tree Hill did without singling Lucas out. Nathan and Brooke both did much worse.
