While You Were Sleeping and The Holiday are two of my very favorite films, but I knew that When Harry Met Sally would be the choice for W. It pretty much defines the rom-com genre so I can't argue with that pick. I never dreamed you'd go all the way back to 1940 for His Girl Friday for the H choice, and it turns out, I completely agree with you! That said, Notting Hill should have been the choice for N and my vote for K would definitely be Kate and Leopold over Knocked Up. Very enjoyable video!

On the whole this was quite a good list. The romantic comedy is my personal favourite genre of film, so there were a few films I would offer as alternatives. Some of the ones that spring to mind right now are:
(B) 'Bridget Jones's Diary'
(N) 'Notting Hill' (though 'Never Been Kissed' is also one of my favourite movies, so I'm not too upset about that one)
(S) 'Sleepless in Seattle'
(T) '10 Things I Hate About You'
(W) 'The Wedding Singer'

reply

A - An Affair to Remember
B - Breakfast at Tiffany's
Yes, Notting HIll for N
I read someone mentioned - My Secret Admirer
Additonal
While you were sleeping
Sleepless in Seattle
Maybe next, you could do numbers - romscoms / romance movies
10 things I hate about you
500 days of summer

Im sorry but you simply can not choose The Big Sick over Bridget Jones Diary for best RomCom film re letter B. I mean, they obviously did, but they shouldnt. And if not Bridget Jones Diary, then Bringing Up Baby. The Big Sick comes in third. At least.
reply

About Time
Big Fat Greek Wedding
13 Going on 30
While You Were Sleeping
Sweet Home Alabama
Ever After
I hope these titles were at least debated. they're freaking amazing

I don't know that I'd call Annie Hall a Rom-Com. Not sure exactly what genre to put it in, but not a Rom-Com.
Contrary to popular opinion Crazy Rich Asians was a totally FORGETTABLE movie.

Did our list all work out in the end? Here's how we, and our friends at Dear Cast and Crew, held back tears over not including certain films: dearcastandcrew. com/a-z/rom-com
reply

Thought you might get through the whole list with no Tom Hanks. Then breathed a sigh of relief at Y lol. That's a proper encapsulation of the genre as far as I'm concerned.
reply

Shame on you mrs. Mojo for putting pretty woman as your choice for the letter p. There are SUCH BETTER movies starting with p such as penny serenade and pretty in pink.
reply

B: Bringing Up Baby
C: Clueless
D: Desperately Seeking Susan
L: The Lady Eve
N: Notting Hill
S: The Seven Year Itch
T: Tootsie
U: Up in the Air

reply

The list is doable, but there are a few films in your parents and grandparents generation that should have made the list other than the few you had.

Hugh grant and Julia Roberts are like the king and queen of rom-coms! I was really hoping Runaway Bride and Notting Hill would be on here.
reply

1. Love, Rosie
2. Me before you
3. Crazy rich asian

reply

My favourite Rom-com is an unknown one from 1985 called Secret admirer. It's amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Rom-coms
reply

I would have picked:
C - Crazy Stupd Love
N - Notting Hill
T - There's Something About Mary
The rest I can agree with.

reply

Return to Me (2000)
Playing It Cool
What's Your Number
Before We Go
Decoy Bride
In & Out
Sixteen Candles

reply

My Best Friend's Wedding beat out My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Really?
This list is invalidated on that decision alone.

reply

Made of Honor trumps My Best Friends Wedding.
The Proposal trumps Pretty Women.
No offense to Julia Roberts, lol.

reply

This is the ultimate quarantine list. I wish I could go back and instead of binge watching zombi movies watch this
