These celebs wouldn't stand for homophobic interview questions. For this list, well be looking at LGBTQ+ celebs and their allies who shut down or clapped back at inappropriate, invasive, or offensive inquiries. Our countdown includes Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and more! Can YOU recall any other interviewers who needed calling out?

Great video. As much as I appreciate every single one of them for being allies, I reserve my greatest respect and admiration for the allies who were vocal and stood by us during the AIDS epidemic when doing so had the potential to seriously impact their careers negatively. It's great to see so many allies today and there is still homophobia that needs to be challenged at every corner, but its a much more accepting world now than it was in the late 80s and 1990s that's for sure.

7: 22, Number 14 is searching for a problem where isn't one, this was 1979 after all and Ms Mojo classing it as homophobic in any is just plain ridiculous, even through the lens of the 2020s is not offensive! Asking a 17 year old young woman whether she had a boyfriend is a harmless question (as in, y'know getting to know her besides acting) and using terms like 'hetero-normative assumption', that's just desperate!
reply

Most of these questions seem at worst borderline rude. People are taught to be victims and offended by everything. If you don't like the question, don't answer it. I swear, these days the bar for what is considered offensive or homophobic is lower than the 10th round of a limbo contest! If the question was not asked with mean intent (which accounts for about 90% of the time, politely brush it off and move on.
reply

These questions may be ignorant or slightly intrusive, but maybe you guys should actually learn the definition of homophobia. Also, unlike private citizens, public figures and celebrities legally relinquish a certain degree of privacy. While I personally couldn't care less about their personal lives, celebrity gossip is a highly lucrative industry because most fans care.

I am so sorry that still in this modern day and age we have to discriminate against people who are different from the majority. I sure hope it does not last another 100 years. Be brave and be who you are. I personally support anyone to be whatever they choose to be and to marry whoever they want to marry. Everyone else should focus on their life and family.

99% of these interviews happened when there was no LBGTQAI+++ You were just straight, gay, or a transvestite. This whole idiotic extra letters are just an excuse to make snowflakes feel important. And there was more acceptance than there is now. Totally because the trans community have made the 95% of the world that are normal hate what they stand for.
reply

I support LGBTQ rights, though calling myself an ally sounds woke, and I hate that as much as homophobes. Great clips but labeling people as homophobes without showing the evidence, as I saw with pierce Morgan, takes away credibility from this video and seems more like woke propaganda.
reply

I'm glad to see they showed interviews from before the 2000, there's a lot of people who think it just became a thing after then. Those people probably didn't watch enough of the video if they even clicked it but its nice to know at least there's some evidance to show them.

Chris Evans will always be my favorite Marvel Hero for this.
Also I will never get over Heath Ledger's passing, all I can do is tell myself the world just didn't deserve him. But he was definitely the kind of strong person we all would have needed.

reply

What about Betty White? She was asked how she felt about the LGBTQ community once and was very clear that she considered it a very personal thing and she doesn't care. Her tone definitely said it was a final answer, too. Betty White was so badass.

Ah, so this is where victim mentality is learned. I was wondering where you were. Saying men don't use the unicorn emoji makes you seethe? Impressive. If you get offended by everything, people have nothing to say to each other anymore.

I remember watching the Ricky Martin interview on a Barbara Walters Special.
It was PAINFUL. You could see Mr. Martin squirming and cringing at some of her questions. I felt so bad for him for even agreeing to do that interview.

reply

I would love to see a response that turned things around, saying to the interviewer: How about we talk about you, your body, and your love life? But these are great, and I appreciate them all.
reply

hmm that might be okay for real trans but it paves the way for trans pedos and transcreep so i think if your trans use the disability toilet and save our young ladies from potential harm
reply

Fun facts: Judy Garland is the reason why Friend of Dorothy is a slang term for gay people, because she was a friend of the lgbt community, and she was Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz

A person so interested in what another person does in their bedroom with another consenting adult is a perv and should be label as a PERVERT PERIOD and EXCLAMATION POINT
reply

Lady Gaga is also bi and has had to fight to get that recognized! People always assume or label her an alley but shes actually part of the community!
reply

Caitlyn Jenner proves that trans people are just people, not a political label. They can still be evil conservative pieces of shit while also being trans.
reply

Dear lady telling us all this, you vocal fry is very annoying. If youre as tired and weary as you try to sound, you should have a nap and stop yapping.
reply

Don't leave out my man Gyllenhaal. I personally didn't find the movie good but both their performances was absolutely amazing and a good messege.
reply

I wish they would have done Lady Gaga's whole interview where he asks her about of she has a penis and she said maybe I do, would it be so terrible
reply

You should do a video about the LGBT representation on The Renanasaince Tour. After that experience, Beyonce became the Queen of Allies.
reply

This videos goal is to vilify people for simply asking questions that aren't actually in anyway homophobic. Stop being so damn sensitive.

1: 37 RE: unicorn emoji, I am gay and Im completely disinterested in using the unicorn emoji. I guess she views me as not a real man.
reply

Heath ledger also refused to accept an award for that movie because they wanted him to make a homophobic joke in his speech
reply

wait. piece morgan said something crass and completely out of touch with ideas not from the 18th century? say it isnt so

Even their women exchanged that which was unseemly with one another and God GAVE THEM OVER TO THEIR SIN.

The brain of a trans woman, is still a mans brain, no amount of plastic surgery can change that fact.
