We could go on forever here couldn't we, Def Leppard is a pretty great hair band & if you don't have any, grab a good wig. There are a few that many may not know, one is an 80's Australian band called ' Choirboys ' with their hit, ' Run to Paradise ' & a band from the late 70's called ' Heart ', with their hit ' Hot Summer Nights ', great to yell to, lol. One last mention, there is this epic video circulating of the entire crowd at Hyde park or some where who started singing ' Bohemian Rhapsody, during a break in I think a Green Day concert, look it up.

Man, if only I had that vocal rasp, I would absolutely do I love rock n'roll at karaoke.
Unfortunately for me, most of these songs either wouldn't go over well at my local karaoke spot, or are well out of my vocal range/comfort zone.
I have done piano man before at karaoke though, and I do a pretty good carry on my wayward son.
After knowing the glee version, I'd probably do paradise by the dashboard light if I had a good enough partner to do it with.

Funny how there wasn't a single filipino song in a top 20 list of songs for karaoke, considering that karaoke was invented in the Philippines. How about these songs? Akin ka na lang by Morissette amon, pa minsan-minsan by Richard reynoso, each day with you by Martin nievera, beautiful girl by Jose mari chan or we could be in love by lea salonga and Brad Kane (yes, that's Princess Jasmine and aladdin from the original in film performance of Disney aladdin.

I do not agree on the list fully. Here are the songs that meant to be in the list.
17. I want it that way.
13. Pour some sugar on me
12. Wonderwall
11. Sweet Caroline
10. I love rock n roll
8. Livin on a prayer
7. Y. M. C. A.
4. I will survive
3. My way
1. Don't stop believin'
- Jolene
- Sweet home Alabama
Note: Billy Joel has much better karaoke songs, eg. Just the way you are and My life.

These songs all require a lot of chops to sing, so maybe you need to get to a list of relatively simple songs that will go down well, for the untalented. Such as Queen Crazy little thing called love, Elton John Daniel my brother, Monkees I'm a believer, etc. Songs that the ordinary joe can practice beforehand when he KNOWS he's gonna get dragged on stage to be humiliated by an evil nemeses.

When deciding on a karaoke song, my #1 criterion is musical interludes must be minimal to nonexistent. Swaying up there by yourself til it's time to sing again -- yeesh, no. #2 is I have to be able to hit the notes. My very favorites to sing are: The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson and Son of a Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield.

im a beginner, i can only sing one song, Humperdinck -love me with all of your heart, id like to learn a guy version of Taylor Daynes love will lead you back LOL, but if im around my friends I would want to sing Abba -chiquitita. but there's no way i could do that without laughing too hard

Some great picks. Totally agree with #1. Think I'd replace Bohemian Rhapsody with Total Eclipse of the Heart tho. Also a difficult song, but not quite as hard and great as a solo or duet. Tho BR (or any Queen song) is unbeatable for getting the audience involved.

3: 18 if you want another fun country song but country's not really your thing but you want to get the crowd excited and you like badass chicks, Miranda Lambert's Gunpowder and Lead is my go-to. I only know two country songs but those two are it!
reply

My Way is my go to and I belt it at the end. I learned to pace myself and I normally get a very good response. It is a lot of fun to get the feedback after putting so much into it. Thanks for calling it out for #3 and being difficult.

Fun fact about my way and karaoke, it was made illegal to sing my way on karaoke in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, because people were killed for bad renditions of that song. Yes, Filipinos take music THAT seriously.

Undisputed #1 - Friends in Low Places, Garth Brooks
How can you even make a karaoke list without that! FAIL! You missed these, too:
Ice, Ice Baby, Vanilla Ice
Pork and Beans, Weezer
This is how we do it, Montell Jordan

Good call on number 1. My top choices are Walking in Memphis, Werewolves of London, and La Bamba. For musicals I love Rich Man, Sweet Transvestite, and Beauty and the Beast.
reply

while some are good many of these get sung so much they loss their luster. Bohemian Rhapsody. Plz it's like a 6-7 min song. people are waiting. Pick it on a slow night.
reply

FYI, My Way once has a reputation for being the most dangerous song to be sung in karaoke bars in the Philippines due to the number of deaths associated with it.
reply

In the Philippines, it would be:
My Way
Torn
Wherever You Will Go
Perfect (Simple Plan)
2 Become 1
She's Gone
Two Less Lonely People

reply

I sang My Way on a cruise ship when I was a teenager. Afterwards a ww2 veteran said I was the best singer of the night and he made my day for sure
reply

Livin on a prayer is a lot of fun at a karaoke night. The momentum of the song simply carries it for you, especially if you have a good local crowd
reply

I was hoping to see American Pie by Don McLean on this list, but I really like all of the songs that did make it so I cant be too upset.
reply

Before He Cheats, Sweet Caroline, I love Rockn'Roll, my way, .all way overdone. My kingdom to hear new Karaoke songs.
reply

These are all great and fun songs, but really hard to sing reasonably well. This is an awful list for go tos.
reply

15: 41 i hate that this song is synonymous with frank sinatra. paul anka wrote it and deserves the credit.
reply

Every single time I hear Don't stop Believing I always yell out that it's the greatest karaoke song ever lol
reply

Livin' La Vida Loca and Country Roads also are great song choices to incorporate in your Karaoke repertoire
