I'm a 30 year old man, lots of tattoos, and always gets in a fight when i was a kid. Saw this movie 15 years ago, became my fav film of all time, watched it every year and it hits harder every time. My now wife couldn't understand why i was crying the whole time, then the revelation scene came in, this was the first time she saw this film. Now she wants to have cancer. (Sorry english isn't my first language) Anyone wants to be my second wife? Just in case? I don't want to feel love from wind.

Cant believe they didnt mention that Mandy Moore catapulted Switchfoot into the mainstream by recommending them for the soundtrack. Before that they were basically only known in the California Christian music scene. And funny enough, Mandy Moore was a huge fan of them but she was the much bigger star at the time, and the band had never heard of her before this. Switchfoots music is such a special part of this film, they should have gotten a shout out!

This movie really hit me in my emotional gut and Landon and Jamies love story was epic and iconic the fact they were really crushing on each other during filming made that much better. Just about every time I watch A Walk To Remember I cry it doesnt matter how many times you watch it _ it still moves you like your seeing it for the very first time. A Walk To Remember is one of my top 10 favorite Romance movies its got the # 1 spot on the top 10 chart.

I first read the book in high school and I absolutely loved it, but when I watched the movie, I was not pleased. The book takes place in the '50s and Jamie was blonde (ironically enough) while the movie takes place in the '90s and Jamie is a brunette. Over time, I've grown to love the movie, and it's one of my favorite tearjerkers.

More of Dawson's Creek connections: The schools are the same (painted differently) Landon's house is Joey Potter's house, and Landon's mom's car is similar if not the same as Pacey's. There are tons more of course. ;) A Walk to Remember is one of my favorite movies and I think that's mainly because of the chemistry Shane and Mandy had.

I like the creative decisions they made for the film since the book is heavily centered on the religion of Jamie. They gave all the other characters a lot more personality especially Landon and his friends. You can even ignore the religion elements of the film and it will still work. Bravo to the director and writers and everyone.

As a man, this was the first romantic comedy I purchased on my own (aside from Moulin Rouge. because that was an absolute gem too. I also had a huge crush on Mandy Moore (still do, in some ways, due to her This Is Us character. but the movie is utterly great. One of the only good Sparks movies, along with The Notebook.

Only hope was written by the Christian rock band Switchfoot. Their version of it on their album was so totally great. I'm glad the Walk to Remember people chose that particular Switchfoot song for Mandy to sing because Mandy did a really fantastic job with the song. It's my favorite part of the movie.

This film made me super emotional. Our sophomore year advisor had us watch this film for our Values and Ethics class and most of us got teary eyed by the end of it.
We were to do a reaction paper about the film afterward. One of the best coming of age films I've ever watched.

seeing the role as jess simpson or shane west would be totally different than mandy as jamie mandy much better choice still a tear jerker in the first place but jess simpson or shane west pulling off that role the way mandy did not the same way mandy would've done

Im kinda surprised but glad that Mandy Moore went from a mean girl and then into a sweet gentle person in this movie and now shes remembered for this, this is us, and giving us the character Rapunzel.
Also young Mandy Moore looks like Rapunzel: 3

Now I feel bad 4 being 2 brutal 2 the. I was only salty bcuz I thought the book was more breaking. But I'll give the actors some credits 4 acting. My mom cried watching the movie and it's good in a different way.

Love this movie. It was filmed in Wilmington and Southport, NC. I grew up in Southport. When I watch this movie not only does it hit me on an emotional level but it also makes me homesick.
reply

This is so cool, I love Walk to remember!
And hm, Mandy Moore kinda sounds like Olivia Rodrigo, maybe that's why I searched and found the music video of this movie on Drivees liscence.

I remember, as soon as I found out this movie was based on a novel, I went to buy the book so I could read it first before I watched the movie. I'm still not sure what made me cry more.

I remember back when the blonde to brunette shock was an actual thing. At least with me. This was probably one of (if not most) the best decisions of her career!
reply

Actually when she dyed her hair to blonde to brunette was so satisfying because it suits her! A Walk to remember is such iconic and i love this movie!
reply

I totally forgot Mandy was blond I was a fan before but I fell in love with both her and Shane here and have followed both of there careers since

I am an avid reader and usually think the book is always better than its movie counterpart. This is the only movie that I think is a lot better.

C'mon MsMojo. how are you going to do this to me? Almost 20 years later, all I have to do is watch a few clips and I'm STILL ready to cry!

When I want to cry and fall in love (for at least an hour) I go and watch this movie. Absolute tearjerker and still my favorite!

I loved this movie and can watch it over and over and still cry. Another one that does that to me is 'The Man in the Moon'.

While the film did recieve negative reviews, Roger Ebert was one of the few critics who gave the movie a positive review.

Now I am going to have go pull this out and rewatch. It is one of my favorite movies. I cry every time I watch it.
