I remember watching the finale of MASH when it first aired, having followed the whole series. My children were young at the time, and when it was revealed that the woman on the bus had killed her baby to save the others, I was crushed and horrified. I burst into tears, immediately understanding why Hawkeye had lost his mind over the event.
The Red Wedding was a close second for shock and tears, but I rate it second because I felt that way often while watching GoT.

Hearing the Red Wedding referred to as a plot twist really bugs me. The plot twist is NOT the deaths of Robb, Catelyn and everyone else, its that the Freys, Boltons, etc. are working with the Lannisters. The deaths are a consequence of the plot twist, but the Red Wedding as a whole does not constitute a plot twist, and seeing it presented on a list like this as though it does is very irritating.

I cried rivers when I watched the Mash movie. But I knew that Games of thrones the red wedding was going to end up that way. When you become king, you cannot break vows and marry for love. Rob stark did all that and more. So no surprises there. But did love, love how Arial got her revenge.

Anyone else still cant watch Mash? That one scene ruined the show for me. I still get so sad when I think of it. We have the whole collection and I just get so sad when I see it. I know its about war and we lost some great characters but that one scene killed it for me.

Game of thrones Red Wedding shouldnt have been #1 at this point its far from the most heartbreaking twist if we count the Hodor reveal. Honestly the Walking Dead pike scene and aftermath should have been higher than that scene.

Scrubs and Game of Thrones RIGHT in the feels! the Red Wedding STILL gets me in tears to this day still painful I think more so for me because I'm a House Stark fan from the beginning and that is just painful

Hodor plot twist was way worse than the red wedding to me. I don't know why but that one completely wrecked me, maybe because he was so terribly innocent and had no choice but to hold that damn door.

The HIMYM plot twist is still devastating, over five years later. Tracy was SUCH a likable character, and perfect for Ted, that it was so shocking when her death was revealed.
