Honorable Mention: Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco, for similar reasons as Chick. When we first met Ernesto, he seemed like a Mariachi musician as charming and handsome as any we had ever seen. Yet he was one of Disney's and Pixar's cruelest villains; he resorted to stealing credit for writing his best friend and partner Hector Rivera's songs to become famous, and even worse, giving him a poisoned wine and literally getting away with murder. But his cruel actions and obsession with being famous stemmed from insecurity. Ernesto started out as just plain unpopular and untalented, unlike Hector who was an accomplished musician and even taught Ernesto how to play and sing music. Yet even as Hector and Ernesto were close to reaching their dream of becoming world famous musicians, Hector got homesick, gave up his dream, and packed his songs as he prepared to head back home, depriving Ernesto of his dream. A total nobody, he just wanted to step out of the shadows and get his time in the spotlight. While none of this excuses his actions, it makes it a bit easier to understand his motivations, however misguided they may have been.

I dont think Evelyn had a good reason for her actions and why she turned evil. The supers not answering the fathers calls which resulted in her parents deaths. Everyone forgets that supers were banned at the time. The government buried them underground, most likely cutting ties with ANYTHING super related. That would include phones, phone numbers, any way to contact them. Even among themselves in the super community. A select few who knew their identities, like Frozone and Mr. Incredible, stayed in contact, but everyone else lost contact too. I agree with Evelyn that her father shouldnt have relied on supers. Should have gone to the safe room and waited for the cops/supers. I believe her grief blinded her logic though. If it wasnt for the super ban, who knows what could have happened that night. The supers may have got there in time to stop tragedy, but they may not have either. If only they were smart enough to move the phones and an extra phone into the safe room so they can safely call for help from supers and cops. But you dont realize your mistakes until it is too late.

I wouldnt exactly call Buddys and Randalls backstories to be the saddest. Even is they should be on this list, I wouldve put them closer to 10. I mean, Buddy is Mr. Incredibles biggest fan, and it seems evident that he has been aware of Buddy being a fan for a while but Its not Mr. Incredibles fault that Buddy cant take rejection. It was rather Buddys fault for what had happened to him.
And for Randall, I get that hes just a guy trying to fit in but the fact that he took pleasure in making a fool out of Mike, his roommate, and the one whom he tried to make aquatinted. I like most placements but I dont completely agree with the listing

Chick Hicks Has No Excuse For Being An Absolute Tool, And A Lot Of The Other Ones I Didnt Excuse Including Syndrome, Stinky Pete, Evelyn Deavor Or Sid For Their Evil. Lotsos Backstory Always Makes Me Tear Up, I Also Started To Feel Bad For Randall. But Out Of Everyone On This List I Never Thought Id Feel Sorry For Charles Muntz, He Was A Famed Explorer With The World At His Feet Then Was Dubbed A Fraud, Then He Set Off And Then Was Driven Insane And Would Do Just Anything To Get Kevin And Get The Fame And Fortune He Thought He Deserved I Never Thought Id Feel Sorry For Him Until Now Great List

Whats ironic about the Toy Story villains is that one Villain, Buzz Lightyears archenemy Zurg, isnt really a villain when hes in toy form. In Toy Story 2 he plays with the other Buzz as his father (spoofing Darth Vader being Luke Skywalkers father in Star Wars) and in Toy Story 3s end credits he can be seen being donated to a daycare which is a good fate for a toy since Lotso is no longer in charge and Zurg was likely destined for the Butterfly Room where he could be played with by kids who knew how to properly play with him, which is much better than the way Buzz was treated!

In Sid's defense, I used to sometimes do similar things with my toys. Granted I wasn't that into the idea of destroying what toys I had, there were definitely a few times where friends and I would do things that would break them on purpose, not to mention a few activities that didn't result in broken toys, but would've no less been agonizing if the toys were alive. For example, when I was very young, I had one action figure I used to enjoy freezing into a block of ice, then taking out back and chiseling free with a screwdriver.

As other people have said, Syndrome should not be on this list. The real reason Mr. Incredible rejected him is because being a superhero is dangerous work, especially for children. If Mr. Incredible did let him join, he would have been letting a child endanger his life, and that would never do. So as much as Mr. Incredible should have been more nicer about it, it's still Syndrome's fault he turned bad. He should have learned to take rejection with dignity and move on.

If Muntz wanted to find the bird, he shouldn't only brought ONE hunting dog. Dug, a Golden Retriever, is the only hunting dog breed. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma are a Dobermann Pinscher, Rottweiler, and English Bulldog respectively. All guard dog breeds. I think there were some pitbulls too. He should've had some hounds and bird dogs for sure, and a balance of hunting and guard dogs based on importance and usefulness in his quest.

Also, Randall was treated well by Mike, he chose to join a fraternity that was full of douchebags and they targeted his friend, and while he got thrown because of Sully, it's not like it was on purpose, and then the douchebags he sided with, were douchebags to him. I mean it's understandable that he would have some resentment, but he saw how they treated others, and he chose to be friends with them.

I remember looking up and typing in if there's a reason why chick hicks is evil, and it says that he has an abusive father for trying to help with a lot of injured cars. I can't believe how chick hicks father has been mean to chick hicks as well. Because then chick hicks would keep on helping with a lot of injured cars. And also won't worry about being in second place right behind the king anymore as well

Syndrome shouldnt even be on this list cuz he wasnt even cut out for this superhero work and EVERYONE knows that when he failed to realize there was a bomb on his cape and could have got police killed if Mr Incredible havent jumped on his cape and pulled the bomb off which also allowed Bomb Voyage to escape. And as Syndrome, he couldnt even stop his own robot from destroying the city

Personally, Chick Hicks doesnt deserve any sympathy because of his horrible personality. The way he hurt the retired car was really uncalled for.
I feel bad for Gabby Gabby because Harmony rejected her but another girl took her in. Yeah, I feel that shes less of a villain but all she couldve done in the first place was to ask.

Syndrome didn't have a sad backstory, unless there was something unsaid in which he had some horrible home life or something, but considering all of the Mr. Incredible posters and toys and such, I kind of doubt that. He was a spoiled brat that couldn't take no for an answer. He needed a serious reality check and a spanking.

Evelyn was honestly one of those villains who low-key made sense. It's was hard to disagree with the points she made throughout the movie. She just executed her beliefs in a terrible way that ultimately made her seem evil instead of revolutionary. She just wanted people to be able to look out for themselves.

Pixar's villains during their shift to the dark side are always scary. The look on their faces after going through trauma shows that anyone can become something cold and cruel inside. But they did. That's why I prefer villains. They are more realistic to understand.

UC8aurLgBHBIWTaoE0b6nndwI may not see this from your point of view. But I say the only reason you believe Lotso can't be redeemed is because Disney decided not to redeem him. I may not agree with your beliefs but we are all entitled to our opinions.

Eventually, Sid Phillips had a change of heart and became a garbage man. That's why I was puzzled when I first saw his cameo in Toy Story 3. At The Time, I didn't recognize him, but It Turns Out That It Really Was Sid Phillips all along.

I hate when people say Syndrome has a sad backstory when every bit of supposed injustice done to him was 100% of his own doing. He's not sympathetic; he's what would happen if someone gave rocket boots to Eliot Rodger.

These characters like Chick, Sid, Randall, Buddy/Syndrome and Lotso should not be in the list at all because either due to brought them their own misery/overshadowed by really bad actions or lacks a backstory (if it's implied.

Here's the thing. Winston and Evelyn faced their sob story together. Winston didn't let his grief get to him, and wanted to bring back superheroes, while Evelyn had her Social Darwinist mindset.
