Aside from #1 (and maybe Ellen) this list seems rather lame. What about the Oprah scandals involving the authors of A Million Little Pieces and The Angel at the Fence? Or the Late Night wars over who would take Johnny Carson's place as host of The Tonight Show (I don't know if that counts as scandalous but it was a big deal at the time? All of the infighting on The View? Joan Rivers prank calling Victoria Principal or the contentious interview between Norman Mailer and Gore Vidal on the Dick Cavett Show?

The Dr Phil one is pretty terrible. Whether they provided booze or not is irrelevant to me. How could they put a drunk person on the air. It's so demeaning. They should have a duty to protect the guests dignity. Alcoholism isn't something you can easily control. The guest was not well. He shouldn't be set up for public derision for a condition like that. Have the guest on when he's sobered up and is reasonably in control of his faculties. Shameful.

I was going to be so upset if the Jenny Jones show case was not placed as number 1, there is a really good episode of Morbid a true-crime podcast that really dives into the case, including the fact that Scott's family did not receive a dime of that money that the Jenny Jones show was supposed to give to them, and how the show managed to get that sentence repealed. John actually got realized from prison in 2017. Such a sad and tragic case

Ellen DeGeneres is a terrible human being. Her justification for hanging out with Bush Jr. was weak and disingenuous. Can you imagine how victims of Bush's policies/wars/corruption would feel? It's not just about millions of people who are dead or living in turmoil both here and abroad, and it's not just about his corruption; it's the combination of all of the former and so much more. He's a villain and she's a phoney fool.

Dr. Phil does have a lot of controversy over the years now people are talking about workplace abuse on this show. Plus I used to watch Ellen quite a lot up until the pandemic hit that same year her behind the scene behavior was exposed. She may say be kind to one another but she is not so kind off camera. This Thursday will be her last show.

Okay, number 9 was a six-year old. You can't be upset at a child for parroting what they see on TV without knowing better. Should the show have handled it better? Yup. Should the show have been protested against? For having a kid on the show to talk about something the likely didn't know anything about? Um, seems a bit extreme.

How did the show win the legal battle? They are absolutely liable. To not have gauged the situation to know that this guy could potentially be so homophobic that he could kill a guy is awful. I think they also made him feel like he should feel embarrassed about it. They are at least partially liable and owe for that
