The old svu team (Olivia, Stabler, Cragen, Alex, Casey, Warner, Dr. haung, munch, and fin) is wayyy better than the new svu team the only Characters that I liked in the new/modern episodes are Olivia, fin, munch, Cragen, Rafael Barba, and Peter Stone and that's pretty much it these new characters Amanda, Carisi, kat, nick, and this new guy that joined the team in season 23 or 22, and garland I just never got the same vibe it's just not the same

Another interesting thing about Mariska Hargitay is that I completely forgotten that I had remembered her from another show from 1992 called Tequila and Bonetti! If I could have vision again and see at least one episode of law and order SVU and would see her now as Benson, I would literally fall out of my chair in a complete and total shock because I would know that she is the same Mariska Hargitay!

1) Olivia Benson - Duh
2) Dr. Melinda Warren
3) Casey Novak
4) Judge Elizabeth Donnelly
5) Alexandra Cabot
6) Claudia Williams - Assistant US Attorney - She was a hard a$$ and worked hard. She butted heads at times but did try to help the detectives.
7) Dana Barret - I know she wasn't a great person in the end but she worked her butt off at her job.

I was literally blown away when I discovered that Elizabeth Donnelly was portrayed by the one and only Judith Light! Who wouldve thought that Angela Bauer from whos the boss would be an ADA, then a major DA, and then a judge on law and order SVU! Its just simply incredible and unbelievable!

Olivia Benson is not just the number one best female character in Law and order SVU, she is the freaking SVU! Whether she is a detective, a sergeant, a lieutenant, or a captain, there is nobody that does police work better, and has carried the whole show on their back than Olivia Benson!

Dana Lewis AT LEAST should have been an honorable mention! She spent half of her first episode convincing everyone she was a Neo-Nazi only to pull and kill Kyle Ackerman (Saving Stablers life)
Her friendship with Stabler and Olivia are some of my favorites in the series

Im realizing this list is for cast/recurring members, and as much as I love Leslie Hendrix and Angie Harmons portrayals, Id like to see actors like Marlee Matlin and Tracey Pollan (who was at least seen in a clip) be included as well. Thanks to all the actors listed

Benson, Cabot/Novak and Warner will always be my favorite.
Amanda Rollins is the best newbie detective. I wish she stayed!
They were the real women of SVU. And despite their different beliefs and opinions, they still work better and keep it professional.

Casey Novak is my favorite but I also like the woman that portrayed her, Diane Neal. Warner is also a favorite as well as Rogers. They are all good but those I love the most. And of course Benson is always nice.

Judith Light is an Amazing actress. From her time on One Life to Live to Whos the Boss and in between, she has shown she knows what shes doing in front of a camera. I love her portrayal as Judge Donnelly

Liv, Cabot, and Warner ran the show for many many years. They deserve to be top 3. We also should have had the judge from the episode Gray and Ace, she had passion and was a rape survivor as well

The number one spot was reserved for Olivia lets be honest, Mariska is an incredible actress and would've made a kick ass Wonder Woman should the opportunity had arisen.

Cabot as #2. Couldn't agree more. She's the best ADA. I know Olivia will end up with Elliot but I always shipped her and Alex, call it wishful thinking.

When Olivia says transfer from Dallas when meeting Rollins, is it a nod to the US marshal played by Kelli Giddish on Chase?

Sister Peg should've been on this list! She was a guiding light in so many lives - both homeless and law enforcement!

Kelli Giddish has had only two pregnancies! Ironically, Rollins has two girls, but Kelli has two boys in real life.
