Aladdin doesn't present anything resembling the vandalism theory.
The sphinx would have been under construction 4, 5000 years ago, the purported act of vandalism is from 1378. Aladdin presents it as an accident by a sculptor, not an intentional defacing by Muhammad Sa'im al-Dahr millennia later. There's no agreed cause, but wind damage is more likely. The story about Napoleon's troops shooting it off that was taught in schools for decades is nothing but a story, sketches from before Napoleon's birth showed the sphinx noseless.

Anastasia was not put out by Disney. It was created by Don Bluth who also did Thumbelina and was distributed by 20th Century Fox. Regardless, they should have not taken such creative license with a true life personage. My girls loved this movie which came out in 1998, but the remains of the family, except for the two youngest members had been confirmed by DNA in 1997. While Anastasia and her brother's bodies were not found and positively identified until 2007, there was enough information to know she had not survived the massacre.

I dont think the Princess and the Frog vastly ignored racial injustice, its just the injustice is not central to the story. You can see it constantly in the background, but its not the main point. I wish more black movies were like that because its more realistic that way. Even though battling injustice has its place, were not all actively doing that. Some people just live in the world we were born in, and play the cards we were dealt

Wanted to let you know a fact about Anna Anderson.
Anna NEVER pretended she was Anastasia (ok, she kind of did, hear me out. Anna was going through amnesia and the people would tell her things like You look like princess Anastasia You sound like princess Anastasia You're DEFINITELY princess Anastasia, and she slowly started believing that she WAS princess Anastasia.
(Not trying to defend Anna, just teaching you facts)

430: I can handle simple mistakes Ive seen from previous mojo videos but still, Anastasia is not a Disney movie! I know the difference including DreamWorks movies. I love Anastasia but it wasnt made by the Walt Disney Company, it was made by Don Bluth (who used to work with the company. Broadway, Princess, villain, musical, A List, I get it but it didnt become Disney property until like after or before the pandemic

Let be honest everyone we don't be watching Disney movies for authentic portrayal of centuries don't we? Also racism in that century where Princess In The Frog is located, another thing about segregation. Most black men could have voted but it will be usually overshadowed by the white men vote while black women couldn't really voted because they have to also faced misogyny as long as racism.

okay Moana has been my second favorite Disney Movie for Years now (2nd only to Sleeping Beauty for PURELY nostalgic reasons lol) because of its representation of my culture (however stylized and inaccurate lol) and lovable characters that remind me of members of my own family. Now knowing the basis of the story was based on an actual event of unknown origin. I love it even more now!

Sorry, but Anastasia isn't a Disney film. As an animation nerd, I feel a need to point that out. I don't care that Bluth worked for Disney at one point or that 20th Century Fox is now a Disney property. Anastasia is not a Disney film. It wasn't released by Buena Vista Pictures, nor does it have Disney's animation studio attached to it. Disney is nowhere on the project.

I am excited that Disney now owning Anastatia means we could possibly have a live action eventually but it shouldn't be on this list. It's one of my fav animated films of all time and Disney had nothing to do with making it. As much as I'm a fan of Disney, this movie should NOT have been on this list

When the House of Mouse dusted off their history books.
So why are you talking about Anastasia? While Disney owns it, they played no part in the actual production.
Someone needs to dust off THEIR history books.
And no, the disclaimer at the beginning did not satisfy me.

I really don't feel that movies released under Fox should be put on a Disney movies list just because Fox is part of Disney now. That doesn't mean that Disney made all of the old Fox films. I don't know, just calling them Disney films to make a list seems wrong somehow.

This is the second MsMojo video I've seen that glosses over the fact that _Anastasia_ was not made by Disney, and makes absolutely no mention of the people actually responsible for the creation of the film. Repeatedly giving Disney credit they didn't earn does MsMojo no credit.

Considering disney is fast becoming a monopoly on entertainment. Demolition Man used taco bell, but should've put disney as the company that owned everything.

Even though Disney now owns the rights to Anastasia, the animated movie wasn't made by Disney and shouldn't be classified as a Disney movie. And it's success wasn't due to Disney.

Not to be nitpicky but Anastasia was originally not a Disney movie, and the only reason it is now a Disney movie is because Disney bought Century Fox.
