Lord Voldemort isn't a makeup triumph. the nose was CGI'd. the rest wasn't that impressive compared to some choices you could've made. IF you weren't familiar with the following, check them out.
-Dick Van Dyke as the Senior Mr Dawes in Mary Poppins. His makeup was so convincing you never knew it was him in the makeup that turned him into a 90 year old man until it was revealed in the end credits.
-Peter Weller as Alex Murphy/Robocop in Robocop. The scene where the cyborg removes his upper helmet is amazing revealing the back half of his head is all machine. and done completely practical makeup effect and completely believable.
-Robert Englund as Freddy Kreuger in A Nightmare on Elm Street. A dream demon with a horribly burned face so bad parts of his skull are visible in it. and a nightmare makeup application process too. Kudos to Robert for doing it so many times.
-David Naughton as David Kessler in An American Werewolf in London. The transformation scene required several makeup stages to show the helpless man becoming a werewolf. They were all practical makeup effects and shockingly realistic. Rick Baker got his well deserved first Oscar for this film.
-Borris Karloff as the Creature in Frankenstein. Gotta go with a classic too. His makeup was groundbreaking and grueling to apply for 1931 and it set the standard and has stood the test of time.

My opinion on list
10. Agree even for a film that's almost 30 years old(in 2023)it still holds up.
9. Yeah you wouldn't take her to be in there.
8. I had no idea it was him, he looked like Stanley Tucci under the makeup.
7. Really unrecognisable. Haven't even seen this nor its sequel. I seen the Tim Curry one(bits of it.
6. She was so unrecognisable compare to Jennifer Lawrence
5. No idea it was him as the devil.
4. Have yet to watch this movie. Never got to see the remake either (2000 or 2011. remake)
3. Everytime I see him in Maid Manhattan I start laughing hysterically as I picture him as Voldermort everytime.
2. Yeah it was a really good transformation. Funny hearing Jim Carrey sounding like Sean Connery. I read that he made the makeup artist who did the makeup for Charlize Theron in Bombshell cry as he lost it.
1. I thought it would be her charcther in Bombshell.
Darkman had good special makeup effects too. I'm pissed Colin Farrell only got a honorable mention.

Okay half good list but how could you not name Doug Jones! He is one of the most famous makeup transformation actors ever. He has been;
Abe Sapien Hellboy
The Amphibian Man Shape of Water
Billy from Hocus Pocus
Fauno Pan's Labyrinth
To name a few you had better a a hole list just for Doug Jones to make up for this disrespect, he has sat in a makeup chair for up to 10 hours for a role.

- Doug Jones definitely deserved a spot in this list for his role as the Asset in The Shape of Water.
- Ron Peralman is also a phenomenal actor that began building his career by doing creature characters & undergoing extensive makeup to play the part.

What about Collin Ferrell (believe that's his name) in The Batman played as Penguin? I didn't even know that was him! Even when I watched the movie again I still couldn't believe that was him! Such an amazing job.

How the hell do you mess up a list by putting some cg crap on this list. When people literally had to sit for hours in a chair. This list is broken as most are recently that you put out and your number 1 is garbage

Speaking of Bill Skarsgard, if Warner Bros Discovery ever chose to give a hard fresh reboot to the DCEU they could always recast Leto with him. Cause if Joaquin Phoenix can why can't Bill himself?

No, MsMojo, I do not agree with your list.
You're telling me Voldemort and Charlize Theron's makeup in Monster are better than Jeff Goldblum's Brundlefly makeup from The Fly (1986?

Mad props to all these actors transforming into their roles because we should know that it is not easy to act while wearing makeup from head to toe.

Grinch director Ron Howard decided to wear the Grinch make up for an entire day just to see how it feels. And it really cheered everyone up.
