This list is a tiny bit of a joke. The amount of songs left off and replaced with the most forgettable pieces. I mean, Falling Slowly? What is the percentage of people who actually know that one exists? And that and things like the song from Slumdog are not only ahead of masterpieces like Let it Go but are on the list at all when half of the rest of Disney, James Bond, White Christmas City of Stars and When You Believe from Prince of Egypt are not even included. There is no reason I shouldn't be aware of at least 5 of the songs included when there are well over 20 cultural icons in the last 100 years that could have and should have made this list.

I enjoy watching these videos, but it appears there is a bias toward more recent items -in this case songs. Songs that have endured much longer are ignored: White Christmas (1942, You'll Never Know (1943, Love is a Many Splendored Thing (1955, The Shadow of Your Smile (1965, and more. Over the Rainbow and When You Wish Upon a Star are a few that do get a mention. Of course, I tend to have a bias toward the older songs and movies, what I think of as timeless. Perhaps instead of using of all time in your titles, put a timeframe on it, such as since 1970.

No theme from Romeo and Juliet, Love Story, The Summer of 42, Exodus, A Summer Place, The Man That Got Away, The Way We Were, Evergreen, Dr. Zhivalgo, theme from The Deer Hunter, Valley of the Dolls, The Godfather, theme from Once Theme from Upon A Time in America, The Shadow of Your Smile (The Sandpiper, The Days of Wine and Roses, Windmills of Your Mind, The Morning After (Poseidon Adventure, Can You Read My Mind (Superman, theme from SHAFT, and list goes on and on. Instead we get a bunch of annoying tunes from the pedos at Disney.

Looking at the age and pedigree of some of the early songs on this list and the preview clips, I was fully prepared to come in and say, What about all the older songs? So I was pleasantly surprised to see Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head and Moon River, but I was ecstatic to see what came out on top, since I'm a big fan of the movie, the song, and the singer. I may not always agree with every item in your lists, but you inevitably get it right at the top, at least!

Over the Rainbow works because it is a young girl's daydream song. Dancers and flashy effects would only have spoiled it. The purity of the setting - a young girl's highly constrained, rural (and therefore dull) environment is the PERFECT place to imaging that girl singing about escaping. When the studio wanted to bump the song, the people who stopped them did film history the biggest favor ever done.

From The New Yorker, concerning the character, Holly Golightly, from Breakfast at Tiffany's: She had no job, but accompanied expense-account men to the best restaurants and night clubs, with the understanding that her escort was obligated to give her some sort of gift, perhaps jewelry or a check. if she felt like it, she might take her escort home for the night. Moon River is a great song, though.

My prolem with Into the West is that Tolkien had written as song about the Grey Havens. which has beautiful words, and was in the BBC radio production version as well, would have been more appropriate than having a singer write a new song. Jackson screwed up LOTS so much that a lot of older fans are still upset, that's just a small part of what they left out that should have been in the films.

With due respect to the talent and originality of the contributions of later generations- such as Its Hard Out Here For a Pimp-many of us 50s babies naturally gravitate to the more timeless classics. Thanks for your coverage of the likes of Evergreen, My Heart Will Go On, and Over the Rainbow. As always, you do a great job with your videos.

I cannot believe that I Will Always Love You did not make it in this video. I mean seriously how can you not include Whitney Houston with her vocals and the passion she put in that song! Plus look at how many awards the song and Whitney won for this song. not to mention how many weeks it spent on the charts!

Though I agree with 1/2 of your choices, what happened to White Christmas, Baby It's Cold Outside, Mona Lisa, 3 Coins in a Fountain, Que Sera Sera and many more? Maybe you should have reclassified the selection as your very personal choice, not those which have lasted the test of time.

A few hits and a lot of misses. Way, way too many misses from recent decades and way, way too few greats from the golden age of Hollywood. And while I have your attention, anything sung by Idina Menzel and her cat-being-tortured-voice triggers an immediate mute,

the most popular, best and most famous song ever White Christmas won the oscar for best movie song; should be! st on this list. not even mentioned let alone listed in this silly list that lacks any credibilty; shame on Ms Mojo and its production team!

8: 56 For Streets of Philadelphia, do you know that Bruce Springsteen do the mtv with small microphone attached to his shirt. This is why you would subtly hear the raw emotions as he was singing on the street rather than a studio recording

My all time favourite song is 'Summertime' from 'Porgy and Bess'. Why don't you do a compilation of Oscar winning songs from musicals? That would be great - maybe you would put in the hits from 'Grease' and 'Saturday Night Fever. '

The theme song for Chariots of Fire not making the top 20 completely invalidates this list. I also agree with others who mentioned When You Believe, Under the Sea and White Christmas being left out. Criminal.

Howard Ashman and Alan Menken wrote glorious music for Disney, but their score for Little Shop of Horrors will always have a special place in my heart. What an incredible range and genius that pairing embodied.

I would like to add honorable mentions for Bedknobs and Broomsticks with The Age of Not Believing and Mary Poppins with Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Moana How Far I'll Go.

When You Believe in The Prince of Egypt, My Heart Will Go On in Titanic and Can You Feel The Love Tonight in The Lion King. Great songs in movies that are a masterpiece

I'd actually move Shallow a few notches higher - maybe one notch below Lose Yourself - as I think it will prove ridiculously timeless. but otherwise a great list.
reply

No I don't agree with your picks, my heart will go on should be #1, it hits deep EVERY TIME I HEAR IT, somewhere over the rainbow. really. eyeroll to an extreme
reply

The list of songs is spot on, but I didn't really wan to hear a woman talking over a majority of it, I would like to have listen to the songs, not her voice

Celibe Dion's Because you Loved me, m for the movie up close and personal and Then you look at me for the bicentennial man should be on the list too
reply

CELINE DIONE SHOULD HAVE EASILY BEEN NUMBER ONE. NOT because of the movie but her EXTRAORDINARY, TALENT, AWE INSPIRING ABILITY TO SING.
reply

I wish When you Believe from The Prince of Egypt was on this list. The duet with Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston was a masterpiece
reply

'Over the Rainbow won song of the century in 2001. I didn't recognize half of these songs, I'm glad Judy Garland was at the top.
