disney world 'wake up. and the whole world please wake up. We are making a world the a hell now. If we discuss and say our opinion about movie or culture, the people twist the words in a manner to make hell out of it. We are making our world, society as egressive as ever. I think there could be somebody else closer to Ariel than this pretty girl. not because of her skin colour (I have the same skin colour though) She doesn't look as Ariel at all, not even an tiny part of her. What a shame. I understand the ideology showing the world a tolerance. But what do you think? what have you sow in peoples mind Disney world? Disgust, making a fun of childhood memories and beauty. its not a tolerance, its the other way around and you see as a result in rating. Next time please find somebody appropriate for the movie.

The ganre has changed entirely into parady/horror. I'm not talking about race or skin coler but about the money. Movie is a form for earning money and It should be made of something people want. Movie industry must follow the taste of audiance and this fact is really basic idea. Although people wanted better cast and well-rewritten story for this movie, they disregarded it and it's a total shame of them. They just picked every random people regardless of their acting skills, lazily brought the same story -actually was worse- and messed up. It could've been not a waste of money for Disney, however, it's waste of everyone's time. Last of all, the most sirious problem is the fact that the movie is totally boring and went to the wrong way that every movie should've never gone. NOT FUN.

Whether Ariel is black or not, my mind still won't change that this climactic role reversal is the worst plot. Eric must to save Ariel like any classic princess story. It could emphasize the reasons for King Triton to allow his daughter marrying with Eric. Not just because Eric had saved their lives but the entire of Atlantica. I know the directors did this because they wanted Ariel and Eric to sharing roles and also show that Ariel is a strong girl that has learned from her mistakes. But this change is too much, Eric has been rescued several times by Ariel from drowning, at least in the end he can save Ariel in the climax scene, not just being garbage all the time.

Let me help you bigot id1ots out. Look at this expression of art as an artist including all races in his animated FANTASY story. A notion all other past authors didn't want to include although thier works were FANTASY.
African people were not apart of alot of European history, however, neither were vampires, mermaids, witches, and Keanu Reeves. However, that is what makes it a FANTASY! ANYTHING GOES IN FANTASY. So you can only imagine how dumb you sound trying to argue FANTASY with history. .Although Harriet Tubman was truly a High Elf.

When my 6-year-old son saw the trailer for The Little Mermaid, he exclaimed, I don't want to watch that movie! They actually burned the Little Mermaid! Why, daddy? Why would they do that? I responded, expressing my own uncertainty. I dont't know son Then, I asked him, Why do you think her eyes are positioned on the sides of her head? To my amusement, he enthusiastically replied, Yeah! The only way you can see both east and west simultaneously is by looking through Ariel's crispy, burnt head.

As good as the movie was, I could've done without a couple of the changes. Firstly, I didn't like that Ursula put a memory spell on Ariel. Why bother making a deal at all if you're going to lie and cheat anyway? Secondly, I HATED the Scuttlebutt song; easily one of Disney's worst songs. Finally, as cool as it was to see Ariel stab Ursula with the ship, I think it would've been better if she and Eric did it TOGETHER.

How can people hate on this movie. I've seen both the animated version as a kid and now the live action now. And all I can say is the music sold it on me. I was teary eyed from some of the music. We all know the story, so I wasn't exactly concerned with the plot. And personally, I enjoyed the CGI. It didn't bother me that voices were coming out of a hyper realistic creature/animal.

Halle did a great job. My only issues are 2 significant Ariel moments were not featured. Ariel's famous blue dress scene and Eric & Ariel's wedding. They do get married btw but we never see it Also, the sisters are hardly in the film, which was weird to me. Since each one was given a new appearance and new personalities. Other than these, I still loved the movie. It was really cute

Biggest difference the original was perfection. The live action is trash. Ruined flounder n sebastion they just look off. And the biggest changing Ariel from a beautiful white girl with iconic red hair to a ashy black one with blonde dreads. Why can't they make new characters if they wanna do dumb shit like that instead of ruining classic icons

i'm NOT certain who the human is in the 2023 little mermaid but her face still isn't EQUAL to the REALLY attractive face of ariel and out of all the disney princesses ariel has the VERY best looking REALLY attractive face and to be TOTALLY honest as a straight male female faces LITERALLY always have and will be my VERY biggest turnon

1)It's nice to see The classic Princess little Mermaid from different perspective. Well it's good now any girls could be like Ariel.
2)Okey if anyone could play Princess Disney character so I hope next movie we should have Korean as Cinderella, Maxican as Snow White, Japanese as Jasmine or another Black as repunzel.

There's a number of things I enjoyed about this film, and 1 that I'll name is how all the merpeople have different and colorful tails and fins based on real fish. That even can extends to some other parts of their bodies. Rather then 1 color tail per merperson, all of whom have the same fins and a collar around.

When King Triton exchanges himself to save Ariel, Ursula's eels zap him into dust (so he DIES. But after Ursula was defeated, Triton was resurrected, he and his daughter acknowledge each other's sacrifices to save the other. A few days pass before Triton allows Ariel to live with Eric.

for me alot of the songs didn't feel right like in the visuals. for example ij under the sea alot of the lyrics made sense in the animated version but in the love action. its just looks like hes singing random lyrics. its like they took the soul out of the song

The new movie is an absolute disaster! Why remake a story and go and change the whole damn thing! Why don't they just write a new story, with all the wokisms they want, and leave old stories as they are? They have destroyed the soul of the story and it's characters!

Nothing will beat the original little mermaid. Ariel, 2023 is a completely different Ariel. I was very disappointed when I watched the movie. However, I was satisfied with Melissa McCarthys Ursula. But then again, nothing will be the original Ursula at her voice.

My favorite change in the live action remake is the building relationship between Ariel and Eric. Their connection was more convincing, seeming genuine and believable that they fell for each other. Great portrayals from Halle Bailey and Jonah Haur King.

Imagine being mad that the person playing a part in a live action remake of a really old cartoon is black lol. Wild to me. She did a great job. Lots of kids will grow up with this version and wont even have the prejudice of their soccer moms thankfully.

Ursela is so damn ugly in the original, like an octopus would be, I hated even having to look at her watching the little mermaid as a child. Now, I couldn't stop thinking about how much better she looked; a little bit attractive, even.

Representation definitely matters. My 13 year old daughter has part of your world on repeat in the shower every day now all because the little mermaid looks like her. She never sang or listened to this song with the original Ariel.

Saw this movie yesterday, and its definitely one of the better live action remakes. It recreates the music, quotes, and notable plot points, but also successfully retcons earlier plot holes while also adding character depth.

Wow, no overweight guy in his 40s, dressed in drag playing Ursula (as is intended, but they recast the main character as a mixed race in a cringe effort to make a PC statement, so that must make it better! Makes sense!

How bout in the 1989 Ursula has 6 tentacles (making her a squid) and I counted 8 in the 2023 movie which makes her an octopus. Even though she was always intended to have 8 they drew 6 bc of budgets!

Instead of Eric defeating Ursula, it is confidently Ariel to save the day. In the original 1989 during the final battle of Ursula, she was defeated when Eric controlled the ship's bow to impale Ursula.
