I am trying to learn Japanese and know a little German (mostly just Tokio hotel songs though) and I can count to 10 and say hi, how are you good, you? In german and spanish. I know about 3 french words maybe. but that's it. I cant hold anything close to a conversation besides english.
I'm to lazy and my memory sucks to learn a full language ( I have a learning disability too ) but I try

There is something attractive about multilingual people. Perhaps it's the perception of intelligence or sophistication and of course multiculturalism. I think it is more impressive if a native English speaker is fluent in more than two languages because you don't really HAVE to know another language if English is your native language.

Learned French in school and still can read it, and listen carefully get the jest of a conversation. But trying to console and upset Frenchwoman in the wake of the Paris shootings. All I can say, it was an awkward encounter. But I tried and thats whats important!

One celebrity that surprised me that can speak another language is Synyster Gates, lead guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold. He did an interview in perfect Spanish. I wouldnt be surprised if he could speak German too. Hes of Spanish and German ancestry.

In europe, it is just normal that you can speak more than one language as for example, I'm swiss and we have to learn german, french and english at school. And we also are able to take classes in italian and spanish at most schools

just because they can say hello and other simple greetings doesn't mean they speak the language duh. only 3 of these celebrities in this list truly know how to speak other language besides english.

Viggo should be number one. Natalie exaggerates her language knowledge. She grew up bilingual Hebrew-English and learned good French in school and through her ex. Her Arabic and Japanese are just phrases.
