How about THIS for a small detail you probably didn't notice in Grey's? Gary Clark, the hospital shooter in the Season 6 finale, actually appears as a PATIENT of Cristina and Teddy's in Season 6 Episode 9 called New History. He's there for a minor cardiac procedure bc he's having runs of SVT and Teddy is fascinated by the technology readily available to the doctors at SGMW, having just come from Afghanistan. They never mention it's actually the same guy and you never see the actor's face, but considering the importance of the character, and the age they say he is (57) not hard to imagine that bit of synchronicity. Everyone goes for procedures at their local hospital- it's pretty easy to believe and more realistic to have had Gary Clark visit the hospital before being there for his wife's fateful surgery. It's just a throwaway line and he only appears in that one scene- it's the sort of thing you would only notice if you're a hardcore Grey's fan who's watched the show repeatedly. I researched it and couldn't find confirmation either way so as far as I'm concerned, it's canon- I even went so far as to change Gary Clark's first appearance wiki.

I stopped watching the show after season 8 and even in the little I saw randomly, I knew all of these except the song title thing lol
Also, I just need to say that your number 1 small detail isn't a small detail, nor were they foreshadowing his death early.
For those that don't know this, the actor playing McDreamy was being paid about double what Grey's actress was being paid. The actress asked for his support in raising her pay while negotiating the new contracts, which he declined doing on multiple occasions during each contract renewal. Finally, they gave her the highest pay for the show (rightfully so since she is the freaking main character) and I find it highly suspicious that the year she became the highest paid on the show, he was coincidently killed off even tho he had no plans to leave.
Seems like someone didn't like being paid less than the star.

I just want to point out that in season 1 Derek is alone with only sisters as his family. By season 11, he has a wife and kids. I am not saying his sisters should not have been there. But, they live so far away, he would not have donated his organs if they waited for his sisters. I do think Amelia should have been there, but Meredith was grieving and in shock and thinking about her kids, which is why Amelia did not cross her mind. Derek in season 11 is not the same man as in season 1.

What I find funny about the scene where Amelia says she wishes she didn't know who the president was, I had watched GA a few times before and then as I was watching it a 3rd time I found private practice. I finished private practice and soon after saw that episode and found it funny. At the end of private practice Amelia freaks out about sleeping with James bc he's a Republican

I did noticed all of them. And I have one more. Well, it's more like conspiracy theory. When Ellis Grey was in the hospital and talked with Richard about their life, she lighten up when he mentioned more children. Also, when she told Meredith you remind me my of daughter, I believe she talks about Maggie.

Lol. I doubt even the writers remembered that one foreshadowing scene when Derek says if he was ever in a coma he'd want his sisters to be there. Meredith obviously didn't remember that or it would have been even worse of her to just stop life support before even telling Amelia what happened.

You missed the fact that the episode she had the dream of Derek dying was the season premiere after she meet Derek in the house of candles. The last scene that Derek and Mere are together mimic the scene at the house of candles. What he says, and the position of the kiss and everything.

They had to kill Derek off because the actor wanted to leave, it was not planned from the start in any way. The coma line is definitely not foreshadowing as they didnt even know it would happen yet. Plus Derek isnt in a coma, hes brain dead, theres a difference.

Dereks death was never planned and was actually not an idea that shonda liked but when drama came up and Patrick Dempsey was no longer wanted on the show they wrote his death. Shonda has actually said in interviews that she never wanted to kill him
