Seinfeld? Really? The show started off funny, but over time it just became 4 people always yelling at each other. I disagree that it can't not be funny. And considering that both Cheers and MASH had higher ratings for their series finales that Seinfeld did -- 84. 4 million viewers for Cheers, and 105. 9 million viewers for MASH -- I can't help but wonder how you guys feel like Seinfeld was more beloved than these other two. And hell, just for making the sitcom the thing it has become, not to mention the fact the 3-camera setup that EVERY sitcom now uses was created by the show, I Love Lucy definitely should have been at the top. More than 60 years later, that show STILL holds up and it doesn't have a single episode that isn't funny.

I use to love watching Nick At Night at bedtime with my mom as a kid. We especially loved The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. We'd also watch Golden Girls on Saturday nights, The Nanny, and Frasier. I found Friends on my own! I was a highschool freshman when it debuted and even the teachers would talk about it the next day

I have such fond memories of watching _Taxi, Night Court, _ and especially _Cheers_ with my dad every Friday night. Laughing at the perfect delivery of Louie De Palma or Cliff the Mailman's lines were some of the best times I ever had.

Seinfeld doesn't even deserve an honorable mention.
Golden Girls should have been in the top 20.
What about The Dick Van Dyke Show? The Cosby Show? Murphy Brown? Mama's Family?
First list I totally disagree with

Curb is brilliant, but most people I mention it to haven't heard of it & very few have seen it. I expected it to be popular among Seinfeld fans, but the large majority of them have no interest in Curb.
reply

This list is dominated by the Glen Charles, Lester Charles and James Burrows - they wrote for Mash, Mary Tyler Moore, Phyllis and Bob Newhart, before they produced Taxi, Cheers, Frasier and Wings.

I saw that Bruce Springsteen's video in April and I was thinking is the video vixen a boy or a girl. I have watched friends so many times and I totally missed Courtney Cox face

Okay list. I would have put Golden Girls in the main list and Parks and Rec at least as an honorable mention (maybe Community too, but I understand that it's a bit niche.

UM HELLO? MULTIPLE AWARD WINNING COMEDY 30 Rock? PLUS any one of those honourable mentions deserved a spot over That 70s Show and How I Met Your Mother.

30: 30 The late, great Phil Carey, later Asa Buchanan the feared, multi-married oil tycoon of One Life to Live played Steve the gay man on All in the Family.

You guys are wrong about Fred and Ethel of I love Lucy Ricky would sometimes ask them to perform in his shows because they used to have a Vaudeville act

I haven't watched a lot of sitcoms in a hot minute. But this is pretty much an accurate list of some of the best shows ever created for television.

MASH is my all time favorite, followed closely by Frasier. Top notch writing! I never get tired of watching them. The only 2 I own on DVD.

Yes the 60's-90's has the best sitcoms with my favorites Mash, The Drew Carey Show, Growing Pains, The Facts Of Life, and Andy Griffith.
reply

Yes, the 80's and 90's had the best sitcoms, with my favourites being Family Ties, Growing Pains, Friends, Family Matters or Full House.
reply

That happened to Cosby Show and A Different World? Cosby had his faults personally, but the sitcoms were revolutionary and meaningful.
reply

I really hate how Martin, Living Single, a different World and several other really popular black shows are not featured on here.
reply

Such a shame I can't remember Rosanne in a positive light ever since Ambien came out. Legendary moment in her career tho
reply

It's Jess and Nick there's no male lead character in new girl, stop saying Nick first and Jess last, it's annoying me.
reply

I don't understand how Barney Miller didn't make the list. And All in the family or Lucy should be number 1.
