If you have never seen Hunt for the Wildepeople, you have not lived. I saw Sam Neill talking about it on Graham Norton show and got it as soon as possible. Loved it and never realized that he did What we do in the Shadows movie. Then I searched out all his work and have never been disappointed until Love and Thunder. Hope that is just a blip
PLUS DEFINITELY LOOK UP HIM ON SUPPORTING RACISM. Only he can make such a serious subject funny and thought provoking.

I have a very soft spot for him reading a letter about a guy getting a speed ticket (you have lots of letters that are emotional or hilarious read by Benedict Cumberbatch, Jude Law, Olivia Coleman, and lot of others but the one read by Taika Waititi was very much hilarious AND read with NZ accent.
One of the best ways to start your day with a laugh if you ask me. :)

I absolutely loved him in Free Guy - theres a small moment in the film when he makes a ridiculous request of the art department and gets their attention by bellowing across the office oh ART NERDS! I dont know why that makes me giggle so hard, maybe his delivery like a medieval spoiled prince summoning a courtier, but its one I absolutely love

Taika is filmmaking goals - I am a super-indie filmmaker (my budget is donuts for the cast and crew, most of the time) and I absolutely want to work up to his level of skill and talent. He has an eye for film that I can only aspire to

What we do in the Shadows is one of my favourite films. A spin-off from this, I would also recommend 'Wellington Paranormal' (not Taika but similar mockumentary style and hilarious)

I've loved him and his work since the WWDitS short. Everything since then has been great. And the personal appearances on TV shows have been the gravy on the fries.

He is not dancing in Boy. It is his Haka to Michael Jackson.
Hakas are not just done before sporting events, but at Weddings, Funerals, and to honour someone.

Recently, Chris Hemsworth had a mail-in signing through SWAU, and when Taika heard that he was signing stuff, Taika decided to tag along, and sign some stuff.

Love his recent interviews where he diverts the topic to talk about ofmd XD. You can tell he loves it so much and talks so positively about its representation

Was gonna say, if Jojo isn't #1.
Mostly because it's such an excellent movie and it's what made me take him seriously and showed his range

You have the glorious movie The Hunt for the Wilderpeople to show for his pride in New Zealand but you pick a friggin Moana clip?

All of the pictures where he is napping in weird places. Someone actually made a Twitter thread of different pictures of him.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople! How could it not even rate a mention? Taika and Sam Neill (plus Rhys Darby. My god, brilliant.

Is that the correct pronunciation of Waititi? Ive also heard the emphasis placed on the second syllable.

And I cant stop watching free guy which has the added benefit of pairing him with the delicious joe keery

The vampire murder trial was the funniest things Ive seen in a long time. Pre-meditated vampicide!
