In regards to Korra and Asami's relationship: There was build up to it.
To those who think there was no build up, my guess is they just weren't paying attention.
Throughout the show we saw Korra and Asami growing closer, valuing each other's abilities and caring for each other. They went from strangers, to friends and confidants, to lovers. And it was well done. Their relationship really grew organically and not forced at all.
To say they got together just in the end would be correct but only in the sense that yes, by going on a vacation together they are admiting/acknowledging that they want to be with the other. But that doesn't mean they just fell in love with each other. And the graphic novel Turf Wars expresses as such. It was between Books 3 and 4 that they realized they had feelings for each other. They just couldn't dedicate too much time to it because of Korra's recovery, Asami being busy with helping in the city and her farther in prison trying to reconnect with her, Korra having to deal with Kuvira's conqueror's streak, etc. There was too much going on around them to actually have the time to sit and talk about it. But that doesn't mean those feelings weren't there.
Of course that would be the in universe explanation of what happened. But the reality explanation is that Bryan and Mike had to do their best to convey these two women falling in love with each other with the Nickelodeon executives pretty much breathing on their necks. Nickelodeon had already tried taking down the show for dumb reasons, Korra being a female protagonist being the biggest issue for them, which sucks. So of course Bryan and Mike couldn't possibly show two women talking explicitly about loving each other or kissing without the risk of Nickelodeon executives pulling the plug on them just like that.
Also, in my personal opinion, I'm more than ok with the show not having Korra and Asami kiss at the end of the show because even if they've been friends for years, they were just starting a new relationship. Not everything has to be conveyed through a kiss on the lips and the ending is way more believable and endearing as it is.
Them having their first kiss on their vacation in the Spirit World makes more sense (and the scene is really sweet.

Kuvira becoming a dictator was an oversight on Zaheer's part. He couldn't have known that would happen if he went through with killing the Earth Queen, but it was still something he should have taken into consideration.
Also, Kuvira is wrong. Korra wasn't the Avatar that everyone praised and held to a high regard. Her journey began with the world not needing the Avatar, or trying to move on from needing the Avatar, after going through 100 years with no Avatar around and the Fire Nation becoming power hungry until Avatar Aang and his friends defeated the Fire Lord, which led to Zuko becoming Fire Lord. Korra's journey went in the opposite direction of Aang's. He was needed as the Avatar but ran away from his responsibilities which led to the 100 year period of the Fire Nation's dominance, while she is trying to look for relevance as the Avatar after hearing stories about previous Avatars and their accomplishments. Both ended up where the other started from, forming a full circle.

When I first watched the first few episodes, I didn't really like how Korra seemed to be getting into so much trouble and dealing with misunderstandings. Yes, she's a teenager and it's ok for teens, especially role models like the Avatar, to make mistakes so everyone knows it's ok, but considering it was right at the beginning of the series I didn't get the best first impression. Aang was a troublemaker, but he was still a child. 112, yes, but he had been stuck in an ice burg for 100 years and didn't know what had happened to the world until Sokka and Katara showed him, and he realized he was the last of his people. He still joked around, but he was also able to mature and become a great leader. So, I decided to give LOK a second chance and realized how alike and just as incredible it was and fell in love.

About Korrasami, it isn't exactly what we should keep doing with LGBT rep but it was perfect, and here's why. First off Korra made history with this being the first cartoon of it's time to include a gay love relationship meaning that of course they weren't really allowed to show it or express it but it allowed for us to have shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe go running.
And the buildup was gonna be sparse because of that but I honestly think it works perfectly, the show couldn't flesh out so many characters and its messy with it, but they did establish Korra and Asami building a bond which in return ended the show with it starting a relationship after Korra finally is in a place where she is mentally well enough to do so.

People underestimate and hate on Legends of chorus so much because they're looking for that nostalgic feel-good feel that The last Airbender brought I get it and his duty was to stop a war but Cora she dealt with some real shit and I love how each season was a different villain. Or some better than others yes my favorite season will definitely be the season of The White lotus followed by kuvira then Amanda then raava. However my favorite episodes are when we learn about the very first Avatar that's my favorite episode

The main problem with the anarchy theory is that no matter what people seek Structure in Chaos. Every time there will either a group or a single person to bring people together to lead them, for better or worse. It is a cycle repeated through history. Anarchy can rein, but only for a short time, eventually the masses will always look to something or someone higher to give them purpose and structure. Then it all falls apart because people get upset with their lot in the grand scheme, and it starts all over again.

When I first watched Avatar especially about Aang I didn't really see how real and truly dark it was but I still really love and appreciate cause how it shows there is nothing wrong for being a little wrong, scared, clumsy, failing, falling etc. all these negatives emotions we feel at times are part of who we are because all these things are what makes us truly human and can make you a better person it you accept them and learn from them.

Ive rewatched this and its so relatable to whats been going on.
Amon and Tarlok is Trump/Fox News terrorizing people and using fear mongering to distort the truth.
Northern Water Tribe is the CCP/China trying to unite and takeover the Southern Water Tribe (Hong Kong)
Trump and China's president is much like Kuvera. A Dictator.

the problem i had with korra and asami getting together in the ending was that it felt forced and came out of nowhere
since they never had any romantic connection or tension throughout the series
then they made the comics where they explored further into their relationship and coming out

What right or purpose does lgbqt plus has being inserted into a kids show? They already get publicity and recognition in adult frachizes and series. Leave child designated spaces alone and stop indoctrination children into thinking this is normal, it's abnormal and nonproductive

When I first watched this some 10 yrs ago, I didn't really connect with Korra. I rewatched the series literally last month and was blown away at how amazing the series actually is, from the art work, to the characters and stories, it's amazing what time does to a person

Korra and Asami's relationship is the right way of representation, it wasn't forced, intimidating or embarrassed like many others that try always to push it, their relationship was actually a really good thing and enjoyable, take notes on how to make it the right way

That's one of the reasons why the Avatar franchise is so popular, they're not afraid to talk about serious issues that plague our world. Even though The Legend of Korra wasn't as great as Avatar: The Last Airbender, it's still a gem in its own right.

Both TLA and LOK have intetesting mature storylines rivaling to anime. Something Netflix producers would never understand. The antagonists saw themselves as heroes and their ends just justified their means. I hope we get the proper sequel.

I'd just switch places to one and two. This list is great and shows that TLOK is just as good as ATLA by stories and topics we get to see. ATLA just has more small details that make it better for watching, but both stories are really great

It was heartbreaking how complicated Tophs relationship with both her daughters was and how complicated the relationship between them was as well
But still heartwarming how they made up and came together to fight Kuivira

As a young queer person, Korrasami will always hold a very special place in my heart, they really helped me realise that it's totally okay for me to like girls and that being lgbtq is beautiful.

TLOK has one of the best portrayals of PTSD I've ever seen on television. Such a pity this show wasn't given the respect it deserved and fought tooth and nail to earn from Nickelodeon.

I definitely think these characters would love Les Miserables and The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. They'd probably also like songs like Stairway To Heaven and Bohemian Rhapsody.

They certainly got the first part of the word dictator right about Kuvera. And she isn't the only one in the series that I noticed that acted like that.

The red lotus were my favorite villains in korra. They were right to call out the corrupt queen and people in power but their actions were evil.
