It's a travesty that Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison is not on this list. It is iconic. Big fail. That said, you should do an Underrated Break Up Songs list with less known/well remembered songs. Here are a some suggestions Never Again by Kelly Clarkson, Take a Bow by Leona Lewis, Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks, Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, Fighter by Christina Aguilera, Shadow or Everytime by Britney Spears, In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins, Kerosene by Miranda Lambert, Sometimes Love Just aint Enough by Patty Smith, Stranger or So Yesterday by Hilary Duff, I don't Want You Back by Eamon, I saw the Sign by Ace of Base, Lips of an Angel by Hinder, Ghost by Ella Anderson, Villain by Lily Rose, Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, ABCDEFU by Gayle, Stitches by Shawn Mendes, How Many Things or Sue Me by Sabrina Carpenter and Lose You to Love Me by Selena Gomez. That's just a sample of break up songs that could be used. I will say, you seem to have an aversion to putting country songs on your lists. You included different genres, but not a single country song and there are many of them about break ups. I listed a few, but there are many more. Most of this list was filled with pop songs. I like pop, but if you're doing a list of the greatest songs of all times and not a specific genre then you should have a more diverse list.

I will always love you and Unbreak my heart (along with Yesterday) are surely among my tops. But a couple of other songs that have help me along the way are Someday (by Mariah Carey) and one of my favs: Against all odds (by Phil Collins. Honorable mentions to Missing you (by John Waite, Hard to say I'm sorry (by Chicago) and of course Love hurst (by Roy Orbison, but made popular by Nazareth) which was in the opening video. and so many others (like Without you (I think original was by Harry Nilsson, first heard it for me by Heart and popularized by Mariah Carey!

Someone You Loved' - Lewis Capaldi. Never fails to put a lump in my throat. It could apply to any type of loss, but it really captures the essence of the painful realization that the one who once gave you the most comfort, and who you thought would be there forever is gone.
Other top picks:
What Hurts the Most Rascal Flatts
Just a Dream Nelly
Hello Adele

You know what I DON'T miss about the 70s? Notice the singer right at the start of the video with the open shirt? THAT. I don't miss that. At all. The music was fine; I still listen to all of it even though I am old AF now. But those skinny guys with their shirts unbuttoned on stage was not a highlight of the era for me.

Why are you guys so against country music? The #1 song was originally Dolly Parton. Plus there are others from Sarah Evans and Carly Pierce that are noteworthy. Therr was not a single country song mentioned in the list. Please stop being so prejudice.

I kept waiting and waiting for I Will Always Love You, I Will Survive and You Oughta Know to show up. well my patience was rewarded. I would have ranked the top three a little differently, but I'm fine with what you did there LOL

Some of these aren't break up songs. They are about people dying. So you choose those and left off other songs that were actually about break ups? Before He Cheats? These Boots Were Made For Walking?
Just wondering.
