I give you an advice for free. Do not fckin thnk what is wrong just watch and enjoy it. All of the shows movies books has flaws and inappropriate things. If you highlight I mean if you focus on them you can not enjoy it. Same with some foods, they are disgusting if you wanna go into details like stinky cheese. So if you want to enjoy it don't think. Also like it has been in Mr Robot monologue: we want to be sedated. If you don't want then just watch the news only. Sometimes if good to be sedated and forget all the s. hit. but you can't enjoy anything when you focusing for the mistakes.
Yes yes you can make videos to highlight mistakes and all but it does not mean the product is not good.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE COMEDY! I have watched so many films and series in the comedy genre in various language, so it seems strange to me that Emily in Paris is supposed to be a comedy. I have Ive heard that it is both a drama and a comedy series, but I can in no way see any comedy in the serie. I see no problem in making a series that presents stereotypes, as long as it is done in a comical way like Family Guy etc. But I can not find the comic genre in Emily in Paris at all. They are presenting these stereotypes so genuine, that it's like you get the impression that this is what Americans think Paris and Europe is like.

As an Indian who worked from India for the Americans as a technical support agent during her struggling years, i want to say this show has given me such satisfaction in watching the French kinda bullying Emily and mocking the ideology that Americans think they are the center of the world and that the customer is always right. The one where Sylvie bashes Madelline and asks her to leave the marketing to the French because they are afraid of their culture being twisted was the best part. A lot of sadistic pleasure in the entire series. seemed like netflix decided to take revenge on my behalf.

I dont understand the point of antagonizing someone who doesnt like food the way the chef prepares it. It might be common to eat steak thats undercooked and bloody but thats not for everyone. Also if youre paying for something you should be able to get what you like. I understand how its wrong to complain about something you can tolerate, but I would totally be grossed out by a bloody steak. Might as well just eat it raw. Just because someone doesnt like something popular or what the chef learned how to cook, doesnt mean they shouldnt get to go out and enjoy dinner at a restaurant.

Well, it's a Netflix show that is intended to be light and somewhat entertaining, so I guess one cannot expect a show worthy of an Emmy or whatever recognition (even though I understand it got already nominated once. I haven't seen it, but I wasn't aware that, in spite of its success so far, it has been receiving heavy criticism as well.
I guess Lily is partially to blame because she took on the role and, from what I understand, has served as producer of the show as well.
Happens sometimes, I guess.

Im french and this a very bad propaganda, this series is shameful for the relationship of our two countries (I think it is felt on both sides) moreover we in France do not know why the Americans feel hated in France when their cultural zone of influence is very present here ( see a little too much perhaps that the tensions come from there but the series narranges and is neither representative of the Americans nor representative of the French

Yes this show needs a lot of improvement and it is pretty insensitive to the French culture. Im disappointed that the writers of the show didnt even bother studying French culture. This show is still fun to watch I predict in a long term the show will improve a lot of shows Start of shaky but improve in later seasons so I think this show will do better over time.

I dont thing La Vien Rose moment was cringy. Its an iconic song, it was simply a tribute to the evergreen song. I think it more like a tradition than stereotype to use La vien rose in a French based show.
Whenever Im watching a show/ movie based in France Im kinda waiting for La vien rose melody to pop up. Its a lovely feeling.

I watched the first series because I was bored. I had very low standards about comedy drama especially when I'm bored. But even I can't take it anymore after S2E3 cuz Emily is a totally terrible friend to Camille. And also, so many stereotypes in the show that I just feel bad continued watching.

If the idea was to show a powerful girl from USA and many annoying people from Paris, I got the opposite! . I like much more the French characters like Silvie, than the pathetic, arrogant, selfish, empty and unbearable Emily! . It's sooo annoying!

Also using Mandi a none white character to throw all the racist comments written by white ppl really made me hate her but it was not her fault, she actually nailed that character. l quit watching the show after 6 or 7 episodes of S01

Being friends with multiple French people, we have all laughed and cringed and fallen in love with this show.
Everyone has a guilty pleasure show (mine being this and Glee.
Don't take a silly comedy so serious.

I binged Emily in Paris this past weekend. I love that it was cute, lighthearted and funny. I needed mindless TV to escape and it was just perfect! Maybe parts of it are cringy but that's why I enjoyed it lol.

Wooow, the scene in the restaurant is racist. There's a big diffrence between thinking that it's kinda funny when someone not from your language says your name weirdly and mocking and insulting them for that.

Watch 10 min of the first episode and switched off: rude, arrogant, inaccurate and with piir taste. It doesn't help that lilil Collins acting is basically non existent

Hi.
What a garbage of a show. Except if you want a show about a fairytale that has nothing in relation with reality. Then maybe watching cartoons is also an option for you: )

13: 15 I don't understand why the #1 is so gross. The brother is 17. The legal age in France is 15, not like 18 in the US. Most of Europe has 14-16 age of consent.

I did watch the whole two seasons. It was boring. But Camille and Silvie has the best outfits and that is the only reason why I kept on watching.

It starts with the lack of diversity in the writers room. You want to write a show able the Parisian lifestyle hire someone from Paris.
