Thanks for including the songs of the sequels: ) My favs are: Under the Sea (has a great rhytm without equal, Kiss the Girl ( it's sweet, romantic, For a Moment (it's awesome and brilliant as Melody, I loved it as a child, I will sing (I loved the lyrics, because since I was a child, I love to sing, I remember (it's beautiful, Down to the Sea (I love how that starts the movie and how Ariel sings: my singing was born in you), Part of your world, the Triton's daughters (It sounded fantastic until the end jaja. And I would to wish to see the Musical, it looks wonderful with its songs: she is in love and One step closer.

Honestly, I prefer Daddys Little Angel to I Want the Good Times Back. It really reinforces just how evil Ursula is and how far shell go to obtain power, and overall I prefer its melody and rhythm. Plus the interjections from Flotsam and Jetsam are pretty funny as well as telling. I also like how it presents Ursula as a fellow seventh and youngest daughter, just like Ariel. Theres been a kind of off-kilter yin-yang dynamic between the two ladies since the first movie, and this song adds a new dimension to it.

The little mermaid on Broadway is such a grossly underrated musical. The new songs are just amazing. One Step Closer, She's In Love, My Wildest Dreams, and If Only, to name a few, are great additions to the story. Fun fact, the the music for one step closer is a repurposed instrumental from the movie called The jig and also there's a part in the song in my wildest dreams that is also a repurposed instrumental from the movie called the wedding announcement

I was wondering how there were 20 songs its the whole franchise.
I forgot about les poissons, but I expect half my generation learned how to say fish in French because of this song.
I am from Barbados, so I love all the Caribbean vibes, from Kiss de Girl to Under the Sea, even if I have never met a Trinidadian who signs off on Sebastians Trini accent. Lol.
Is anyone shocked by this top 3? Legends, all of them.

FUN FACT: Jeffrey Katzenberg almost removed the Part of Your World song from the final cut because he believed it would be too boring for children, especially some kid who accidentally dropped its box of popcorn during a screen test. Everyone tried to defend the song from him until Ariel's lead animator: Glen Keane convinced him to keep the song by giving it another chance at the screen test. in color.

I gotta say it: I prefer Halle's version of part of your world. Don't get me wrong, Jodi's original version is iconic, but I've always felt that she was restrained while singing, especially in the crucial part when she should explode. When Halle sings, I burst into tears because her voice is so powerful and she can bring all the emotions she's feeling. Can't wait to see her on the big screen

The world above should have been ranked higher IMO: ) great list tho! Part of That World legit makes me cry any time i hear or perform it: D
reply

it kind of disappointing you left out the tv series partially the memorable in harmony from the episode evil manta not to mention the song from ariel first time meeting scuttle which the bird sings called give me a chance or Ursula getting another chance to strut her stuff with you wouldn't want to mess with me
reply

Yall missed some good moments to add songs from the series in there like just a little love in harmony daring to sing never give up you got to be you I feel tend to forget about there is a little mermaid series. also Im surprised beyond my wildest dreams didnt make the list not even an honorable mention

I have a favorite song from each.
The Little Mermaid (1989) - Part Of Your World
The Little Mermaid 2: Return To The Sea - For A Moment
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning - I Remember
The Little Mermaid on Broadway - If Only (Quartet)
The Little Mermaid the Series - In Harmony

Part of Your World will always be one of my favorite songs period because its so beautiful, personally relatable, replay-able, and I love hearing different singers approach the song differently.
Though Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, and Poor Unfortunate Souls are also phenomenal.

I've listened to most of the songs in the remake, and I'll just say this: they somehow inproved most, if not all, of the original's already AMAZING soundtrack.
If nothing else, Halle Bailey's singing chops are somehow better than Jodi Benson's, imo.

8: 03 well since Eric never sang in the original, he is gonna sing in the live action, but its not gonna be the song Her Voice, its gonna be a new song called Wild Enchanted Waters and when I listened to it, its kind of similar to Her Voice.
reply

How come the new songs in the Broadway version is so good and Disney ended up making trash that is the entire live action. Like this shit ain't new, you have the original and other version to based off of and you stil fckd up. WOW
reply

If Only Quaret was my favorite of the Stage exclusives especially at the end when Eric realized if the voice he seeks appears at the contest, he could lose Ariel who he's falling in love with despite having no voice
reply

Since the original movie didnt have 20, I figured this would include songs from sequels, the series, and live action movie but the broadway musical. Im surprised they didnt at least include In Harmony from the show.
reply

Best song from the Little Mermaid to me was always Poor Unfortunate Souls. I dis watch the other movies but it didnt hit quite the same. Also alsooo i noticed that a lot of the original TLM songs were pretty sad.
reply

I Want the Good Times Back is such a fun number. I had been rather unfamiliar with the musical up until I had seen an incredible high school production of it. Ursula has such a good comedic role in the musical.
reply

Part of your world is my top. Excited to listen to Halle Baileys performance. Im a big fan of the musical, also though, so if only is definitely up there as one of my favorites. Got a love the harmonies in that.
reply

Well I agree with most of the numbers on this list Im a bit disappointed not a single song from the little mermaid series made it onto this list because Daring to Dance and In Harmony are classic bops
reply

The top Songs from The Little Mermaid franchise that I recognize and enjoy listening to are Daughters of Triton, Fathoms Below, Les Poissons, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Under the Swa and Part of Your Word
reply

Part of Your World will always be our favorite ballad of the whole franchise! My personal favorite & love Jodis voice. Looking forward to see Halles performance in the new film.
reply

Part of Your World truly is a masterpiece of both composition and storytelling through song. But I have to ask - how is In Harmony from The Little Mermaid TV series not on this list?
reply

I love how Ariel named her daughter Melody, and they each share a motif. The melody of Ariels lines in Down to the Sea and her part when shes singing her part in For A Moment.
reply

Part of Your World was my first Disney song to sing along in my first Disney cassette. I still sing along to it even though I have my solid favorite Beauty and the Beast.
reply

Very very great list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever one of my favorite songs is kiss the girl and part of your world
reply

Ok this song is part of that world.
In the reprise she sings part of your world. I have loved this movie since was 16 when it came out. Its a mandela effect.

reply

I'm a little disapointed that the song In Harmony didn't make it on this list. It's a good one. But for the songs that did make, they picked some pretty good ones.
reply

I wish you had waited and included songs from the remake. I really like For the First Time, Wild Uncharted Waters, and the third reprise of Part of Your World!
