My personal idea is that there WAS a war between the NoMaj (as they are called in the U. S) and the Wizards at around the same time as the English Civil War. Except that it WASNT between those without magical ability and those with magical ability, rather it was between those who had two magical parents and those who didn't. Look at the trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione; of the three, Ron has two magical parents, Harry technically does, except that his mother did not, and neither of Hermione's parents are magical, and so under the Hogwarts of just before the war, Ron would have attended Hogwarts, Harry would have not been born (his parents met at Hogwarts, and Hermione would have been left out in the cold. The result of this keeping people out of Hogwarts like Hermione meant both good things, and bad things. The good thing is that Hogwarts graduates had a far stronger and far better magical education and abilities, but the bad thing is that they depended upon magic so much that obvious, simple and easy solutions to problems escaped them. I tell the story of a small English Force operating on French soil against the Hogwarts graduates that mistakenly place under siege a magically built Crannong (at least that's what I think they are called, it's a wooden platform placed over water with wooden walls and wooden houses where people can live, and a couple of young adventurous souls with the force throw some clay pots filled with a flammable substance against the front gates. Despite the fact that the Wizard Crannog was built over a lake, the wizards never think of taking water from the lake to use for firefighting, and so most of the people in the crannog are killed.

several problems with some of these theories:
- the ministry of magic didn't choose who would go to Hogwarts, the magical book&quill wrote the name of those chosen. therefor- it doesn't matter if the ministry of magic had a record, the muggle government should have been a well enough backup
-- continuing on this line: Nevil was only registered to Hogwarts at the age of 8 y/o, when his magical abilities were significant enough for both the quill (which tried to right down Nevil's name when he was a few months old, when his magic first apeared) and the book (which did not let the quill wright down the name of insignificant whiches&wizards. so no- i don't think this one can pass.
-- the imortal Harry- why would Harry only be killed by Voldemorte? what mechanism works here? why would you want this to be true? Harry never wanted imortallity, so why would he (or you) like it if he gets it by accident?
---George Wonka- F&G's shop was more about the tricks, the candy was just the instument. so why would George open a candy factory and not a toy factory like Toys R Us or a slightlly-less-child-friendly version of Disney store? fertheremore: he isn't very familiar with the muggle world, and we don't have as many prancky options as the magical world- so why would he bother?
just asking why would you like these theoreis to be true

Jacob Kowalski is A Descendant Of Helga Hufflepuff: Helga was the best at foodcharms and she was the one who collected the Houseelfs to work in the Hogwarts kitchen, Jacob was a pastory chef and his uncle was a houseelf. Jacob is an imigrant from Poland (Europe, so even though he lives in America now his family actually lives close to Hogwarts where Helga lived. Jacob has all the qualities Helga wanted in her students (loyal, hardworking etc. Helgas only known descendant is Hepzibah Smith, she told Tom Riddle that her family was dying to get their hands on the hufflepuff cup which means there are others descendant's of Helga Hufflepuff. Smith and Kowalski are both jawish names, and Kowalski means son of Smith.
Dumbledore didn't give Snape the defence against dark arts because it was cursed: all of the teachers who taught the dark arts would suffer some cruel fade Quirrell died, Lockhard lost his memories, Lupin had already a cruel fade being a werewolf, Cruch jr. dementor kiss, Umbridge taken by centaurs and later sent to Azkaban all because Voldemort cursed it because he didn't get the job. But in Harry's sixth year Snape had already made the unbreakable vow to kill Dumbledore, so he would already suffer a terrible fate, and that's why he got it this time. and thats why Snape gave the job to Amycus Carrow later on.

The one about Neville isn't a fan theory, it's fact. His father's wand's profile was likely Ash wood, which is loyal to one wizard and not often passed to another because it would retain its original loyalty. When Neville uses the wand, he uses it in his right hand, but he (in the films at least) is left handed. This would make it harder for him to control the wand than it already was. Once he gets his new wand his abilities are noticeably changed. He's not only good at Herbology, but DADA and Charms too.
It's also worth mentioning that intent and confidence are huge factors in magic, and the fact that no one really believed in him until he was 15 would have had a huge impact on his ability. As soon as he started believing in himself, his power grew enormously, and with it people's trust in him. Hence him becoming essentially the greatest war hero in the series. Harry did a solo mission, Neville led an army.

is Ron, Dumbledore. no. for many reasons, we know of Dumbelore's brother and sister. the Reason he gave Ron the Deluminator was Dumbledore did ask Harry about how he been spending a great amount of time with Mis Granger and the fact that he is in the room when Ron whispers Hermione name while she was there causing Lavander to leave Ron's bedside. and Ginny said about time. and he knows that Harry and Ron are best friends. and that he asked Molly and Author to look after Harry without Harry knowing about it. for Molly knew it was Harry the first time on platform 9 3/4. and was not surprised that a lone child on the platform asking her how to.

1. Hagrid's animals did not come from Newt What's His Name. I refuse to accept anything from Magical Beasts. I hate those films. They are not worthy to be in the Harry Potter canon.
2. There is nothing to show that Lily's cat is Hermione's cat. That is wishful thinking.
3. George is Willa Wonka. Ridiculous.
4. The Horcrux and the Dudleys. Also ridiculous. The Dursley's are just mean people.
5. The boy who lived means that Harry survived the night that Voldemort killed his parents. It doesn't mean that Harry is immortal. That's reaching.
All of these theories are hogwash.

I'd like to think the piece of Voldermort in Harry is more an amplifier than a direct cause. Like Petunia would have had forms of resentment towards Harry on many levels. Dudley probably as well. I think Ron would have on some level as well. I think out and out the last horcrux just magnified it. Like Harry and Dudley leave on some form of ammends. There's the deleted (I believe) scene where Petunia says she was my sister. Snape despite the oath and guilt would have resented that Harry lived and is the spitting image of his greatest tormentor and love.

My theory is a bit dark but so is a lot of the Wizarding World. JK Rowling hinted a person unexpected would show magical ability. My thought was Dudley showed sings of having magic. The Dursleys 'magic trained' him. Like potty training only teaching magic was bad, a naughty dirty ability. It explains how he became such a bully, most bullies are victims of it previously. His parents held up Harry as an example of bad magic. It also explains why the Dursleys hated Harry so much they saw him corrupting thier little angel.

I don't know if Crookshanks could be Lily's cat. By the time of her death and his first appearance, he'd be pretty old. We don't know how long Lily had her cat, but it would only prove that Crookshanks would be pretty old. And I doubt magic will have to do with it. In book three, Ron took Scabbers to a pet shop and the keeper said that rats only live for three years when he said he had him for 12 years. Something similar could be said about cats.

My theory is that the dursleys hate harry because patuniais still grieving over her sister and she blames james for her death because he was a bit of an asshole, and shes sees james in harry; vernon also probably hated james and probaby had a heated argument with him and because of thathe also hates harry for who he looks like and its also why patunia never looks into harrys eyes till when theyre leaving because theyre her sisters eyes

I believe majority of these.
I dont believe the Draco being a Werewolf Theory. Harry being a Horcrux definitely didnt cause that effect on The Dursleys and Ron 100% isnt a Time Travelling Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Albus is gay while Ron is straight. Ron is also nothing like Albus personality wise. Ron being Albus is literally the dumbest theory to come from Harry Potter because it makes zero sense.

Wouldn't be interesting to believe that Gellert Grindlewald is a metamorphmegis? I mean if you think about it, Metamorphmagis is the magical ability that changes your appearance at will based on genetics. So, when Gellert Grindlewald's character was recast for the Fantastic Beast films so far, so did his overall physical appearance, thanks to Mads Mikkelsen's portrayal after Johnny Depp was replaced.

Harry; Not immortal, but his green eyes reflect a Killing Curse back to its caster unless he gets something else happening first, or he keeps his eyes closed. Also, Lily's take me instead - along with the trade-off; this is why a piece of Voldemort ended up inside Harry- - a payment for breaking the contract. Lily did not have to die as her eyes would reflect the green curse as well. She chose to.

urr the foreshadowing in philosopher's stone is a bit far fetched. I point this out because the points made relating to the obstacles guarding the stone and how they 'relate' to the other films. There are so many encounters relative to the obstacles through the rest of all of the films it's makes it just to vague and feel like your clutching at any straws you can get your hands on

The idea that the Dursleys hated Harry because he was a horcrux is ridiculous. Petunia hated Lilly when they were kids, she was jealous Lilly got to go to Hogwarts & she didnt, she even wrote to Professor Dumbledore & asked if she could come to. Ron was only affected by the locket because he was wearing it, Harry was affected also until Hermoine made him take it off.

The weirdest one for me is Ron being Dumbledore. Would have been nice and all bur Ron marries Hermione. And we all know that Albus P. W. B. Dumbledore had strong feelings for Grindewald. Furthermore based on what Hermione says in Prisoners of Azkaban, you can get mad seeing your other-self from other time. I would rather ser Ron as Griffindor time travelling.

Well for the number 1 theory I was born in October 30th 1998 and Im British and still currently live in the UK and still havent received my Hogwarts Letter, pretty much proved that yah even if youre born after 1997/1998 your pretty much had no chance
(If it was legit Im a son of a pagan Father which would mean technically I was born to use Magic )

The ministry doesn't send out the Hogwarts letters to new students, Hogwarts sends those directly.
Harry won't live forever now. Voldy used his blood to regenerate, keeping Harry anchored to life and able to return after getting AK'd in the forest. Dumbledore realized this might happen late in GoF when Harry told him about the graveyard events.

YEEEEESSS I read that Neville had been using his fathers wand given to him by his grandmother. Further the wand never actually chose him right up until actually grew into his fathers gusto. So really the entire reason why her sucked so bad at charms was because his grandmother wouldnt bother to put the Gallions forward towards his own wand.

I believe the sorting hat does know the future. To expand on that, I think it chose to sort Harry, Ron, and Hermione together. None of them really belonged in Gryffindor. Harry valued ambition which is a Slytherin trait. Ron valued loyalty which is a Hufflepuff trait, and Hermione valued knowledge which is a Ravenclaw trait.

Some have a fan theory that witches and wizards may well be out there in the world and the adventures of Hardy Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger are an autobiography detailing their crusade. It certainly is a fun addition to the Voldemort ordering the destroying of the muggleborn records during his takeover.

The number 1 theory makes zero sense. The ministry of magic had nothing to do with who is chosen to attend hogwarts. There is a magic book in the castle that chooses students as soon as they exhibit a strong enough presence of magical abilities as children and this would not have been affected by voldemort.

About that last theory; Obscurials happen when witches and wizards are denied the freedom of letting their magic out, or something of the sort, so if that last theory is correct, wouldn't it make a whole lot of Obscurials? Well, I suppose Obscurials mostly die at a young age due to that, but still.

Crookshanks being Lily's is both sweet but tragic to think about, since we learn where Hermione got him and realising he'd been there ever since Lily and James were murdered by Voldamort.
Especially when Crookshanks probably originally tried to go back to Harry, but was chased off by the Dursleys

Not all Horcruxes make their bearers evil. The Cup of Hufflepuff had several opportunities to make Harry, Ron, or Hermione evil. But if this happened, both Rowling and the movies were mum about it. Plus, Ginny seemed to maintain her non-trance integrity back when she bore Tom Riddle's Diary.

4- No, the Dursleys are just dicks.

My favorite theory (using the term loosely) is that Dudley had children who are accepted to Hogwarts. This forces him to turn to Harry to understand the world he hated so much growing up. This would drastically change both perception and their relationship

What if when Voldemort killed Harry and a part of himself and Harry did bounce back to life it formed an accidental horcrux but the other way around. The cloak could be the horcrux or even the elder wand being both were present when it happened

I think you mixed up Neville and Ron for this theory. Ron always used everything as hand me downs from his brothers. His wand was unyielding meaning it stayed pretty loyal to it's first owner. Once Ron gets his own wand his magic improves so much!

My two personal Harry Potter theories are (1) that Lavender Brown is a descendant of Sebastian Brown, who got a letter from Hogwarts 3 years after his nanny, surnamed Mcphee quit. (2) that of course Mary Poppins went to Hogwarts [house Ravenclaw]
