I honestly do not think you were paying much attention during Lady and the Tramp. You are very quick to point out his faults, some of which youre getting wrong or over-analysing, while other characters who have the same mistakes you are praising. Tramp does try to convince Lady that she should be free like him, but when she turned him down out of duty to her family, he agrees and stops pushing the matter, and offers to take her home. Other characters ranked higher do not stop after they are told no and do exactly what Trump didnt.
Tramp deserves a lot of credit because even when Lady threw him out, he came straight back when he heard something was wrong. Other characters ranked higher would have walked away.
Tramps viewpoint on humans comes from his own bad experiences, yet when Jim Dear and Darling offer him a new home, he takes the chance.
Add to that, he is allowed to have a history. You made it look like he was cheating on her. Other characters, such as Flynn Rider, made mistakes, yet you praise him without criticising them at all. You might not be able to teach old dogs new tricks, but I doubt theyd be willing to learn when shown less favouritism.
Lady and the Tramp broke the mould when you pay attention. Their romance isnt instant, it grows through levels of adversity, compromises and understanding, rather than love at first sight. They come together through shared experiences and being willing to see the other side of the fence. Not a lot of Disney movies up until the renaissance did that. Go back and watch the film again without taking a nap and filling the plot as you guess it went.

It wasn't Eric's fault he didn't recognize Ariel by anything other than her voice. He couldn't see her face after she rescued him because of the sun he could only hear her singing. Same with Prince Charming Cinderella never told him her name and ran off with only the glass slipper as a clue that he gave to his footman to use to find her. I also think this harping on not getting consent in sleeping beauty is ridiculous. The woman in unconscious and literally needs the kiss to save her and the kingdom from eternal sleep. Harping about consent in this case is the equivalent of requiring consent from an unconscious victim to perform life saving CPR.

When it comes to prince Eric: I feel like he deserves a lot more sympathy. seriously come on people he just survived a shipwreck and as far as we know is the sole survivor. He probably sustained a lot of trauma, and trauma can do a lot of weird stuff to your brain, not to mention he was underwater for most of his rescue. His vision was probably pretty blurry, and he didn't actually see her for very long. just something to think about.

Sorry I think Prince Philip needs a little more credit. Just watched Sleeping Beauty on TV today and he's not a half bad guy. I would def put him up a few spots higher. I mean he feel in love with her voice first rather than looks, was willing to give up his crown for her as Briar Rose, and of course fighting a dragon for her. That's a pretty good guy in my book.
