Reminds me of when my fiancee & I broke up for the first time long ago. She was a cold fish when it came to restarting--and God knows I tried.
It was one of the most galling/frustrating events I EVER went through then, and remains so today. The fact that we're splitsville a 2nd time (strongly appears that way) only reinforces the old feeling & starts a new chapter of frustration. When she just doesn't see it your way. Hmmm. and stomps on your heart.
So in my case, I went La Vida Loca over in the PI. Big mistake actually. And while I did watch this show often, I'll need to refresh my memory about the show's exact end--lousy memory.
I don't know about watching the Wonder Years reboot--People will throw shade on me if I say No, which I'm not saying. It's just that with this particular version w/ Kevin & Winnie, the reboot won't be the same--IT CAN'T BE for obvious reasons. HOW the H can I truly relate to the experiences of a black kid growing up? Yet I know there will be many similarities.
I regret to say that I don't know if the reboot is on the air--I know, pitiful.
Last thought: Does Winnie/Danica resemble Linda Ronstadt?

All formidable chapters. But I liked the happy moments of Kevin and Winnie the most. Episode of the first kiss, episode when Winnie says I love you to Kevin in the moving truck and they hug. Episode when they leave school and Kevin tells Winnie I like you and they become friends. Kissing room episode and ends with Winnie kissing Kevin on the bridge in an intimate place. Winnie's accident episode with the window scene. Episode of the dance they grab each other and leave with the car. Episode of the restaurant door that they eat with kisses. Chinese food episode where Winnie surprises Kevin with a message and gives him a surprise. Final episode in the barn.

The issue is that the reason why their relationship never succeeded is because of her emotional trauma. The loss of her bro in Nam and the divorce of her parents has caused to have a scar in her emotions. Thats the reason why she wasnt to focus on her relationship. Kevin did his best to be good to her but she pushed him away. I know his biggest mistake was going back to the lake to see that girl but in my opinion as an adult, I dont recommend that relationship. Personally, Madeline or the girl from the beach are better options for him.

Went here exactly to if the accident episode is number 1. After a second rewatch, that episode became my favorite because it was the only episode that highlights Winnie is also just human and also makes mistakes. All throughout the series, all of the main characters were portrayed as the average and realistic person and although they have their stereotypes, most of them were able to show a different dimension of their character in various episodes except for Winnie who was always portrayed as the perfect girl until the Accident Episode.

One huge moment is missing. At prom night, many couples dancing. Kevin and Winnie enter the floor, trying to find one another, but can't. They just walk right past each other. And the narrator goes: All our young lives we search for someone to love. Someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We danced to a song of heartbreak and hope. All the while wondering if somewhere, somehow, there's someone perfect, who might be searching for us. Just beautiful and heartbreaking.

One of THE BEST shows on the planet!
Such a lovely cast, filled with lovely music!
For anyone who cant or wont take at least five minutes out of their day, see the heart and soul within these stories and faces dont know anything about all different kinds of love and about being a part of a family.
Ive loved this show all my life, and Ill love this show till the day I die. This show is truly a part of me. :)

There's an air of sadness and tragedy about Winnie. A lot of things happen to her, death, divorce, car accident, moving. She subconsciously pushes him away. He wants to take care of her, but theres a push pull dynamic. I think she has a lot of trauma and can't deal with her feelings. Because maybe if she lets herself love him, he might leave her too.

As sad as it was in the end that they didn't end up together in the last episode the fact that they continued to be there for eachother is touching. Their relationship went beyond being lovers. I can even picture a tragedy like Kevin's wife dieing and the fact that his children are grown and moved away it's Winnie who comforts him.

They will never make these types of shows ever. The Wonder Years is just handful of wholesome family tv night that touches all. I was born in the 70s, raised in the 80s, lived through the 90s and saw all of those shows that will always take me back to a time of worry free innocence. Miss you dad

Really liked the season 5 ending episode at the restaurant. Kevin finally owns up to his feelings and let her know them and Winnie responds, with passionate kiss. Amazing what happens when you communicate feelings openly and honestly, not playing games.

I really wish there had been one more season of The Wonder Years. Their senior year of high school. The series could have ended with their graduating high school and Kevin and Winnie happily dating all through their senior year.

This on-and-off history between the two of them is exactly where Boy Meets World and Friends got their inspiration. Either stay together or call it off and at least try to be friends and stop wasting everyone's time
reply

Although I've always told myself that Kevin and Winnie would eventually be together as they grew older, love always come through in the end. I even envisioned myself that they were be together when they got older

As gruff as his dad was, that moment where Kevin comes into the garage after breaking up with Winnie is my fav moment. Reminds me of just how tough my dad was on the outside, but deep down very loving.

what the hell happened to good tv like this? how did society decide that reality garbage was better? watching this made me feel 10 years old all over again, i can smell my childhood home
reply

I used to feel so bad for Kevin. Winnie hurt this poor kid repeatedly. I had an unrealistic hate for winnies character. My teenage self actually cried at almost every episode.
reply

I'm 26 and never watched this show. I've been binging. Their connection is beautiful, and the chemistry between these actors is UNMATCHED. I wonder if they had feelings off camera
reply

To be honest this TV show wasn't healthy for boys to watch. Winnie use to play and abuse Kevin alot. She always had it her way with him. He should have done her bad at least once.

This and Tour of Duty were my appointment TV back in high school. And if I had to go out and miss an episode, which I rarely did, well, that's what VHS tapes were for. ; )

The heartbreaking moment for me was on the series finale when Kevin revealed he picked up Winnie up from the airport. with his wife and first son. It bursts your child's bubble
reply

My most favorite is. kevin working as a delivery boy. Never got time to meet winnie. So. at late night Kevin last delivery is winnie order. So you know what happens next.

Kevin Arnold was the One of the Greatest womanizers of all Time. Who wants a X parody here? I want. he hit losta bushes on the show including his female teatcher
reply

30 years later I still shed a tear in the finale at the part where Kevin says that Wayne took over the factory when dad passed away. Great, great television.

Paul, Winnie and Kevin would all be turning 66 this year.
Let that sink in.
Fantastic series regardless; the reboot does NOT compare.

My favorite was when they were at that dance and the song was playing you are everything and everything is you! They were all my favorites tho
reply

LOVED this show when I was growing up! The Accident was in the right spot! That ending was powerful! Hated that they didn't end up together!
reply

12: 00 just saw that episode and its what I've been waiting for him to do. It took my breath away what a great delivery and a great shot.
reply

My favorite is not on here. The class trip where Winnie says she met someone and leaves the ring on the bus seat. Kevin was crushed.
