Top 20 Songs to Get Everyone on the Dance Floor

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
These songs get everyone on the dancefloor. For this list, well be looking at the best tracks to use to guarantee everyone in the room will show off their movies. Our countdown includes Macarena, Last Dance, Just Dance, and more! After putting on YOUR dancing shoes When Pink's Get the party started and H C Hammer's U Can't Touch This came up in the honourable mentions, i wasn't happy as they should have been number 1. But it was forgiveable when Michael Jackson's Beat It was the number 1. Quite a few songs missing, but what about Billie Piper she was a singer from 1998-2003. How come we never see her songs mentioned on here

I can think of s few classic Chicago house music, Detroit techno, and Miami freestyle tracks that would get people on the dance floor, but they weren't pop enough to get heard everywhere, so here are some other get on the dance floor tracks.
Le Freak - Chic
Rapper's Delight - Sugar Hill Gang
Vogue - Madonna
Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
Groove Is In the Heart - Dee-Lite
Gonna Make You Sweat - C+C Music Factory
Jump Around - House of Pain
Livin La Vida Loca - Ricky Martin
I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas

Very meh list. Kylie Minogue's Can't Get You Out of My Head is one of the few songs I can think of where people simply spilled onto the dancefloor the moment it came on. I was there. It was a global phenomenon. Also I wanna dance with somebody? How about How will I know? And Beat it at #1? Not a snowball's chance in Hell. Not even Top 100.

Most of the songs on this list are utter crap. Incomprehensible lyrics, flat melodies, and syncopation that goes against natural physical movement. If someone put this playlist on at a party, I'd leave immediately.
I could come up with a very different list that actually works, AND comprises great tunes.

And the best part of Last Dance?
Nice big announce break in the middle, so that you can thank everyone for coming, tell them what's happening tomorrow, and say good night. :-)
And no: except at actual gunpoint, you never play that anywhere before the end of the night; are you nuts?

reply

Seriously? No Celebration by Cool & the Gang? Almost every dance party still plays that one and it did not make the honoree list let alone the main list. It is not a bad list but I am surprised it left that one off. Dance line Electric Slide is another that everyone dances to.

I always wanted to be in this video. I love carnival rides. One of my favorite things to do for a date was to go to a carnival. My favorite rides are Tilt A Whirl, Gravitron, The Swings and The Bobsled (that played music and went forward and backwards)

Madonna (Holiday, Into the Groove, Vogue, Hung Up, Music, Sorry) and Jennifer Lopez (Let's Get Loud, On the Floor, Ain't It Funny, Get Right, Waiting For Tonight) have so many brilliant dance songs and you didn't even mention any. What a shame!

Definitely# 1 Bruno Mars! KC & the sunshine band, Michael Jackson In a whole different mood Abbas Dancing Queen. But if I had to pick one its Bruno Mars for this lady' Gotta dance or play drums or something, love it, he's great

I was born in the mid-90s, and I wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) is my hype song when I'm getting ready to go out, has been for the last 6 years. Theme song for my 20s, I guess

Great list - I didn't know the first one but the rest I agree on. In da club is awesome. I'd want to put Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj - Bang Bang on there too.
reply

Fun fact: Ms. Gaynor sang I Will Survive on an episode of That 70s Show which featured a very rare liva action appearance by voice acting legend Grey DeLisle/Griffin.

I can't decide. For me, it's a three-way tie between Chaka Khan's Free Yourself, Teena Marie's I Need Your Lovin' and Narada Michael Walden's Tonight I'm Alright.
reply

I cant help but feel a little insulted that Gangnam Style by PSY was shown as a clip, but didnt even rank OR get an honorable mention. What gives?
reply

Half of these songs I've never heard played at the nightclub I usually go to. I feel like half the party would leave if they played some of those songs
reply

Just saw suggestions, Love Shack, Time Warp and Nutbush! Also excellent ones which inspire the most laziest people - like me to exercise!

Yes! Beat it by Michael Jackson is #1! I was hoping it would be! Every time I hear beat it, I want to get up and dance!

Picking Beat It over Wanna Be Starting Something and Staying Alive over You Should Be Dancing is a glaring misstep.
reply

a city in texas holding a guinness book world record for dancing to YMCA makes you really pissed off as a queer person.
