You didn't mention something that is fairly well known amongst car guys. The maker of the replica car did not secure permission from Ferrari to use their badging and was sued out of business. Later a company bought the tooling and offered it for sale. I priced out the most important bits and it came to $80, 000. That's with no engine or transmission. Yeah, you could buy a real Ferrari for that. Not a good one, but a real one.

Most movie cars are Replicas. The Daytona Spider in Miami Vice is a Corvette. The Coyote in Hardcastle and McCormick is a design based on the Porsche 914. It is called a Manta Montage and is still built today. Horsepower is up to the person ordering the build. Kit Cars. These smaller car companies will build it to your desire. Even the Porsche Spider can be had. Long live the memory of James Dean.

I DO NOT CARE that Matthew Broderick was not actually signing during the parade, that he and Alan Ruck were well over the age of 18, the accident in Scotland, and the younger siblings (which I found out about in the novelized version.
And Paul McCartney ought to spend time at any Friday night high school football game. Especially at halftime (if things get back to normal.

It's implied and mentioned subtly a few times in the movie that Jeanie is younger than ferris, like when she covers for him when he's caught by the principal she doesn't want to deal with him in her next year of high school so she saves him from having to repeat senior year
reply

Matthew Broderick was only 22, that isn't very far from 18 at all. I mean you can't even really tell. And Alan Ruck still looked and sounded decently young for his age and he fit his character well. A kid who was forced to grow up fast because of who his parents were.

I saw FBDO in the theaters with some friends when it originally came out. my friends loved it, I wanted to kick ferris in the head. I loved most of John hughes movies but this one didnt appeal to me. probably cuz I hate entitled assholes
reply

It's crazy that just about 10 years after this films release Matthew Broderick looked drastically different. At this point it's hard to believe the kid in this movie is the same Matthew Broderick we know today.

I met Mia Sara at my old job she was a regular there. I almost fainted she was so beautiful and sweet. BTW alot of stars never look like they do in the movies. She looked exactly like she did in the movie.

It would have been impossible for them to go to Wrigley Field for the Cubs Game and really do anything else that day. Additionally, the Von Steuben Day parade is in Septemberand always on Saturdaynot a school day.

5: 57 I cant wait to see the look on the bastards face is perfectly ironic, because the look on Camerons face is priceless, as the car is speeding away from him out the window. just priceless
reply

After thinking about it, I realized the filmmakers needed McCartney's permission because they lip-synced over the Beatles version of the song. My mistake I guess. Still a great scene regardless.

It must be explained/reminded that driving in many European countries is on the left side. Years of ingrained habit don't delete instantly; that's likely what caused it, inequitable sentence or no!
reply

Matthew in europe killed some one and got off with a slap on the wrist meanwhile in the states a truck driver gets 110 years for driving a truck that the company failed to maintain safely
reply

The stuff about Jeffery Jones ruined not only the way I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but also Beetlejuice and Howard the Duck! Eh, nevermind, Howard the Duck already sucked.
reply

10: 09 Damn if i killed some car full of ppl I know for a FACT id not receive a fine of 175 dollars. It would be years of jail. The reality is we are NOT all equal.
reply

Don't understand the comment about the real Ferrari being used in some shots, but most of the time it was a Spyder.
The 250GT California drop top is a Spyder!

reply

none of this ruined the movie the title is just click bait the only socking thing is the ed rooney and the car crash thing but it doesnt ruin the movie
reply

Why is Mojo trying to ruin people's childhoods? With all the crap going on in the world today, I would think that uplifting videos would be much better.
reply

Twist and Shout is an Isley Brothers song so why would they need Paul McCartney's permission? Unless he owns the copyright which I kinda doubt.
reply

Interesting video. Lose the clickbait titles and you'll have more viewers I'm sure. I watched simply because it was Ferris.
reply

Of course they were fake, they had to destroy a car in the film anyway so there had to be a stand in, and so were the Miami Vice cars.
reply

What ruined it was the two chicks playing the arcade game 'Karate Champ'. There isn't a girl alive that knows how to play that game: )
reply

I don't even need to watch the full video to know that these are probably facts almost all of us already knew, and ruined nothing.
reply

This knew knowledge that they originally had two younger siblings which were cut from the script has truly ruined my childhood.
reply

Fantastic movie but I never understood why they ended it on such a dark note with Cameron vandalizing and killing the Ferrari.
reply

I've rewound and rewatched Jeannie kicking him in the face so many times over the years. My favorite part of the whole movie.
reply

don't know why jen grey got a nose job a few yrs after this, she didn't need it and I think it made her less recognizeable.
reply

What? A movie used a replica car? no way! I thought they jumped and trashed a real one! you got me! Childhood RUINED!
reply

Me: I thought it was 15
The info on the side of vid: Rating: 18
Some info websites: It has been rerated to 12.

reply

Artists and their temperament tsk tsk, I think I could get why Paul McCartney had issues if it's true of course.
