Don't know why you make so many top 10 and 'top 20. If you seen one, you've seen them all. You keep repeating yourself because you have a taste for certain movies and think because you like them everybody should. There are far better book adaptations for a start, irrespective of year, and some fall in the 10s. There's Paper Towns, The girl on the train, The girl with the dragon tattoo, Nim's Island etc etc etc. There has never been and possibly also will never be a better adaptation of a book than 1997's Lolita with Jeremy Irons. The greatest love story ever, whether in book or movie form, if you take the time to understand the story instead of staring yourself blind against popular opinion.

don't agree at all with LORD OF THE RINGS getting top place, with the practice of cutting out so much stuff while throwing in the film-makers' ideas that frankly didn't have the same effect (before THE HUNGER GAMES, I suppose that it didn't occur to anyone to get four movies out of a trilogy, which would have helped)
somewhat presumptious to be contemplate the works of Jane Austen or Louisa M Alcott along with some of these authors; LITTLE WOMEN did presume too much that everybody knew the story and could follow so the film could mess about and not tell it in chronological order.

I feel like The Maze Runner trilogy should have at least been an honorable mention, or maybe even in the low ranks. I know it's not the most faithful adaptation but I feel like overall it's still a very good movie trilogy to watch. It does a great job presenting the broken world it's set in and keeps a lot of the core relationships true, such as the friendship between Thomas, Newt, and Minho. And Wes Ball directed each movie so the style is consistent throughout.
That aside I'm glad something beat Harry Potter as #1 on one of these lists the spotlight needs to be shared.

Okay the hp movies are pretty good, but there's no way it's one of the best book to movie adaptations (there's just so much that's the movies don't show and they're not great adaptations. I am sure the book fans will agree(Ps: I love the movies too, but it wasn't true to the books so hp doesn't deserve being on this list)

I love how they changed the story in silver linings playbook, clthe characters in the film were so much loveable in comparison to the novel. This is one of movies I watch everytime I need a little more happiness and hope. It really makes my day everytime I see it.

I'm disappointed that LOTR beat HP. I'm such a hardcore Harry Potter fan. I love everything the magical franchise. Honestly, to me anyways, I think LOTR sucks as its so dull, long and boring. Whereas there's truly something magical about the Harry Potter franchise.

I love Jane Austen and Pride and Prejudice is a masterwork, but that version is a train-wreck! And why change the ending? You cannot improve on that story! Major fail. Especially at the exclusion of Little Women 2019. SMH.

IMHO. The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy should have been #2, behind TLOTR trilogy. The Harry Potter movies were good, but the books were do much better.

I love the hunger games but it's certainly not the best adaptions. way too much cut out of the books, Jennifer doesn't convince me as katniss.
