They don't always work, but we're actually like to see these live-action remakes. For this list, well be looking at animated classics that could not only translate well to live-action, but bring a fresh, innovative perspective to the table as opposed to being a shot-for-shot cash grab. Our countdown includes The Croods, Wizards, The Black Cauldron, and more! Which live-action remake of an animated movie do YOU actually want?

I would love to see a live action Anastasia or live action thumbelina but done right the live action thumbelina I would like to see I would like to have her be more stronger and independent woman and have her not wine all throughout the movie and I would like to see Giacomo the bird that was her companion and mentor instead of acting happy go lucky have him act human even though he's a bird and have him get upset sometimes when tumbling is treating unfairly by the Beatles and have him get sad over Prince Cornelius death and also have thumbelina the optimistic and also have a scene where she reunites with her mother since she got stolen with her mother by a toad because in the original she just reunited with Prince Cornelius and got married and didn't reunite with her mother at first

If Rise of the Guardians comes, Jack's outfit should stay the same as it was when he was reborn instead of modern clothes. Maybe even throw in all the guardian characters from the books including og ones for the film Cupid and Lucky the leprechaun (who was briefly mentioned by Sandy. I'm all in for The Black Cauldron as that was my fav growing up in the 90's. The Hunchback is already in the works, let's hope they keep the dark mature elements that was part of making it great (infanticide, lust, damnation, antiziganism, genocide, and sin, ) instead of old faction sweetness. And keep Esmeralda looking like an Indian-Romani woman with her pretty green eyes. It was only until that movie did she have dark skin.

I literally always loved Road to El Dorado as a kid. I remember as a kid growing up I had a crush on the chick in the movie. (Havent watched it in a really long time) Atlantis would be amazing too. Ive always wanted to see live remakes of several movies too. Tarzan (not the one we got that was set in the future, but an actual remake of the Disney Animated version, Batman Under The Red Hood, Spirited Away, Spirit, Howls Moving Castle, Ponyo, and My Neighbor Totoro. Literally every single Studio Ghibli movie could be made into a really good live action remake.

How about Here Come The Littles as a live action movie or Disney's Gargoyles, how about Heavy Metal as a R-rated TV series based on it's chapters from the movie but I do have 2 anime's that could be live action, I know they have a bad reputation but I think that Nauicaa of the valley of the wind would make a good series and also JoJo's bizarre adventure as a live action series and yes I do know about the live action movie but JoJo is mostly a inspired western manga.

And I also would love to see a wild thornberrys live action movie and I also want to be a franchise too and I also would love to see a live-action baby's kids instead of the babies kids being kids like in the original what if they be teenagers and be troublemakers instead of the youngest one being talking baby the youngest one can be 12 and I also love to see a live action we're back a dinosaur story and I also would like to see a live action FernGully

Um. wouldn't a Samoan, Native American, or South Asian actress work better for Kaida instead of one of Hollywood's leading black actresses? Zoe Saldana is talented, but I don't think Kaida was ever meant to be of African descent (but I could be wrong. I'm not some Atlantis stan and haven't seen the movie in over a decade, just saying. It either sounds really random or really. miscast. Pretty sure she was meant to be ambgiously brown, as the trope goes.

Princess and the Frog, Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Last Unicorn, and especially TREASURE PLANET are the few that I actually want remakes of
For El Dorado, I would extremely skeptical, and I dont think it would work without most of the OG songs/score. However, it would be a great time to retry the original script with Tulio and Miguel being in a romantic relationship, seeing as society has become a little more accepting in the last 22 years

I'm late to this video, but totally agree with the top 3. I would also throw in Anastasia, though make a film version of the stage musical. I am hoping if the Percy Jackson series does well that stories like Black Cauldron will get the series treatment, and perhaps Earthsea as well. Also, the new Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa, has recently said that he wants to play the villain in Princess and the Frog, which is inspired casting.

Now when it comes to the movie RISE OF THE GUARDIANS; I think it would be great if a cartoon show series was made, I imagine it first shows origin-stories about each character, then later shows how each of the characters came together, and when they did.
In addition I suggest that much later introduction on the day when (Jack Frost) joins the team, and then after that show all the adventures he has with them.

Ok but top three live action versions of Dreamworks movies I would love to see is The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado and of course, gotta include either How To Train Your Dragon or Rise of the Guardians. Very good yet underappreciated work
reply

I definitely need to see a live action Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Road to El Dorado. I adore Meet the Robinsons. I simply wanted a sequel to Rise of the Guardians, and then you mentioned Tom Holland as Jack Frost Now, I need that too.

My brother and I have long since wondered who would be cast in El Dorado, mostly who would play Zekel Kan. I'm a little disappointed that Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas isn't on here, I was REALLY wondering who would play who

Now when it comes to the movie (THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH) I am not sure about it getting made into a live-action movie.
But I do think that it might be great if (THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH) was made into a show series someday.

My fan casting for a live action rise of the guardians
Jack Frost: Tom holland
Tooth fairy: Kristen bell
Sandman: Danny daveto
Easter bunny will arnet
Santa: David harbour
Pitch black: Mathew mconaughey

I very much agree with the Road to El Dorado getting the number one spot. Also, if this film gets remade or continued in any capacity, they need to actually let Tulio and Miguel be gay for each other.
reply

Heres an idea hardly ever thought in the history of modern cinema, an animated or live action movie that IS NOT an often worse remake or sequel of an amazing movie. I miss the good ol days
reply

This video made me long for a Live action Dr. Drakken origin movie (Kim Possible) & one for Bender (Futurama. I want it tasteful like the live action Maleficent movies.
reply

as both are owned by Disney, if live action Disney remake characters were MCU characters, would Illosovic Stayne/Knave of Hearts (Crispin Glover's character) be Loki?
reply

The Black Cauldron I would love to see a real movie of that a live action I love the black colors and that was little I wish I was the black code would be alive action
reply

The Black Cauldron and Atlantis are my top two wishes for a remake. I actually do not want them to touch The Last Unicorn, it was amazing in its own quirky way.
reply

I hope we can all agree that if Leonard Nemoy hadn't died we would keep him in the role of the king of Atlantis. Morgan Freeman is good, but Nemoy was wonderful.
reply

For Milo in Atlantis, Grant Gustan would play the nerdy, bumbling side of the character better than Andrew Garfield. This is proven by his portrayal as The Flash.
reply

Wow the cast of Atlantis is so spot on that I actually expect it to happen. Thank you very much Mojo, now I'll have one more fan fiction that will never happen.
reply

if they make a black cauldron remake i hop they cast mark hamil or Tim curry or jim cummings or ray porter or cirean highs as the horned king
reply

Leave the fox and the hound alone! Theres nothing wrong with it and not having Todd and Copper talk is a ridiculous thought.
reply

I wanna see a live action remake of How To Train Your Dragon it's just basically Braveheart combined with Jurassic Park
reply

After some reflection, the only actor who I think would be an awesome King Haggard is Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister!
reply

Dr. Facilier: Are You Serious Disney?
Jafar: You're At It Again Disney
Judge Frollo: Seriously Disney Come On

reply

3: 25 Yes! If Laura Harrier is Tiana.
11: 09 Yes! If Sadie Sink is Merida. And a PG-13 rating would be fine.
