Disney likely has more shelved projects than released ones! For this list, well be looking at the studios biggest projects that never came to fruition. Our countdown includes Dumbo II, A Few Good Ghosts, Wild Life and more! Which one of these films would you have loved to see on the big screen? Sound off in our comment section after the video!

I've heard that Disney once planed to make live action of Snow White and Rose Red, who is her sister, adapted from fairy tales with the same name although it is the whole different story and has nothing relate to Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. In series Once Upon A Time, Disney introduces us Snow White and Red who is actually Red Riding Hood so in Disney Universe, maybe Rose Red and Red Riding Hood are the same person. However, for Red Riding Hood, we only have one chance to see her as an animated character in Silly Symphony. Don't you all think this is a good Idea for Disney to make a whole animated movie of her?

i remember back when newt was coming out seeing the artwork along it being similar to rio being one of the reasons.
instead of the unnecessary remakes would love if they brought back at least some of these movies as disney's concepts were always fun for me to look into(also remember seeing a scrapped 7 dwarves animation)
would've liked to have seen dumbo 2, fraidy cat, the emeror's nightingale(mickey mouse needs a recent movie in general) & especially gigantic(really hope that's brought back in some way. :3.

1: 22 thank goodness it flopped at the box office and thank god it never got a live action sequel to this 2019 live action abomination of feces. Because it Disney gave dumbo a second round in live action form of the same plot to the cancelled sequel them it would have been much much worse and it wouldve made the sequel impossible and furry overload. And thank goodness Tim Burton Left the Company and never got to work with Disney Again!

Kingdom of the Sun sounded good. Would've paired David Spade with Owen Wilson in this adventure comedy. Really wanted to see those two's comedic chops play off of each other in a sort of Prince and the Pauper scenario.
Of course, ultimately it morphed into what we now see today as Emperor's New Groove and Owen Wilson left. But don't worry, he got to be a competitive red race car in a few years.

I was really looking forward to Gigantic. Heard so much about it at D23 years back. It would mark the second time Disney took on the Jack and the Beanstalk tale with several twists.
And to think it served as an easter egg in Zootopia among Duke Weaselton's bootleg DVD display. It never saw the light of day, so much for that little reference.

Dumbo 2, Fraidy Cat, The Emperor's Nightingale, A Few Good Ghosts, Wild Life, Mort, Tam Lin, King of the Elves, Newt, and Gigantic. These animated movies should get made, everyone should forget live-action. I'm going with a future where animated movies and shows will rule.
reply

Newt feels just like frog prince. We see the same relationship between two main characters. As fas as i see in this video, disney still uses these failed ideas in succesful movies. They don't entirely throw up them and that's super cool.
reply

I think maybe it would be amazing if Disney and Pixar could redo both Newt and Gigantic, like maybe come up with new story lines for them or something like that, I mean there could be a possibility of a few second tries
reply

Since Disney's live action films have brought only infamy maybe the company should pick up these ideas they've dropped and give them a chance in the spotlight. They don't have any other good ideas of their own left.
reply

It's so sad that Disney's Gigantic got canceled.
If Gigantic has a second chance, maybe the movie can be released on the big screen in either the Late Summer of 2023 or by the beginning of the First Half of 2024.

reply

So sad that we never got Gigantic, it was clearly a fair way into development given that they announced it and it also had an easter egg in Zootopia, I hope they take another look at it and try to rework it
reply

I want ALL of the REJECTED animated movie projects to ACTUALLY be brought back into production and become ACTUAL animated movies to be released on the big screen FOR REAL AND FOR GOOD ONE DAY!
reply

Instead of new projects they cast people who dont look shit like the characters in the original like lilo and stitch; white and washing the Polynesians that play in the movie. It aggravating

Latest news: Disney has cancelled the Roger Rabbit sequel that was originally announced for theatrical release in 2012, two years prior to Bob Hoskins' passing.
Ian Robert Scott Laidlaw

You forgot Catfish Bend. Read the books as a kid and was excited that Disney was making a movie. It was was on all the books. Soon to a Disney movie. Still would love to see it done.
reply

One Disney project that Im said got cancelled was a different version on Where the Wild Things Are. It looked interesting in test footage, I dont know why it got shot down
reply

I remember reading that Newt was cancelled due to the story being too similar to Dreamwork's Rio which was in production at the same time and had a close release window
reply

The Emperor's Nightingale would be a great release now b/c it would be a neat commentary about A. I. that we're using alot.
Of course, Studios is favoring AI rn, lol

reply

and Mickey gets the blame for ALL of it. When in doubt, blame The Mouse.
(Regardless of any potential evidence that would prove the characters innocence)

reply

Friday Cat would have been awesome. Also, Gigantic would have been too. A newer version of Jack and the beanstalk is something that would be nice.
reply

Something else interesting about Newt: while the film never did get made, there were Easter eggs in reference to it in Andy's room in Toy Story 3.
reply

the live action Dumbo is twice as long as the 1 hour long cartoon!
Newt & Gigantic was seen in Zootopia on Weselton's pirated videos table!

reply

I'm just saying, I would have much rather watched any number of these instead of the remakes and disastrous take-overs disney put out in recent years
reply

You know how I found out about Gigantics cancellation? Well, I was browsing Wikipedia and saw Gigantic was not in the list of upcoming Disney films.
reply

What gets me is the mediocrity Disney churns out now doesnt even come close to being as interesting as some of these scrapped concepts.
reply

I actually would think mort would be interesting and wildlife would have been better as a adult cartoon for Disney or live action movie
reply

For the best Disney canceled this should be the year 2026 of Disney Gigantic to come back! Cause Frozen and Zootopia gotta be sequels!
reply

They might still get made one day. Wall-E was created in the 90s after Toy Story came out and look how long that took to get made.
reply

They cancelled those beautiful projects and then released Strange World and all The garbage they show these days? Are they mad?
reply

Remember, guys: any of these could still potentially get made if someone starts an online petition and enough people sign it.
