Elenas Quinceanera? That was probably the one that made me cry because when her dad stood her up for that very wrong reason yeah it shattered my heart but when her family stood around her? It just warmed me up. I have been through several occasions like that. Where my mom was the only one who had my back. Like Lydia on the show? My mothers name in real life is Lydia. She is an immigrant from Scotland a beautiful biracial lady, she was a police woman and she was married twice she has been through so much and made a wonderful life in America and is very proud of being Scottish like Lydia is proud of being Cuban, it just its so cool how much the character resembles my mom. I know I went off topic but this show is just so relatable. And lovable.

Despite being cancelled, Elena's character had perfect character development. She started out as this woke teenager from a position of superiority, realizing that not everything is a social struggle and not all traditions are stereotypes, finally understanding (not accepting) a political position that she does NOT share but for the good of the family, leaves it aside.
