Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Toy Story 2
2. Monsters University
3. The lion king 1 1/2
You guys have the right top 3 in my opinion. These are all great, even after the original movies were master pieces the sequels are still fantastic. It is so rare to have a sequel called 1 1/2, it probably makes sense since the story takes place in between scenes of the first movie. I honestly prefer my favorite Toy Story movies in number order (1, 2, 3, 4, the reason I prefer 2 over 3 is because was the design and music were better than the third movie, I like the old computer animated design, it also had better new characters, including Jessie, Bullseye and Wheezy. One of my favorite moments in Toy Story 2 was the bloopers, I laughed so hard watching these, I couldn't help watching them over and over again, but other than that, the best part of movie was when she loved me, it was so touching, I feel everybody can relate to this growing up as time flies.

Return to Neverland was actually pretty decent for what it was worth. BABTEC was absolutely amazing! Tim Curry did a phenomenal job, Bernadette Peters was annoyingly hilarious in a way that makes sense.
LATT2 was a cute sequel that allowed us a glimpse into what happens when a previously-bad-boy is allowed to find his princess and settle down.
Aladdin and the King of Thieves was a beautiful finish to an already hit classic.
The Lion King 1 1/2 was a clever little in-between-quel that managed to put a new spin on an old classic.
TLM2 (imho) was better than Cinderella 2 and 3.
An Extremely Goofy Movie was a hilarious sequel to an already amazing movie.
Toy Story 2 was where the franchise lost me (to the point where I haven't even seen Toy Story 3 or 4.

I love Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure! Those were great to me as a kid and still are now!
I liked Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time more than the original and it's the same with Return to Neverland and An Extremely Goofy Movie as well!
I quite enjoyed Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, Hercules: Zero to Hero and Tangled: Before Ever After.
All the Toy Story movies are fun.
Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch was fine.
I didn't like Lion King 1 1/2 or Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas as a kid. I still don't like them very much now. I've never been able to get into Monsters Inc. 101Dalmations 2: Patch's London Adventure was meh.

reply

Haven't seen the Hercules one, and I don't consider Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas one of the best, but I love every other film on the list! Especially Bambi 2, Toy Story 2, 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure, Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time, Peter Pan: Return to Never Land, Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure, The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, and Monsters University!
Edit: Aladdin and the King of Thieves is one of my absolute favourites too! (Forgot to mention the film)

reply

I have almost every one of these sequels.
Mostly I don't have Return to Neverland, Lady and the Tramp 2, Cinderella 3, Monsters University, Hercules Zero to Hero and Tangled Before Ever After.
I technically have An Extremely Goofy Movie, but I've never watched it.
As for those I do have, when it comes to the Lion King sequels, I not only have them, but they're the original special editions you can't get anymore.

I'm partial to Jungle Book 2, myself--by the end of the first film, Mowgli only walked into the Man Village through feminine wiles--he learned nothing. In the Sequel, however, he learns about what it means to learn how things aren't always black and white--even after returning to the jungle. I think it's a decent film to teach us that it's okay to have both (memories of the past and hope for the future.

For me, the most underrated was The Lion King 1 1/2, well as you said, I also realized that it speaks a lot about the importance of friendship and family 9: 01, 9: 27, 9: 37-9: 46 You gave me in the heart, these moments moved me a lot in the movie. Howall these underrated movies? My favorites also are: Bambi II, Toy Story 2, Cinderella 3, Peter Pan 2, The Lady and Tramp II
reply

I'm sorry, but I found Toy Story 2 to be greatly OVERrated. The whole Let's make Woody a World-Wide Franchise, that insipid song with Jessie's backstory, an antagonist who doesn't even get out of his box. I usually skip 2 and head straight to 3 and 4. Also, how can you call it underrated when just about everyone goes on and on about it?
reply

For me Frozen 2 is criminally underrated. Yeah I know it grossed $1 billion or something, but I mean peoples opinion and not the box office success. I saw the sequel dealing with more serious issues than the original and being much more mature & dramatic, but the majority misses catchy songs and gags in it. Thats sad.
reply

Lion King 2 SImba's Pride and Aladdin and the King of Thieves are simply epic. Solid continuations of their respected franchises. (He Lives in You is Gold)
Lastly, I don't consider Toy Story 2 underrated (does it get less attention than 1 or 3, maybe. But its the more polished film of that franchise.

reply

My list would be:
1. Lion King 2
2. Monster's University
3. Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas
4. Toy Story 2
5. Aladdin 3
6. Lady and the Tramp 2
7. Lilo and Stitch 2
8. An Extremely Goofy Movie
9. Little Mermaid 2
10. Peter Pan 2

reply

I actually saw Lilo and Stitch 2 on the big screen once in 2005. My hometown showed it for a free canned good movie. The whole auditorium was packed with families. What made it better was that I was on a water park resort vacation in that town. I miss the early 2000s.
reply

I feel like The Little Mermaid Ariel's Beginning should have been here. It's such a sweet story and really explains why Ariel is the way she is, how tyrannical and controlling her father really is, and the living relationship between Flounder and Ariel
reply

Let's be honest, no disney movie sequel is good, almost all of them are mediocre from their animation to their story.
Yes, perhaps the lion king 2 or cinderella 3 are the best, but in itself, a disaster. Unlike Pixar who knew how to make sequels

reply

Return to neverland, beauty and the beast the enchanted Christmas and Aladdin king of thieves were my constant sequel requests growing up and Cinderella 3 is something my mom bought me for the Easter season
reply

Fun fact: in some countries like Australia the lion king 1 1/2 hakuna matata was actually called the lion king 3. I think its really clever how they fixed up as 1 1/2 is kind of confusing for the most part.
reply

Aladdin and the King of Thieves should have been number 1 on this list and Cinderella 2 dreams come true never should have been made! Cinderella a twist in time covers EVERYTHING that the 2nd one does!
reply

I was worried about Robin William's when I heard he was coming back for the 3rd Aladdin. He made a joke, You'll know I'm desperate when I'm standing on the sidewalk with a sign, 'Will Work for Disney'.
reply

Its funny to me that you say third entry cause in the trailer Timon says three? No, no, no, three has got to go. Then he changed the title to The Lion King 1 1/2.
There. Now this title is a knockout

reply

Not underrated at all but I can agree with this one. I love the VHS opening of Toy Story 2 and its the first Pixar movie I saw in theaters. I got the nickname Movie Queen by my parents
reply

the thing is about the The Lion King 1 1/2 is that is has a completely different story of hwo they meet from The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa cartoon spin-off Once Upon a Timon
reply

Aladdin and the King of Thieves, The Little Mermaid 2, The Lion King 2, and Return to Neverland were some of the best! We used to have most of these movies on VHS
reply

reply
