Top 10 Childhood Christmas Movies That Will Never Get Old When it comes to my childhood christmas movies nothing beats the 1998 version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I love that movie so much it is pretty much the only reason I still have my DVD Player. This DVD is also the only one I put straight back into its case when I take it out of the DVD Player because I am so afraid to break it. I watched this movie probably a million times and I will at least a million more.\r\n

The Nightmare Before Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street and Frosty the Snowman and Elf and Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol and The Santa Clause and A Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Jingle All The Way and Mickey's Christmas Carol and A Christmas Story and The Polar Express and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer are my favorite Christmas movies from Childhood on the DVD or on TV

One of the best Christmas shows ever: Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol - it has a wonderful score and used to play every year. One of my favorites. Also Silent Mouse - the story about a mouse living in the organ when Silent Night was being composed. It's darling. Does anyone remember 'The Night the Animals Talked'? Or Mitch Miller's Christmas show?

Yes Nightmare Before Christmas qualifies as both a Halloween & Christmas movie. I'd say switch places with Jingle All the Way with either A Christmas Story, The Polar Express, or Ernest Saves Christmas. Jingle All the Way is utter garbage and does nothing worthwhile and glorifies commercialism & consumerism at its worst.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is my family favorite. We watch it so many times and still laugh like it is the first time. A Christmas Story is a close second. It is special to me because it is my daughters all time favorite. Jack Frost with Michael Keaton is also one of my personal favorites

Theyll get old and offensive to you in a few years when weve gotten to the point that everything is offensive.
For example, in a few years it will not surprise me one bit if people get offended at others pointing out bad parenting. in that case, Home Alone will become offensive

No one ever mentions The Night They Saved Christmas with Jacklyn Smith and Art Carney or The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with Loretta Switt and a baby Fairuza Balk. Those were both Christmas Staples. I even did a play of the BCPE. They need some love!

I would just like to quietly add the Christmas specials, 'Olive the Other Reindeer' and 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town. '
'I'll Be Home for Christmas' is an underrated flick-even if a bit dated; cell phones today would have really troubled the plotting.

Wheres National Lampoons Christmas Vacation? My Christmas is t complete without that one. I watch The Polar Express every Christmas Eve before I got to bed. Also I have never watched The Ultimate Christmas Gift but this year I will.

Every year I watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964, Miracle on 34th Street (1994) & How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) are my favorites and to me it really feels more Christmasy watching those movies on Christmas.

Frosty, Charlie Brown, The Grinch and Rudolph aren't Christmas movies. They are Christmas Specials. A Christmas movie needs to be over an hour.
