I enjoyed Glee more often than not, but I always felt Mr. Schue was constantly an uncomfortable character. And I agree about how horribly they treated Marley's eating disorder. After everything, they still moved on from it as if the results of sectionals was all Marley's fault and not the fact that she was lied to and manipulated by Kitty. No one apologized for how they treated her and the fact that Kitty received no comeuppance for it always rubbed me the wrong way.

Some of these scenes could fly today they just didnt have time to flesh out the character because they arent really important to the overall story. Glees Shooting Star episode tackled a serious topic but Im pretty sure it still works I personally didnt see anything wrong with it (except for whatever Mr. Shue did in that episode. Same with the Beverly Hills 90210. I dont see anything wrong with it. Full House did pretty much the same thing.

Student and teacher relationship does need to stop it not okay. Number 10 for is both way problem, she shouldn't have lied about her age but he should have ended it immediately after learning her true age. To me girls who do that are wrong cause guys general don't know about their true age.
Versus guy who do know the true age of girl and don't call it off is sickle creey and hard to watch.

I laugh so hard anytime someone talks about TV Chuck Bass being soooooo bad he's 3019358 times worse in the book.
And I know Mr. Shue (and for some reason by extension Matt Morrison) is something of a poisoned well, but he has a place in my heart because he believed what my high school music teacher didn't: glee club is for people who love music and not just her favorites.

Im sorry but the Buffy scene shouldnt even be on the list. This is something that could really happen and they handled the issue so much better than some of the other not inappropriate topics that have been covered on these shows. Several of these shows used serious issues just to add drama and very rarely did the handle the issue or outcome the issue as they should have.

A classmate of mine dated one of the high school teachers some time after graduating (a year, maybe two after we graduated) I never had him, and I'm unsure if she had him either, as he came to our school late in our high school career. I think that's ok. Anyway. she was so lucky. He was in his late 20s and super hot. I definitely crushed on him at one point.

To be frank. I am happy Spike redeemed himself in the end. He had to go to Hell and back just to get his soul. And he played a major part in battling the true evil of the world along with Angel. I call it a price he had to pay to make up for all his crimes. Its in god's hands what happens to spike and angel souls.

Thanks for ruining my childhood and how is Mr. Shuster NOT #1? Like others are saying, he could have his own top 10 list of times he was inappropriate. Watching Glee back as an adult would truly horrify me and if I were one of the parents I'd be running to the school demanding his immediate dismissal.

With all the liberal groups ruining shows/movies nowadays, I see this as very true! Surprised the last two decades got away with as much as they did but things get worse all the time when liberals complain about, well anything and/everything by making something a issue.

I absolutely despised how they covered Marley's eating disorder! I mean, especially in the Gaga vs. Katy Perry episode. Instead of understanding her insecurity of not wearing a bra because of her eating disorder, they kicked her off the damn team! totally not cool

Regarding Shooting Star- They should have gone into more detail about why Becky was so scared about life after Graduation. I would honestly would have liked to see a spin off series that focused on Becky because we did not know too much about her character.

At the end of the day its just entertainment. Controversial for sure, but it also gets the discussions going on why these subjects are controversial and need to be discussed to begin with. Remember, controversy creates cash.

I feel like shows often introduce characters that are meant to be awful, then realize the actor is talented/attractive/charismatic/whatever and redeem them. It is a bad message to send to young impressionable people.

Oddly, these all just remind me of things that happen in Euphoria/Modern Degrassi/13 reasons why. etc. some don't even compare to the things I saw in Euphoria lol. All these moments are great honestly!

Have you guys even had real Life Experiences I mean the goals of the shows are to be as real as possible at least these are actors and not real people doing these already things get over yourselves

Watchmojo: mentions online services removed a scene of Belding commending Zach on the Calendar
Also Watchmojo: shows the scene in question and Belding clearly reprimands Zatch for the calendar

In the 90s we could watch TV shows and understand its not real life. It's just a show. Saved by the Bell, BH 90210 Melrose place all of em. We just weren't sensitive like this I guess.

It's funny how you keep saying, This wouldn't fly today, when yeah, it would. Just for the shock factor. And the whole student-teacher relationship is illegal and wrong.
reply

Can teachers just date other teachers in teen shows and can students just date students? It's not that hard to write it. Do these people not realize that is pedophilia?
reply

To be fair that school shooting episode of Glee is actually fantastic. It makes me bawl every single time as the one kid records a message to his mom.
reply

I hate Chuck and Blair as a ship with every fiber of my being.
I also wish that Glee was deleted off of this planet with no memory of it ever having existed.

I would prefer a headline like Teen show issues that would be done properly today. The way the existing headline reads promotes those phony cancel culture vibes.

Archie's relationship with his teacher on Riverdale was troubling. Not to mention that she was still creeping on teenage boys after the fact.
reply

If we're talking about inappropriate student-teacher relationship we definitely should include Dawson's Creek because this show is full of it
reply

How can you say Student/Teacher relationship moments wouldn't work today when they literally JUST did that story line in the new Gossip Girl!
reply

I don't sensor my children life is what it is. Learn to deal it's not cupcakes. But what you've been through does not define you. Rise up
reply

this is what ppl get when adults are given the opportunity to play out their pathetic fantasies. lame teen shows with dumb executions.
reply

One Tree Hill, girl is mad that this grown man lied to her and cheated on her when she lied about her age from the very beginning.

Anything is acceptable now unless it is stopped and talked about beforehand in home. Parents need to start taking responsibility
