I can't even begin to say how underrated this actress has been. Fine, she was great in Jurassic Park. Welcome to the tip of the frickin iceburg. Let's not forget especially how she upstaged absolutely everyone else in the third season of twin peaks. I'm not even sure I agree that she didn't flex her abilities in JP. I found her one of the most memorable characters. David Lynch is my fave director, and the fact that he loved her says it all to me.

Ellie Sattler should be higher bc it would be so easy to phone in a performance in an effects heavy film, or make her a caricature as the only female scientist in the ensemble but she is as memorable as her male counterparts bc she is a smart empathetic problem solver- Dern made that happen

Such a wonderful talented actor.
So glad to see this list for an actor who never gave a bad performance.
I must say I am partial to her David Lynch work. Her surprise as The infamous Dianne in Twin Peaks The Return was such a pleasure

She is amazing in every movie or show she is. She has so much range. I love that she is getting the recognition she deserves. Because that means, more Laura Dern to come. I hope she gets a time to shine in JW 3.

Who the heck is Richard Attenbro. I know who Richard Attenborough is, but who is Attenbro(God damn what a way to disrespect one of Britain's greatest ever actor/directors, who was a Lord for god sake.

I love Ellie, but come on, Ms. Mojo. you can't show the dinosaurs eat man line and NOT also show Malcolm and Grant slowly turning to stare at her. That's the whole punchline of the scene.

Laura Dern is one of the greatest actresses of all time. ScarJo and Adam Driver were dominated by her supporting role in Marriage Story. She's right up there with Jessica Chastain.

4: 05 - Am I the only one who squirmed when she said Richard Attenborough, why can't Americans say 'borough'.
Same with Edinburgh, 'burgh'.

Laura Dern is undoubtedly a brilliant actress, but she won for Marriage Story? And not any of her dozens of other even more brilliant roles?

I think Inland Empire should be number one. I can't imagine other actress carrying on a role that extreme besides Miss Dern.

Laura Dern is great in most of her roles except Star Wars. But Jurassic Park is the science fiction movie that fits well for her.

Not even an Honorable Mention for Smooth Talk (1985? She's amazing in that, still in her teens and already a great actress.
